Re: Nintendo Infographic Outlines Switch and 3DS Games for 2017

Pikachupwnage

@SLIGEACH_EIRE

The list is not exhaustive and is missing.

Runbow Pocket
Lady Layton
Etrian Odyssey V
Culdcept Revolt
Yokai Watch 2 Psychic Specters
Kirby
River City Rival Showdown
RPG Maker FES

As far as retail releases go. That's most of it with my listing. This doesn't include eshop stuff like mighty Gunvolt burst, timespinners or shakedown Hawaii.

Re: Feature: The Growing Pains of Curation on the Nintendo Switch eShop

Pikachupwnage

Their approach is flawed but overall reasonable. They likely do not have the resources to get Dev kits and giver proper technical support to the sheer flood of Indie developers wanting to develop and to be frank certain developers I certainly would just pretend I never got their emails(RCMADIAX for example)

Shovelware damaged their reputation

And yeah I do get the point about anonymous. It does drive me nuts when you get "anonymous insiders" and suddenly everyone is losing thier minds online because insert person, group or company is so evil to treat that person that way,

I don't doubt there are some problems here but you gotta be careful with anonymous stories that are only one side of the story.

No doubt this article is already being used to troll on gamefaqs by Linetrix or one of the usual suspects who made the Wii U board one of the most toxic places on that site.

Re: Arzest Emerges as Developer of Hey! Pikmin

Pikachupwnage

Let's be real though. Olympic Games is not impressive because it's a bunch of glorified sports mini games and you can't really blame them for being given that sort of project. and New Island only gets a bad because everyone loves the SNES game and immediately jumping on the art style despite it fitting with the Yoshi's series(Also the tendency of the internet to label the anything that isn't a 10/10 as the worst thing to ever happen)

Not arguing that either game is amazing but both are average at worst. Hey Pikmin is something a bit more different from other games in its series so it can stand out a little more.

I think we can be confident Hey Pikmin will be a solid game

Re: Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters Will Spook the North American Market This Fall

Pikachupwnage

I just want to point out that Yokai Watch 2 was an outlier in the series. The series was a "fad" to a extent in that it couldn't maintain its mega popularity for long

It did a lot more than the first in Japan and a lot more than the third as well. The first did 1.29 million in Japan. The second did over 3.1 million(in the first game. The third version did another 3 million or so)

But the third dropped to about the same as the first at 1.37 million.

The first Yokai Watch actually has sold faster in Europe than Japan. As of December 31st it's at 700K which is more than first did In Japan in the same length of time after release.

As for America it's somewhere around 400K as of June 10th 2016. Notably slower than Europe but hardly bad. No updates on American sales since.

I ended up not getting YW2 because my backlog at the time and annoyance over preorder exclusive content but I will probably get this enhanced Version.

Re: Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Grow in Japan as Monster Hunter Stays at Number One

Pikachupwnage

For the record Capcom is expecting about 2 million copies shipped by march 31st and sellthrough week 1 was around 80%

That figure includes digital sales BTW which are not tracked by media create.

So basically the game is doing more or less as Capcom expected. It's doing less because of it being a G version(4G did about 40% less in Japan compared to 4) and this is also the FIFTH main series Monster Hunter on 3DS and the fourth 4th gen game, That is more than any other system

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is Officially One Of The Best Games Of All Time

Pikachupwnage

@-Green-

Metacritic user scores are useless because it has absolutely no standards for you to post. You can type one sentence and give a game a zero and get posted almost instantly.

There are literally reviews that reads as follow

"Like the other people giving this game low ratings, I have not played it, nor will I ever. However, I do not like Nintendo so I am giving this a zero. Haha"

"I'm from a Sony fanboy site named a9vg, they say this game is trash, so I give it a 0, since I can't give minus score.
There are so many gamers in a9 has no consoles but still see themselves as Sony fanboy and keep saying that Nintendo is trash."

"Of course it's not a bad game, but all the 10/10 reviews are totally overrated. The game becomes rather repetive after a couple of hours, the console made for this game can't even provide 30fps in the age of 60fps. The graphics look like it's a 2008 game at best, so how the hell can this be 10/10? Especially since we know games like Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2, The Witcher 3, etc. The usual nintendo hype train arrived and probably paid most of the magazine... "

"Horrible game!

Soundtrack: boring ambience and weird classic music, very annoying to listen to and hurts your ears! 0/10
Gameplay: Boring! There are old Atari games more fun than this garbage, absolutely no innovation! 0/10
Graphics/artstyle: This game is so ugly! Looks like a Nintendo 64 game! Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Madden look so much better! 0/10
Story: Link is a boring bland character, and one of the worst characters in video game history. The story is boring and not at all cinematic, unlike Call of Duty and Halo. I fell asleep watching the cutscenes! 0/10
Optimization: Horrible. The game came on this weird card thing instead of a disk which wouldn't work on my Xbox One S or PS4 Pro, so I was forced to play it on this weird thing called the Nintendo Switch. The Switch is an awful children's console that's all clunky and weird, not recommended! The graphics are already terrible, and it has a bad framerate! 0/10 Horrible game!"

