Re: Nintendo Still Expects To Hit 100 Million Switch Software Sales This Financial Year

Pikachupwnage

The hardware target is still up in the air but possible.

Software target is absolutely in the bag. They did 42 Million in the first two Quarters largely on evergreens, spinoffs and ports.

Holiday boost + various bundles(Odyssey, Kart, Rabbids, Tennis, Smash etc. depending on region and such) + Pokémon + Record breaking MP sales + Record Breaking smash sales + Absurdly High attach rate evergreens...they are gonna sell more than the first two quarters combined

Honestly I think they will hit that 100 million by the end of Q3 or be so close they would effortlessly pass the goal before January ends.

Smash, Pokémon and Party are going to do over 20 Million combined alone. Smash did 5 Million in three days. Pokémon did 3 Million in a week and Super Mario Party did 1.5 Million in October(it’s done over 1.4 Million in NA alone now and ~600K at retail in japan)

So yeah. Smash will pass 10 Million. Pokémon will probably be towards the upper middle range of 5-10 Million. And Super Mario Party will do 4 Million+

Sadly it can take awhile before enough evidence/allegations are brought to the attention of those with the power to do anything. In cases of nepotism it’s even worse.

And it’s easy enough to without evidence simply go “Yeah that person I fired was pretty crazy. Such a liar” for awhile. Companies aren’t gonna fire someone so high level he said she said or three.

And like the article says there was good pay for many so a lot of people probably just were like “Just stay quiet and think of the paycheck.”

When the only people above you are the heads of the entire worldwide company itself chances are it’s gonna take a lot to get it noticed by them.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Money-Saving Black Friday Deals For Switch And 2DS In The US

Pikachupwnage

@Pikachupwnage That said I think if Nintendo wants to keep the 3DS family going in 2019 and beyond...a price drop of 2DS to 59.99$ or even 49.99$ would be a good move in early-mid 2019.

And more Selects titles. They release those too slow. Last couple years it’s been 2-3 in Q1(CY) and that’s it(In America at least)

Plenty of good candidates for Selects releases.

Miitopia
Bravely Default(limited print)
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D(Limited print)
Starfox 64 3D(Limited Print)
Fire Emblem Awakening
Kid Icarus Uprising
Fire Emblem Fates(Especially as they can still sell DLC and the other routes to people)
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon
Detective Pikachu(Near the movie’s release in 2019)
Super Mario Maker
Super Smash Bros
Metriod Samus Returns
Kirby Planet Robobot
Style Savvy Trendsetters
Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask 3D

And yes I know Bravely is a third party game...but Nintendo published it in the west and third party games have been Selects before.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Money-Saving Black Friday Deals For Switch And 2DS In The US

Pikachupwnage

@GameOtaku

80$ for 2DSXL is a quite steep discount...that is 70$ off. N3DSXL would be 120$.

Doesn’t sound very likely.

Anyways solid deals. It was pretty unrealistic to expect an official price drop for Switch even just for Black Friday.

I don’t expect to see any official price drop of any sort until PS5 is near(2020). Maybe a deal for 250$ Switch next Black Friday. Though they will probably just do a bundle or three at 300$(Pokémon Gen 8, Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros etc.)

Re: The 3DS Is Far From Dead, Nintendo Says It's "Continuing With Efforts To Expand Sales"

Pikachupwnage

@carlos82

The resources being put into 3DS are trivial and would not do much for Switch. They have a small handful of second party/third party developers making ports pretty much.

3DS lets them tap into a market Switch is hard pressed to hit right now because the far lower price of entry.

Reggie said awhile ago 3DS is a way to get kids into Nintendo so they buy a Switch down the line.

3DS is pretty much a form of marketing for Switch that also makes a bit of easy money as a bonus.

If 3DS were to be completely dropped the increase in software production for Switch would be nearly imperceptible.

Do your research.

https://pokemongohub.net/post/news/meltan-mystery-box-announced-new-special-research-coming-new-videos-new-mystery/

“New Special Research quests will be coming to Pokemon GO that will let you embark on a search for the Mythical Pokémon Meltan. Look forward to this new Special Research this winter, when you can participate in various investigations with Professor Willow and catch Meltan!”

Let’s go just let’s you get more Meltan. But you can get one without it.

@Mando44646

This cannot be a serious question...

First of all a Switch version of the game never existed. This released in japan a nearly a year before Switch was released and before it was fully announced. A Localization isn’t going to make a Switch version for the west only.

Second. Google exists. For such a basic question seriously man just google it.

Re: The Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 3DS Games (As Of June 2018)

Re: The Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 3DS Games (As Of June 2018)

Pikachupwnage

@Cynas

It’s really popular in Japan and Europe. And it did solid in America too.

Anyways it’s not surprising to see Zelda missing. Look at DS Top ten(In millions)

New Super Mario Bros: 30.80 million
nintendogs
: 23.96 million
Mario Kart DS
 23.60 million
Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day
19.01 million
Pokémon Diamond Version/Pearl Version
 17.67
Pokémon Black Version/White Version
 16.64
Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day
 14.88
Pokémon HeartGold Version/SoulSilver Version:
12.72
Animal Crossing: Wild World
: 11.75
Super Mario 64 DS
: 11.06

Wii is similar.

Zelda sells systems and is a critical darling and always does well In Sales...but it doesn’t hit as wide an audience as Mario, Pokemon etc.

BOTW is the first Zelda game that is looking to sell on par with Mario Platformers, Pokemon and the like. 9.48 Million(Switch version alone) and it’s not losing any momentum at all.

However as of March 31st 2018 Ocarina of time 3D was at 5.60 Million in sales. Behind only Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon netting it the #12 spot. We haven’t had a sales update on Link Between world since March 2014 but I dare say with it getting a Selects release(In Europe a couple years back and America early this year) and a hardware bundle at GameStop, as well as being freakin Zelda it’s probably not too far behind OOT.

Re: WarioWare Gold Just Squeezes Into UK Top 40 As Crash Bandicoot's Chart Supremacy Continues

Pikachupwnage

UK hasn’t exactly been the best market for 3DS in general. It had its moments but in general 3DS games have done far worse than Switch games have in general even looking back several years. I am more curious to see how it does in France, the US and Japan.

And yeah those reviews have been really slow in coming up which probably didn’t help with visibility for the game....

Re: Picross S2 Arrives On Switch Next Week Bringing A Brand New Mode To The Series

Pikachupwnage

I wish the S series would be on 3DS too. I prefer touchscreen controls for picross, 3DS is easier and safer for me to take with me outside the house and I find the 3$ premium they charge for roughly the same content as the e series annoying...although they might still do the 7.99$ on 3DS too in that case. Really silly to not support touch controls. There are Switch Stylus pens....

I hope they at least keep doing the e series. We got e8 and Sanrio Characters picross between S1 and S2...here is hoping for e9.

That said almost certainly buying this when my 3DS picross backlog dries up.

Re: Nintendo UK Is Asking For As Much As £180 To Repair Cracked Switch Consoles

Pikachupwnage

@ReaderRagfish

Also there probably are at least a few troll votes and users who actually did(knowingly or not) physically cause this via poorhandling, an accident etc.

Like this is not a non issue but I do strongly doubt the general populace has a 20% rate.

More disgusted at the repair cost. More than half the cost of the unit for a fairly basic repair? Should be a shipping/handling/processing fee and than you get charged the raw cost of materials for repair + the repairman’s fee.

Dunno what it would cost but it certainly would be a lot less than this nonsense.
