Re: Nintendo's Official Camera "Attach Rate" With Switch 2 Revealed For US

Pikachupwnage

@dDankGM

That is not remotely what Attach Rate is.

If I sell 100 switches and 5 Gooblethingys then Gooblethingys have a 5% Attach rate. That is it. Attach rate in this context has nothing to do with actual usage.

Given that there are third party cameras and non Switch 2 branded cameras that work the amount of people using a camera may well be much higher then 5%. But this article is talking about a specific camera accessory not usage or total cameras used with a Switch 2 of all kinds.

Re: Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Has Been Delayed Again

Pikachupwnage

Least shocking news tbh.

Gonna be terrible for the games sales missing the holiday and probably arriving about when Switch 2 is about to hit.

Level-5 is really absolute garbage at getting games out the door and handling the marketing sensibly.

They have a metroid Prime 4 situation with most their major releases nowadays...

Re: Japanese Man Arrested For Selling Hacked Scarlet And Violet Pokémon

Pikachupwnage

@Anti-Matter

This is a childish mindset. There is no victim. The crime is meaningless.

He was only selling pokemon. The game does not have pokemon microtransactions. You need a copy to even recieve the pokemon.
The game has hack checks so they can't hurt the online battling either.

They lose no money. No one is hurt. Its a ridiculous overreach.

Modding legally purchased software(or abandonware) should be a legal right anyways.

Re: Balatro Removed From European Nintendo eShops Due To Ratings Switch

Pikachupwnage

"Balatro was developed by someone whols saur antamour and palstakis care has been taken to ensure that the game does not feature gambling mechanics of any kind"

Uh what?

Regardless this is a nasty thing to do and they need to stop removing games for a simple rating change unless evidence is provided of malicious attempts to significantly manipulate a rating.

Re: 8% Of Developers Are Apparently Working On Games For Switch's Successor

Pikachupwnage

@Synecdoche

Well given its not even revealed yet likely only the big studios, a handful of mid size ones, close partners like Mercurysteam, and a select few of the biggest indies or indies most trusted by Nintendo have dev kits or much official info.

The number will double, triple or more shortly after the official reveal as the smaller and indie devs that outnumber the major studios get kits or start deving with Switch 2 specs in mind while waiting on a kit.

The number most interested in Switch 2 over any other platform is four times that of the number developing for a reason.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Seeking More Studios To Work On Its IP

Pikachupwnage

This is good. Even with how Much Nintendo and Monolith soft have expanded they will still need a lot of external help to keep a good cadence of releases and give recently neglected IP like Donkey Kong a new home. And dare I say...F-Zero or even a really old revival like Mysterious Murasame castle.

Or 2D Zelda as the resources for 3D Zelda are enormous now.

Re: Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games

Pikachupwnage

@sanderev

Everybody 1-2 Switch
Advance Wars Reboot Camp
Pikmin 1+2
Sushi Strikers
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore
All Labo Kits except the Variety pack

The first 3 might make it by the end of the FY with Pikmim being most likely and 1-2 Switch being least likely.

Plus a few third party games games they published but not worldwide didn't make it either.

Re: Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games

Pikachupwnage

@reporterdavid

Come on man.

The tagline is "Every first-party game that has sold over one million copies." If Nintendo didn't publish it it isn't here(and also if they only publish a game in some regions rather then worldwide we likely won't get updates from Nintendo as they don't have all the sales captured and they rarely publish massive games for third parties anymore) For example triangle stratgey was self published by SE in Japan but published by Nintendo in America and Europe.)

Plenty of third party IP that are million sellers.

Monster Hunter Rise. Over 8 million
Suika Game: 3 Million
Dragon Ball FighterZ - 2.43M
Witcher 3: 1.8 Million
Resident Evil Reveleations collection 1.4m
Etc.

Mamy others we have partial data or no specific numbers but we know they have/have to had sold over a million. Games like

Stardew Valley
Minecraft(over 5 million just from Japan, Spain and French retail sales alone)
Dragon Quest XI: S
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy
Etc.

I compiled a list a few weeks ago(some games have had updated numbers since mostly Nintendo first party games)

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/189706-nintendo-switch/80601091

For the record Nintendo normally publishes sales of the top 10 all time Nintendo Published sellers per system + whatever Nintendo published that has sold over a million during the fiscal year. Otherwise we wait for CESA numbers once a year(usually in the summer) that cover up till the end of the prior year and covers games that sold over a million on a platform Life to date.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC Is A Chance To Win Back Disenchanted Fans

Pikachupwnage

What I need

-Framerate to be mostly stable
-Pop in and draw distance to be greatly improved
-Not to be bug ridddem
-Refine the open world and world design. Make some interesting dungeons and such.
-More love and care given to animations. Pokemon since going 3D have often felt sterile and lifeless. The N64, GC and spinoff games often have had far better animations for pokemon then post X/Y games.
-Speed things up. Why is the battle system so insanely slow?
-More challenge. Can we get hard mode, single player postgame content etc?

In terms of story and pokemon design I loooove Scarlet/Violet. And world design is much better then Swsh. But it still all feels duck taped together and rushed out.

Re: Talking Point: Professor Layton And The Lost Franchise: Where Did The Beloved Puzzle Series Go?

Pikachupwnage

Level-5 died with the 3DS essentially. They milked their good series to death and completely lost any and all goodwill in the west(which was already strained with their inconsistent localization and poor communication and extremely long waits for localizations in an era where most devs that weren't indie moved to simultaneous release or a least cut waits down to only a few months)

Now Layton is dead, Yokai watch is a shambling Japan only husk and they can't even get an Inazuma eleven game out the door...for a series that was near yearly before.

I stopped even attempting to care about anything they do several years ago and would be surprised if they survive the decade without going under.
