M+R:KB actually looks pretty good.
The Rabbids game looks very good. BG+E2 looks great, hopefully it's coming to Switch. And, I know it's not a popular opinion, but I am 100% buying Monopoly.
Its too bad Assassin's Creed and Far Cry aren't coming. Those were the most exciting games shown for me today
O.K. Own up. Who was it that voted for Monopoly? Apart from Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom which was very good, overall the support from Ubisoft was disappointing. No Assassin's Creed: Origins, no South Park: Fractured But Whole, no The Crew 2, no Far Cry 5, no Skull & Bones. And most likely no Beyond Good & Evil 2 unfortunately.
UBISoft has Nintendo's back hard again out of the starting block so let's support what we can to get more games from them. Regardless of what you think of them as a company they stuck with Nintendo far longer then anyone else on the Wii U.
Are people that delusional to think that this qualifies as good support? None of Ubisoft's major titles are coming to the Switch.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE ME!!! XD
I'm pleasantly surprised with the Mario Rabbids crossover, not that it has really changed mundane opinion on them.
I'm pleased with Ubisoft's showings this year; the games coming to the Switch look great!
@LeRaposa
It is good support...when they could have decided not to make any switch games at all. To me the support feels better than that for Wii U so its a start. Considering how that system went i can understand the testtube feeding of games for now.
@llamareborn Get out!
Beyond Good and Evil 2 will bleep the curse words with Mario saying "Woo hoo!" I'll probably pick up Rabbids when I get a Switch this Fall.
Just Dance all the way.
Really felt Ubi Would of had a few titles for Switch on offer and worse yet, Rayman, Monopoly and Steep, games we knew about weren't even mentioned and still have no dates!
@PokeMario And you can join llamareborn.
The Mario Rabbid crossover looks fun. And the Assassin's Creed looks awesome. I think Ubi did well.
I really feel like people should start cutting Ubisoft some slack. As others have pointed out they're probably the 3rd party developer that has helped Nintendo the most, despite poor sales.
Mario+Rabbids was really cool. Honestly, I was thinking it would be released later than August and it wouldn't look so good. My body is ready for the crossover.
Haven't enjoyed a Ubisoft game since Blood Dragon, and that was despite Yet Another Ubisoft Sandbox (got bored with those after just an AssCreed and a half), not because of it. Looking forward to seeing more of Kingdom Battle and Starlink.
@PixelViking64 It's not enough to support Nintendo. They need to support them with actual good games. ZombiU was just not adequate.
Ubi is definitely on my good list after that presentation. Really feeling Starlink and Mario + Rabbids totally blew away my expectations. Steep is also gonna be a buy especially if the Switch gets the Olympics content which it probably will.
I am insulted that the Rabbids were resurrected from their graves using the rotting remains of Miyamoto's corpse.
I'm also gravely disappointed that their new potentially awesome sci-fi space combat game now has some toys-to-life gimmick grafted to it, like a sailboat grafted to a Sperm whale. I just...I want to put it out of its misery. I really do.
I'm even more disappointed to find out that Grift Land isn't made by UbiArt...although I guess I only thought that it was Ubi's because I saw it on Gematsu under the Ubisoft oresentation article, not realizing that they post those over an hour in advance.
At least they gave me an excuse to buy Rayman Legends again someday...maybe this time I'll actually play it.
I mean, I really thought the new Assassin's Creed game looked neat, and I'm definitely looking forward to their new Pirate game. Not to mention Beyond Good & Evil 2 was reconfirmed, so it's not all bad...though, I guess those 3 aren't relevent to this site. :T
I'm one of the few people looking forward to Steep.
@CanisWolfred I'm sorry? I think Kingdom battle looks like a good game and it is the first game that makes me think "buy the Switch now".
BG&E 2 might have to ship with an expansion pack.
@LeRaposa Yes,Yes they are.
LOL @ people who think Far Cry 5 could/should come to the Switch. Like that was ever going to be announced.