Overall score: 0/10! I couldn't recommend this game to anybody! Do yourself a favor and skip this game at all costs! It wouldn't even be worth it if it was free. If you want a fun and better cinematic experience I recommend Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or Madden NFL 17 for the Xbox One."

Basically there are a ton of troll reviews and people deliberately lowering the score. Look for user reviews in a place with some basic submission standards like gamefaqs.

You don't have the agree that it's the best game ever but giving a game a zero almost always means your opinion is not worth listening to. A game needs to be fundamentally broken and unenjoyable on every level to to garner such a score and being notable below the the general consensus you really need to give a good detailed explanation as to why if you want to be taken seriously instead of going "5/10 it sucks cuz it's overrated"

Re: Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop Will Be Open For Business On 3DS This April

Pikachupwnage

@Firelork this,

We just got several notable games in the last few months(Yoshi, Pokémon, Mario Maker etc.) plus some smaller stuff(dragon ball fusions, dragon quest VIII) and we have...

Ever Oasis
Pikmin
Mario Sports Superstars
Fire Emblem Warriors
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Yokai Watch 2/3(depending on region)
Lady Layton
Blaster Master Zero
RPG Maker FES
Runbow Deluxe
Story of Seasons Trio of towns
Monster Hunter Double Cross
Untitled Shin Megami Tensei Game
Etrian Odyssey V
Boxboy 3

A handful of these technically aren't confirmed for localization...but every Etrian odyssey(even the spinoffs) have come west, pretty much every Megaten game since the PS2 era has come ever, MH has done over 3 million copies in the west on 3DS(1.6 million 4U, About 900K for Gen and about 600K+ for 3U) so double cross seems likely too.

I probably missed a few and there are plenty to of indie games and other possible localizations told(DQM Joker 3, DQXI, Alliance Alive puzzles and dragons X etc)

Re: 3DS Enjoys Bumper End To 2016 With Hardware And Software Sales Both Up

Pikachupwnage

@Nintendofan83 3+ months? The game has been out for just over 2 months and the period of sales for the game covered here (from its release on November 18th to December 31st) isn't even a full month and a half.

It did this much in roughly a month and a half. I am pretty sure this would be one of the single fastest selling single platform games of all time. Like top 5 fast.

Re: By The Way, The Joy-Con Grip Bundled With Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Your Joy-Cons

Pikachupwnage

Yeah this really isn't much of an issue. Unless you do a huge amount of traveling away from your home you will always be able to charge it before it runs out without it getting in the way of your gaming. Just dock it before you go to bed.

The real issue is charging 70$ for a pro controller. That is about twice what a reasonable price would be. It doesn't have any special gimmicks. At least the joycons have IR, HD rumble and motion controls. I can get charging that much for a pair of those because they have some tech that might cost a bit in them. I will just buy a cheap third party knockoff of the pro controller or wait for a half off Black Friday sale or something if I need a pro controller.

Re: Nintendo Switch Will Be Easier To Find Than The NES Classic At Launch, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Pikachupwnage

Of course 3DS will survive for longer. The install base is still buying a lot of games in Japan and it was up SIX MONTHS STRAIGHT year on year in America and just had its single biggest software sales month in America ever in November

We already have this games incoming with the year having barely even started

Pikmin
Mario Sports Superstars
Ever Oasis
Yoshi and Poochy's Wooly World
Story of Seasons Trio of Towns
Etrian Odyssey V(we all know it will happen. Every game has come over.)
Dragon Quest VIII
Lady Layton
Snack World
Yokai Watch 2(Europe. America probably getting Yokai watch 3)
Runbow Deluxe
New untitled Shin Megami Tensei game
Blaster Master Zero
Shovel Knight: Specter of vengeance(it's basically a prequel and being treated like its own release. I think it's worthy of its own slot in a list)
Etc.

And dozens of indie games incoming. Plus plenty of localizations with a good chance of happening too like Miitopia. Alliance Alive, Monster Hunter Double Cross etc.

No 3DS is not going to be alive in 2020 or anything but good lord people stop acting like 3DS dies the instant switch hits shelves. Plenty of games currently still in development, waiting for localization and a handful of devs will stick around extra long.

3DS will have a strong 2017 and at least a few solid 2018 games(and probably still a fair amount of indie stuff still too)
