I'm finally going to play Mario Land 2, and I've been meaning to complete Gargoyle's Quest since forever, so I'll get to that too!

After record profits and a pay raise for all japanese employees, a $70 price might not be a new trend, but you know what will be? Paid DLC.

I'm going to wait it out with this one and see just how much they've sliced put for later purchase after asking people to pay more than full price to start with.

I have three months to finish Breath of the Wild. :x

Will we finally see towns, characters, and dungeons for Tears of the Kingdom? Sure hope so. :v

Most of the games I want to play on Switch are digital only. :T
That, or I'd have to wait a year and a half AND pay triple to get a physical release.

Not even kidding, this is a HUGE improvement.

But. It's only that huge an improvement because the store always forgets what you were looking at after you purchase or download a title, and you have to search all over again to get to the same spot in a search.

If they were to fix THAT aspect, that would be the real improvement.

Yeah, I was already sold when the game resurfaced last year. ^^

Original game had dual analog.
You just needed to be holding two controllers.
I'm not even kidding.

I enjoy how relaxed these felt.
Iwata chatting away about how happy it makes him that MiiVerse is being used the way they hoped it would. ^^

Sounds very interesting!

Too bad with the ending feeling a little unpolished.
With adventure games, you work VERY hard to get there, so it's extra disappointing if an ending is poorly written or logically incoherent.

If NL vouches for it not being a dealbreaker here, I'm game. ^^

This is a pretty high profile production for Daedalic, and in a genre they aren't that familiar with. So I'm not surprised if COVID and IP holder expectations, along with a buyout from Nacon in early 2022 would slow things down. ^^

Who knew what the Dungeon Keeper formula needed was a direct connection to the overworld, and and a Western setting with steampowered robots?

I got around to playing DIG2 last year, which was great, but then I still have untouched HEIST on my Wii U. Gotta get steamin'.

Now THAT'S a game I've been wanting to play!

I'd have loved to see Lou Albano and Danny Wells play these out. ^^

That's a nice move, honestly.

I didn't find the weapons breaking to be even in my top five of issues with the game.

And, I'm not expecting it to return either. They played the idea to its conclusion, so I think they'll do something else. I'm not concerned.

It still feels current to me in that nobody's yet managed to do what it does any better.
And I still have a lot of games in it I need to play. ^^

Haha, yes, aside from also being a really fun game. But I know what you mean. DK Jungle Beat was special for the same reason.

Such a lovely tale of how a terrific indie title came about! The playful nature of development at KnapNok and the other guys at Copenhagen Games Collective really fosteres something special. :3

And exactly as you said, their faith in their unannounced projects seems be hitting an all time low, despite already being known for cancelling 80+ percent of what they greenlight.

Seems like if they want to make money, they should release more games instead of cancelling them all.

I would enjoy the more environmentally friendly cardborad toys if they didn't feel so poorly designed and underdeveloped.

I got the the Donkey Kong wobble toy, and not only is the weight too low for it to work properly, but his arms don't even reach all the way out to the enemies that come with it, as to be able to knock them over!

Where was the LABO team when we needed them?

Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade 3, Splatoon 3, Pokémon Legends AND Pokémon Scarlet/Violet. AND GOSH DANGIT: KIRBY!!

Strong titles overall, but honestly, I haven't bought ANY of them.
I'm playing Return to Monkey Island.

I'm not talking in terms of sales.

I bought this DLC day one because unlike most DLC, it's obvious that hard work went into it after the main game was released, its value to the player was easy to see, and the price was VERY reasonable.

AND it incorporates a wordplay gag on the abbreviation 'DLC'. I'm a complete sucker for unnecessary puns and wordplay.

Same summer was still before, meaning that Banjo Kazooie "pioneered" buddy platformers to the same if not larger degree than Insomniac. I'm not saying the fiurst Spyro was in any way inspired by Banjo Kazooie. But to the public, Banjo did it earlier and better.

Meaning that when people see Ratchet carrying around Clank as a backpack in 2002, only two years after the huge sequel to Banjo Kazooie, people are not in the wrong for making comparisons.

That's a fair counterpoint. However, the first Banjo-Kazooie released several months prior to the first Spyro the Dragon, and it was MUCH more developed in terms of utilizing the buddy-dynamic for gameplay. So I'd be pretty surprised if Insomniac wasn't taking notes at the time.

Volker Wertich, the series' original creator, even appears to have been involved this time. :v

The story goes that Ubisoft has been cancelling sequels and reboots left and right ever since 2010, where The Settlers 7 and the browser game released.
I know a couple of people that quit their otherwise nice jobs at BlueByte some years back, supposedly because they only got to make things that got thrown in the trash. :s

This makes sense with the advance of digital distribution, the much more homogenized European landscape in terms of IP rights and licensing practices, than was the case thirty years ago.

I wonder also if this means Nintendo plans to eventually cut ties with Bergsala for Scandinavian distribution.

Maybe we're lucky enough to get the game without ANY voice acting. :x

I'd only call the visuals authentically retro if your idea of retro is the 3DS. :v
The vibe is certainly there, but they're deliberately doing a lot of things that weren't possible before the GameCube era.