@Zach I with you on Monopoly
Don't hold up too much hope for Beyond Good and Evil 2 on Switch. Just assume it won't come; so if it does get a port then that'll be a nice surprise. Otherwise, business as usual.
It's a pretty good start, really. At least Ubisoft is releasing a variety. And a Super Mario crossover is nothing to sneeze at. We now have 3 Mario games in 2017 because of this.
@Zach with you on this. Monopoly is class, as long as they don't over do it. Keep it simple and slick and I'm in
mario rabbids looks funny
@KIRO more like keep it long
@Zach me too , its actually one of my favorite games
Monster Hunter Worlds was announced for PS4 release in 2018. Now let me go be heavily depressed.
I want to dislike Mario+Rabbids for the Rabbids, but the game looks so solid, it seems like a lot of effort was put into it and I'm really starting to get excited!
@NateM94 If it helps, it's also on PC and XBone! I was getting real tempted to get a PS4, but nowI can hold off and play it on PC instead.
@NandN3ds I do agree, but as a... skeptic, I have to say that I'm still on the fence about having Rabbids in the game (basically the minions of the gaming world) instead of somebody like Rayman. Though, from the sound of it, I feel like Miyamoto pushed for this partnership, sooooo... Blame him?
Can't believe I'm saying this: that Rabbids game looked good.
@Darkhound1999 I literally drove home from work extremely depressed since I sold my PS4 to get a Switch. But I DO plan on getting the Xbox One X so this saved my day.
@Spoony_Tech "company they stuck with Nintendo far longer then anyone else on the Wii U."
And on the Wii. Who else is putting out games on the wii?
Beyond Good & Evil 2 was not announced during the Sony press conference..so it could be at least a timed exclusive for Nintendo, like almost 15 years ago. And Mario+Rabbids looks surprisingly good!
I think the rumors floating around about Beyond Good & Evil 2 are unrealistic, but I wouldn't rule out a Switch version based on the trailer.
It was all prerendered. We can assume that the game will have a similar art style but aside from that we don't no anything about how the game actually looks. Plus, with them asking the fans to help develop the game it is far from finished (I expect it to launch in late 2018 or 2019).
After watching the Sony show go by with no announcement of Beyond Good and Evil 2,kind of confirms it will be announced as a Switch (timed) exclusive tomorrow. Why else would they leave out what platforms it's coming to?
@Darkhound1999 From what I've read Ubisoft approached Nintendo with the idea, not the other way round.
I've decided to save up some money, about $10 a week in order to have the cash available to buy both EA and Ubisoft's main games for Switch. While I'm not overly hyped or excited for Fifa or Rabbids, I do want those companies to see some early successes so they don't run away. I buy a lot of games so these 2 are something I can stomach. I want those companies to continue supporting Nintendo.
That Mario+Rabbids game actually looks decent and I went in with zero interest
@OorWullie That would make sense, it just feels like something Shiggy would do to personally request the Rabbids' inclusion, since he seemed enamored with them.
@OorWullie If that's true then that would be rather odd of Nintendo wanting to take BG&E2 over the Rabbids game. The swearing alone would make me think they would shy away from presenting it.
Oh come on, people! That Rabbids crossover may not look that bad, or rather it looks great, but more excited for it than Rayman Legends? No way! Sure, it's yet another port - but a port of one of the finest platformers you'll ever see. Seriously adore that game. <3
Please stop uploading UK only videos, it's really getting monotonous.
Funny to see the opinions on Mario + Rabbids do a complete 180 now that the game's been revealed.
Game looks really good. One of the better titles I've seen so far at E3 this year.
Hyped as hell for BG&E2, but not expecting it to come to Switch.
@NandN3ds Damnit, of all the potential responses to my intentionally absurd post, you picked the most boring part to respond to. I'm sure it looks good. As others said, it's a wacky turn-based action-strategy, vaguely reminiscent of X-Com. And that would've been fine on it's own, but they inserted the Rabbids, and that's were my contention lies.
