Re: N64 Classic Perfect Dark Has Been Decompiled, Paving The Way For PC Ports

GOTTA SAY:
This isn't exactly any more -legal- than emulating is.
Not if one were to distribute it.
Any player would still need to personally own a licensed copy of the game and provide their own assets.
And even the code, also in decompiled form, is a copyright of the creator/owner.

THAT SAID:
What a tremendous effort!
Decompiling late-era N64 code is not something I'd personally want to have to do in a million years.
Looking forward to seeing where the community will take it from here.

I'm also very excited about having one of the greatest games ever much more readily available for study, allowing us all to get smarter as developers, designers, or just general enjoyers of games.

Good idea to move the BT menu.
Hopefully they moved it to somewhere that's quicker to find.
The BT connection screws up frequently, so you need to go there pretty often if you like using it.

Good of them to let us screenshot the store too.
The gallery is a lot more accessible than your wishlist, if you want to remind yourself of what you're keeping an eye on.

Not sure everyone would agree that the visuals are drastically improved.
They're moving from flat-shaded characters on prerendered backdrops to full 3D with comic book outlines on everything. It's a somewhat different aesthetic overall.

That said, I never played Fear Effect, so I'm not one to judge whether the new clothes suit the emperor.

Re: Pokémon GO Is Joining The 3D Billboard Craze In Japan

I'm confused as to how 3D they can be said to be.
Aren't they just videos running on a 2D screen that only appear correctly if seen from the corner?
If so, this is mostly just a new use of technology we have had for decades.

@Not_Soos
I thought about this too, but I'm sure it would be insane to make technology similar to the 3DS work for something like a billboard, that should be visible from so many different angles and distances.

This is a fun setup for recommendations! :v
One mixture I -can- recommend if you want to feel absolutely terrified is

Killer 7 + House of Leaves

They don't really overlap thematically, but they share parts of their character portrayal, and both stories are experienced through layers of retelling or distorted viewpoints, making it hard for the audience to gauge if we're told the truth, or some character's version of it.
