I'm curious about the problem with the two-part split, which is similar to the 'searching for friends' part in FFVI, as you say. That part of the game is often considered a strength of FFVI. Does it not work as well in this game?

Well, I'm glad I don't have the sensibilities of a modern gamer. Clock Tower absolutely is "a nerve-wracking thrill ride from start to finish," and the slow pacing builds tension.

I see. Certainly some people believe that a console with lower sales is less worthy to play. I'm not one of those people, so we agree about that.

I'm saying that from a different perspective the PS5 is a distant last place in a contest between only 3 consoles. I don't think that would hurt the availability of games you want to play. From PS5 gamers perspective, and from your perspective, it's probably fine. From a Sony executive's perspective, it's probably not great. But maybe in the Japanese market it's actually really good. I have no idea.

Dungeons are prisons so I think Hyrule put way too much energy into those and ignored the smaller kind. How often do the monsters exit dungeons? Never? Pretty effective I think.

I always go to museums when traveling but, even being a Nintendo fan, this has no appeal for me. I can't think of any changes that would make me want to go there.

Of the FFIV options you listed, though I personally prefer the SNES version because of nostalgia, I think the PSP version best. The Pixel Remasters are a good alternative.

I had a hankering for some old school Final Fantasy as well. Playing FFVI this weekend and using the PR bestiary just to run boss fights.