I hate the Rabbids. Everything about them - the look, their games, how hard they were rammed up the publics buttholes during the late 2000's. When they faded from public consciousness, I never wanted to see them come back. It's like meeting the teacher that you molested as a child for the first time in almost a decade, during your sister's wedding. And he's the groom!
...except in this case, the sister would be Mario? Wait, that's odd...wouldn't it be, like, Peach? Unless Mario got a sex-change...ew...I don't want think about that....
...I'm losing my train of thought here. The point is, I am livid that the Rabbids were brought back in a way that I could not even hope to ignore. Yeah. There we go.
@IceClimbers I've never had any interest in the Rabbids; I'm never going to go back and play the Rayman game when they were introduced, and certainly not the spinoffs. But M+R is clearly a passion project that a lot of thought and work has gone into, and for that reason alone it deserves at least a look, deserves to find its audience, and deserves to be a success.
@LeRaposa I'm pretty sure this MARIO crossover game is something they consider major. Personally I think it has franchise written all over it.
@Spoony_Tech what about devils turd?
Rabids... blech.
Loves the new mario-rabbids game but i really really think switch needs a bad ass fps with great single and multi player modes.
Monopoly!
Steep interests me most because of the wingsuit flying and cool scenery. Might get Rayman Definitive depending on how many extras there are over Wii U. Mario + Rabbids has an amusing trailer but I'm not really interested in the game quite honestly.
Meh. Mario + Rabbids is the best looking game here but I am still not all that excited for it. I'll get it regardless in hopes that I find it fun.
Ya know, for all the flack I've given them, Ubisoft seem to genuinely have love for the damn thing that is Nintendo Switch. I support their efforts. And I hope that they do well. And maybe we, are all the happier for it.
Now just give us Beyond Good & Evil 2 and all will be forgiven.
@LeRaposa Ubisoft has reason to be cautious. They truly did try to support the Wii U for awhile, but it didn't live up to their expectations (in terms of their software sales). The Switch isn't even a year old yet. 3rd parties are expected to be skeptical at this point. At the time, the Switch will not suffer its first year without 3rd party support. So many games are coming to the system directly from Nintendo this first year. It's as if they KNEW 3rd party developers wouldn't adopt their hardware so early after the failures of the Wii U.
Patience is important during this period. Mario + Rabbids is Ubisoft getting their toe wet before diving in for the long term. I say let them.
@LeRaposa
People have to get real,Nintendo are not in the hardcore video game market anymore.
The hardcore video game market is roughly around 160 million consoles and at the moment has two major players already competing in that market space,at best Nintendo could get a 50% share of that market, this would be a poor investment imo considering how much money they would have to pay to secure deals with the major western developers who are already in bed with Sony and Microsoft.
Nintendo will have to create it's own market each and every generation, now sometimes this will payoff big time as with the Wii/DS generation, sometimes not as much, but even in a pretty poor generation with the 3DS/Wii U Nintendo have managed to shift 80 million consoles so far.
Nintendo need unique experiences that you can't get on the Xbox/Ps4,this will cater for the casual/mass market more, and will offer Xbox/Ps4 owners a reason to own a Switch to go alongside their main console,I mean why would you buy the latest "Assasins creed" game for the switch when it was already available for your main console?
Nintendo also have a big advantage in their own software output has a lot of potential, and as the switch will be their main focus from now on they can supply lots of great gaming experiences.
I do not feel the Wii U failed because of it's software,I feel Nintendo just made a piece of hardware that simply did not engage people, the switch is a sexy piece of kit and people want to buy it pure and simple, and even with the exact games that were released on the Wii U the switch would have performed better,of course the fact Nintendo are actually getting the advertising and message of the systems unique selling points across helps as well .
I think the support Ubisoft have shown so far for the switch is awesome, and will only help the systems sales, people always complain that normal AAA titles just do not sell on Nintendo consoles,so this imo is why Ubisoft has gone in a different direction and is looking to bring games to the switch that actually have a chance of selling.
