Re: Feature: A Year in Development - Renegade Kid

Pikachupwnage

RK kinda lost my interest for a couple years.

Mutant Mudds was cool but got lost in my backlog and none of their output save moon appealed to me really(and the episodic format was crap. Shoulda been one game from the start. Would've made more money that way I say)

But dementium 1/2 and Treasurenaughts are on my list. 3DS needs more horror games and I like games that you collect lots of loot in.

Re: Monster Strike Ships Over A Million Copies In Just Four Days

I hope smartphone games being de-microtransaction'd and fleshed out in a handheld remake becomes a trend.

A lot of smartphone games have good ideas and a fun premise but are ruined by

-Intrusive or predatory micro transactions/ads
-touch screen only controls
-excessive reliance on social features
-too much time limited content
-Firmware updates literally rendering games unplayable(freedom unite for example)
-more frequent crashes
-often times if you have an older device(even just a couple years old) it might not run properly or at all.
Etc.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Legends Will Allow You to Find and Customise Your Own Fairies

Pikachupwnage

@Yorumi it probably makes more sense financially to release the game to a new and larger install base than it does to release DLC for a over two year old game.

Plus this is a lot of content. Five new characters, a new adventure map, new enemies, new maps, costumes, customizable fairies etc and the game already a bit of DLC. Expecting a game more than a year old to get new content is crazy unless its a MMOPRG or something REALLY REALLY big.

I own the Wii U version and am fine with this.

Re: The Yo-Kai Watch Franchise Has Now Shipped Over 10 Million Copies

Pikachupwnage

@wazlon that is really the only big problem a I have with the game.

The chance you have of recruiting almost every Yokai is stupidly low. Even with a ability that boosts chances and the best food you often will need a dozen+ attempts to befriend one. Don't even get me started on the rare Yokai...

It's a 8/10 because of this rather than a 9/10 IMO.

Re: Review: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (3DS)

Pikachupwnage

@MrSeitaro THIS. Only indie fighting games can really get any sort of pass for this at all because they might not have the resources. Even than its a big knock against the game....

But Namco Bandai is a long lived large company and dragonball is a big series so it is rather shameful.

Re: Preview: Fabulous Fashion and Questionable Game Design in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

Pikachupwnage

I have a brother who is also a Zelda fan and my best friend is a huge Zelda fan.

Gonna get us together to play this. It's gonna be great. Download play being so generous is great as I don't have to buy my poor college bro a copy now

But yeah I don't think this will be as good as ALBW. That game was freakin amazing. It ranks up their with the likes of Majoras Mask.

Re: Exclusive: Behind The Scenes On Playtonic's Yooka-Laylee

This looks pretty cool.

Not bad at all for 3 months work with a small teams. Excited for the final product. We really need more 3D platformers. Nobody makes any aside from Nintendo(and thats just Mario) and a handful of indies(Gears for breakfest) Oh and Sonic does 3D games I guess but those usually get mixed to negative reception from everyone...colors being pretty much the only exception

Its all retro 2D Platformers, runners and crap everywhere. That being said a few devs really nail the 2D formula and are totally welcome to continue(Yacht Club games and Pixel for example)

@Kaze_Memaryu

Ripstone Creative Director - Phil Gaskell:
"It's always exciting to hear about middleware reaching new platforms as it immediately makes me think what games can Ripstone bring to those platforms, and how can the hardware compliment the game experience. In the case of Unity supporting the New Nintendo 3DS we have at least 5 games I would immediately want to start working on bringing to the platform."

That sounds rather explicit to me,

Pikachupwnage

"a lot quieter with regards to the 3DS. If it wasn't for a hugely exciting Nintendo Direct reveal in November last year it'd be truly lacking"

SMDH. With a console like 3DS that gets primarily japanese supoort you gotta look at likely localizations.

Games confirmed but not listed here(should've had an honorable mentions listing more games)

Hatsune Miku Project Mirai Mix
Ironfall
Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
Etrian Mystery Dungeon
Mighty No 9
Treasurenaughts
Mutant Mudds 2
Omori
Yokai Watch
Etc.

Likely for localization

Forbidden Magna(Xseed registered a web domain with a very similar name recently and expressed interest in localizing it in the past)
Final Fantasy Explorers
Little Battlers experience(teased by Level-5)
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 Knight of Fafnir(its Etrian odyssey. Every single one has been localized thus far and Altus in general localizes almost everything they make.)
Senran Kagura 2(Xseed said the first one sold within expectations and if the spinoffs are coming over as well I doubt they will pass over the main series)
Etc.

Also SmileBasic is an app not a game, Should've put Record breaker or something in its place.