Just remember the Wii U had "Zombie U" and "Black ops " at launch..............and we all know how the Wii U ended up.
That Mario× Rabbids looks AWESOME! CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT XENOBLADE 2!
Sorry didn't mean to shout
cross fingers for beyond good and evil 2.
Can't wait for StarLink it's exactly what I've been waiting for on a Nintendo system. We are seriously lacking Space Exploration games. Finally
@Spoony_Tech hopefully Starlink has some online. Would be neat to have a Wingman or be a Wingman looks great so far.
I still don't think BGaE2 is going to be a switch title...But that Mario cross looked kinda fun. XCOM for the kids.
I'm glad the Rabbids Mario crossover game turned out to be real.
Aside from that, I had no idea about Starlink until today, but it looks fantastic. Definitely keeping an eye on how that turns out.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Honestly, why bother with Nintendo? You only ever seem to complain about the company and its platforms. You might be better off with a PS4 to get all the "big games".
Wow
Well I'll keep eating crow- revenge of the crossover doesn't look bad. OF course I would have preferred a tactiCal game of just Mario people. Or a crossover with anyone else, but whatevs..
The problem is I would rather have BGE2, AC origins, South Park or FC5 on Switch more than RABBID
Disappointed in Ubisoft because not one M rated game was announced for the Switch. I mean, if you can play Assassin's Creed, South Park, Farcry 5, Skull and Bones, & more on a console that you can take anywhere with you, then that should be more important than kiddos that stumble into playing a mature game or lack of M rated game sales.
Assassins n far cry was just same old ......😴 Mario n rabbids was something new and exciting
@SanderEvers Well that wasn't even a gameplay trailer.
News story - "Ubi Soft, probably the best third-party supporter of Wii U, has announced a new Switch exclusive to go with several other games they're bringing to the system."
@SanderEvers on Nintendo Life - "This is Ubisoft, and they don't care about Nintendo. AT ALL."
Did people really expect Far Cry and assassin's Creed? Wow. It's genuinely amazing to see how slow on the uptake some people are.
The only thing that interests me with the new AC is the setting.
Farcry would have been nice, and even if the system could run it , are they able to cram games that large onto the carts?
Fractured but whole on the go would be amazing if that could happen.
You can't really say that UbiSoft don't care about Nintendo when their new Multiplatform IP prominently shows off Switch compatibility and integration. Attaching a toy to my joycons doesn't really do it for me but still it shows that the switch is definitely on their radar.
Mario rabbids surprised me. I didn't expect to like the gameplay.
Starlink looks interesting. Will re evaluate closer to launch.
BG&E2 broke my heart. This is not the game I was waiting for.
Still looking forward to monopoly and steep.
Star Battle game actually looks quite cool, especially of you could do online teams, but what the Fu#k is all that toy nonsense!? that just looks utterly ridiculous and is reason that i wont buy it.
@SanderEvers True however a new IP does cost a lot of money and carries potentially more risk than the other well established titles. The fact they are showing how'll it will work specifically with the Switch rather than PS4 or X1 can only be seen as a good thing. And I know it's been said before but these big AAA titles have a long development cycle (typically 4 years) and the Switch is brand new so we probs won't see them for awhile. Once they are out the port process is much quicker as long as the switch is powerful enough to handle them. At the moment that' is a big "if".
Mario x Rabbids looks batshit crazy in the best possible way! It looks even better than I expected, a system seller for me for sure!! Its just so out there, like the classic Nintendo of old.
Starlink looks odd, I don't want all that crap stacked on my controller
To be honest I had my doubt at first about m+r kg. Then after seeing it my opinion chanced as it looks great and a lot of fun.
The other games we are getting are alright or great. Was a bit disappointed about south park especially after they revealed the mobile game but that was it.
Not watched the presentation or read all comments, was anything new said about Rayman Legends Definitive Edition? or a release date mentioned? Thanks,
@SLIGEACH_EIRE "No Assassin's Creed: Origins, no South Park: Fractured But Whole, no The Crew 2, no Far Cry 5. And most likely no Beyond Good & Evil 2 unfortunately."
Yeah but to be honest based on what they'd shown it looks like they'd struggle to run on a decent PC.
Mario+Rabbids looks very fun. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a day one buy (if it's coming to Switch). Steep looks good as well. I already have Rayman Legends on Wii U (which is the true definitive edition).
Starlink looks rad, but I'm not into buying more physical figurine-stuff for any game. amiibo are more than enough for me. Though if it's used in mindblowing ways I can see it take off.
@LegendOfPokemon All but the really big games in their library you mean? Nintendo fans having to be content with third party scraps yet again unfortunately. The Spotlight today better blow peoples socks off because the Switch will start to get a WiiU like reputation before long
Just Dance is coming to Wii? Like, the one that released 11 years ago? Wow. O_o
Love the support hate the Rabbids. To me it looks awful but I have never liked them and that type of humour. Minions are the same stupid base comedy. But again that's just me. Defo want 3rd parties like this so happy overall. Hope all that want a game like Mario + Rabbids get what they want and Ubi get sales so we get more support in the long run. Switch's E3 is slowly gaining some traction.
I think Nintendo's finally found their golden formula for third parties... the Switch's unique concept that avoids competition with the other consoles is bringing in the multiplatform titles, and their openness to letting third parties use their IPs is bringing in exclusive games and features, while also allowing collaborative titles to breathe new life into franchises that were starting to get stale.
Mario vs Rabbids looks okay.
Starlink looks nice, but is toys to life.
Beyond good and evil looked awful!
@CanisWolfred
I feel that pain too.
Still think the Mario/Rabbids crossover is a bit ridiculous. I don't like crossovers anyway and while Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is one of the worst games I've ever played, at least they're of a somewhat equal stature. I think Iwata was right to reject the idea before.
I'm extremely happy about M+R! Rabbids are really a great concept, and have been around for a long time. The trailer show some example of excellent humor and how well the two works together. Strategy in this form is one of my favorite, so end of the summer can't come fast enough 😉
I think the overall press conference was quite good. Wasn't expecting any triple A titles like the new assassin's creed to hit switch. It seems people are quite happy with m+r so I may also try that game out.
I personally would have liked some ports, like for example a Switch port of the Ezio collection.
Hope they will bring BG&E 2. Anyway presentations where a bit... well, better do like Nintendo.
Rabbids title is solid, I would have just liked mushrooms instead of Rabbids.
Starlink looks good.
@faint What about it?
Triple dipping for Rayman Legends, because that game is awesome!
The Mario + Rabbids game looks neat. It's on my "maybe" pile.
I keep saying we buy Nintendo hardware to play Nintendo games. Everything else is just extra cake.
@Spoony_Tech it had tons of cursing.
@faint Forgot I even made a second comment in here lol. That was odd as well but maybe why Nintendo tried to distance itself from it when it came out. If they want to shead a certain image then more power to them. I'm more disappointed the swearing seems forced and out of place considering the first game.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 if it comes to Switch. I will sure get Rayman Legends Definitive Edition and Mario+Rabbids!
@PixelViking64 Poor sales? Maybe because while they release real games on other consoles, we get Rabbids. Maybe that's why they get bad sales.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE All of those games are highly advanced development that has been in the works since long before the Switch was announced. Do you really want a half-assed port done in 6 months with no real time for optimization?
@SanderEvers That doesn't matter. Remember the PSP? Countless devs were willing to do a lot of downgrading to get those same games ported to it.
I really don't get why Assassin's Creed Origins isn't coming to Switch. Assassin's Creed III and IV came to Wii U in its early days and I thought that Ubisoft would continue that trend by bringing Origins to Switch after the Wii U "missed" the past few entries. I actually haven't cared about an AC game since Black Flag but Origins looks so cool!
I am very excited for Mario & Rabbids but I had to vote for Starlink. That game looks so cool & something I never thought would come to Switch given its very online community focus. That will be a day 1 buy for sure!!!! I'll also get Rabbids, that reveal totally sold me on that game too!
That Rabbids game actually looks quite good.
Rabbids looks way better than speculated. And Starlink looks great minus the toy gimmick.
Was hoping for some Switch news on Steep...that DLC for Steep Olympics looks like Steep will now have some structured races, which is really appealing to me.
For the record, their presenters make Shiggy, Reggie and Bill look like PR Legends.
Rabbids looks excellent. I'm not sure what to think of Starlink. The game looks cool, but I don't really understand what exactly it is yet. And I'm cringing mightily at the toys/endless DLC aspect. I want to learn more about it because I want to like the game. It looks cool minus those potentially game breaking aspects.
Is Steep still coming to Switch? There wasn't a Switch logo on that.
What I dislike about most of Ubi's show including BG&E is that almost everything was "persistent online". That's a deal breaker for any game for me. They said they were focusing less on stories, but I didn't know that meant just big MMO worlds. Not really interested in any of that, honestly.
Assassin's Creed is a miss. I'll be getting it on PS4, but I really would rather play big games like that on Switch, honestly no matter the graphics hit. Pick up & Play just changed how I can approach games with life going on around them. But it's too good looking to skip, I've been waiting for the REAL AC2 for a decade. This is finally it. Everything that made the first game great seems to be here.
@18wonders I really wanted AC:O on Switch, but keep in mind that game is almost 4 years in development. Switch wasn't even supposed to exist and WiiU was still supposed to be going strong when that game entered development....same with most games. So it's fair that they didn't retrofit a new platform at the last minute, years into development. They could have done it, but it's understandable they wouldn't. Still bummed though
Cancer
@LeRaposa They are developing exclusives for the Switch. That is good support. Monopoly and Mario + Rabbids. Also releasing Steep and Rayman Definitive edition. 6 games so far from Ubisoft in the first year is good.
Wow, Mario Rabbids looks really boring.
But hey, at least they confirmed BG&E2!
Man, BG&E 2 just sounds too expansive to be done on Switch... but here's hoping.
Only Mario+Rabbids for me, but it looks fantastic. Great exclusive!
BG&E2 is not looking good. Very disappointed with that.
At the very least I find Mario in Xcom's battle system very interesting.
Buying this because I like Mario and tactical games. Not so much for Rabbids, though the Rayman art-style in Mario's world looks very nice.
@NEStalgia Oh yeah, that's right. It was in development for 3 years because they had that gap between Syndicate and Origins. It looks like the wait paid off though. I doubt that a Switch port is coming so I guess I'll just have to play it on PC.
3 years in development, hmm obviously intended for the wii u before they switched
To a degree, this is why the Wii U failed- for a lot of people, just having the Wii with some old games and Just Dance was enough and will be enough for a while.
IMO, MSFT and Sony might see this for awhile also. I don't feel the need to get an xbox one x and probably won't for several years, if ever. But the Switch is different enough that I think a substantial number of people will give it a whirl
@crimsoncavalier I don't remember a single rabbids game being released on Wii U, so I guess you're referring to Mario + Rabbids? The fact that you don't like them (honestly they're not really my cup of tea either) doesn't mean that it can't be a good game. The visuals are honestly amazing and the combat seems fun too.
As for the rest of the argument, both Rayman legends and Assassin's creed 3 was released on Wii U and those games seemed pretty good. I'm not sure about ZombiU though.
@PixelViking64 ZombiU was decent. And I'll admit, both ZombiU and Red Steel were genuine attempts by Ubisoft to do something unique on the respective consoles. But those were their only offerings.
I don't like Assassin's Creed, and I wouldn't play it, to be honest, but that doesn't mean the game shouldn't be on the system. What I'm getting at is when we see that they put less effort on the Nintendo console, the consumer will react to that by not purchasing your product.
Like Watchdogs. They can't say "Our games don't sell well," if they give us worse versions of games, or games that no body wants. Let's be serious, Rabbids + Mario is not going to sell well.
