Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Gets A Release Date, And It's Sooner Than You Think

Pikachupwnage

@rawzeku

It's possible the game is essentially complete and they were going to sit in it a few months to give their June releases and a presumable July/August splatoon 3 some space. Perhaps Splatoon 2 suffered a minor internal delay so they pushed this forward and Splatoon 3 will be August/September.

It's not like Nintendo to rush games unless they are desperate(Mario tennis Ultra Smash on Wii U oof). Considering they delayed at least 2 games in the last couple months and it's a very small change it's nothing to be concerned about.

Re: Feature: 6 Things We Pokémon Vets Want To See In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Pikachupwnage

Just let us straight up select our team and their Ivs/Evs/Nature for online. Just give us a built in team builder(but let us use our own if we want)

I like raising critter's but I just don't have the time to grind out all the items and then get those IVs, nature's and EVs right. I can't spend several hundred hours breeding like I did a decade ago I got so much more responsibility in my life. The raising should be only required for official tournaments and single player content.

Also don't do anything like dynamax again. Megas were fine because it was limited and prevented other held items on that mon so it was fairly predictable and the power boost wasn't completely insane usually as no Choice Band or leftovers.

Agree with challenge mode and eeveelution big time.

I want a more robust selection of outfits. The variety is godawful it's like 6 things and a million color/pattern variants per thing.

Alola being focused on warm weather clothes was fine but it did have caverns and a mountain and even Hawaii gets chilly sometimes in the dead of winter. Coats/jackets not existing was wierd and fashion often does NOT care about practicality. Some people totally would sweat their tushies off for the sake of showing their wealth or simply to be stylish as heck.

Battle frontier and pokemon being as expressive as Stadium and pokemon Snap would be great.

Finally make the "Pokemon used tackle message) show DURING the animation and disappear immediately after the animation. Only show messages for the first and last turn off a multi turn effect like Hail damage instead of EVERY turn taking several seconds to do so.

Also make the linking cable item be in every game.

Re: GTA Trilogy Dev Responds To Fan Frustrations, Says Updates Are Already In The Works

Pikachupwnage

I'll check back in six months to see if the game runs mostly smooth 30fps, has rain that doesn't look like it's from a SNES or N64 game, decreases POP-in drastically , changes the most deformed models to look human, adds in clouds, fixes some egregiously unfinished models like the motorcycles, and much much more.

And only buying used to spite Rockstar IF the vast majority of issues are fixed.

Re: Review: Shakedown: Hawaii - A Promising Game Buried Beneath Tedious Busywork

Pikachupwnage

@H_Hunter

Not even close because Kickstarter is not in the picture and this game simply stumbles rather than being a borderline broken mess. Nor was this game being made by a famous industry veteran .

Plus this game has a pleasing astheic. Mighty no 9 graphically ranges from dull to offensively ugly.

Tbh mighty no 9 was scored too high by reviewers including Nintendolife.. 5/10 was a laughably high score.

“Unfortunately, it doesn't feel like the stages were designed with the dash in mind. Often, levels filled with instant death-traps are so cheap that after a few tries you'll want to go as slowly and methodically as possible so as not to dash and die. There's a difference between challenging and frustrating, and Mighty No. 9 constantly finds itself in the latter category.”

“One particularly infuriating stage has a section that is seemingly a dead-end. Clearly someone behind the scenes noticed, because a hint message appears on the screen telling you exactly what to do. This wouldn't be so bad if hint messages popped up throughout the game, but this was the only instance of a hint message outside the tutorial stage. If something is so obtuse that you need to give the player a text prompt for them to continue, then level design tweaks are surely required.”

“The consensus here is simple: don't bother with the multiplayer. The netcode feels completely broken, and both modes would have been much better suited to local play.”

“Amazingly, we're not quite done with the negatives yet. The game performs poorly overall on the Wii U, struggling to maintain a stable pace. If there's too much happening on screen the game will behave like it's on a PC that can't handle the software. Quite frankly, the visuals are mystifying in their rough, poorly shaded and lifeless state””

“The music is generic, meanwhile, and the option to switch to retro, chiptune-style fails to excite as the compositions are so simplistic“

Considering all the negatives they didn’t even touch on...and the fact that the review contains “Amazingly, we're not quite done with the negatives yet.” IDK how a 5/10 is a thing. The game is not Medicore. It’s straight up bad.

https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/wiiu/mighty_no_9

My take.

-It’s own mechanics worked against itself. They did NOT handle or balance the dash, xel or weapon systems well at all.
-The stage design was often tedious, or straight up unfair with insta death, lack of sign posting, forced damage, pixel perfect platforming, misleading visual design elements, poor rewards for exploring or even punishment/negation of rewards for exploring and occasional issues with the foreground obfuscating gameplay.
-Dull-Ugly graphics
-Control, pacing and U.I issues.
-Depends somewhat on platform but frame rate issues, bugs, bad load times, crashes etc, were distressingly common
Etc.

The game ranged from barely functional to broken most the time.

Re: Monster Hunter Generations Hits 3 Million Sales Across Switch And 3DS

Pikachupwnage

The breakdown is roughly 1.2 Million on Switch and roughly 1.8 Million on 3DS,as 1.8 Million is where the 3DS version sales stopped at(looking at previous updates of the platinum sellers list) and obviously given the Switch version, the typical legs of a traditional MH game in japan, and the lack of data from any source such as media create/famitsu indicating any notable sales of the 3DS version it’s likely little sales have been made since on the 3Ds Version.

Also it’s Generations Ultimate/XX not generations.

The original generations did 4.3 Million worldwide on 3DS.

This is a very sloppy article..

Re: Pokémon GO Update Makes Raid Bosses Harder To Beat, New Sinnoh Pokémon Now Available

Pikachupwnage

Wooooow what the ****? Surely they boosted drop rates of rare candy and TMs vastly as well as catch rates to make up for it being harder right?

It’s winter so it’s harder to get raid players anyways.....but rural players, disabled players, those who don’t live in an active area or simply don’t have the time

Besides the only people who can solo tier 4 raids are Endgame longtime players with full optimized teams of six Machamp/Kyogre and the like.

And tier 5 raids were still mathematically impossible to solo so why are they making them harder? Why are you making it nigh impossible for a mostly solo player to get rare candy and TMs?

I don’t have the mobility or social skills to do raids with people much. It takes like 30+ minutes walking just to get to a halfway decent raiding area in my area.

I don’t have that kind of time and for like half the year it’s too hot or cold to walk that far. I also have a job so days where I have both the time and energy to do that aren’t super abundant.

Just completely ruin raiding why don’t you....it was still tough to solo tier 3 raids and the only reason one could even solo tier 4s(with great difficulty mind you) was bevause they buffed the effect of super effective moves.

Literally all they had to so was raise the HP of the Pokémon equivalent to that buff to make it back to how it was.

They didn’t have to make Tier 3’s non soloable....you know like they have been with a high level, well made team for like for what a year+ now? The window to change that ended a long time ago. You don’t change longtime features majorly like that.

They should be refunding everyone for every premium raid pass they have led in their inventory

There was a good size playerbase of Endgame players with nothing left to do who challenged themselves to solo as many raids as possible often with handicaps.

So you just lost them too.

What a cluster****.

Refund me for every single premium raid pass in my inventory Niantic.

Re: UK Charts: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Launch Sales 24.8% Higher Than On Wii U, Hits Number One

Pikachupwnage

@pdapanda

And? The UK is a smaller market than say...the United States. Possibly japan to by a much smaller margin. Don’t think in terms of “ZOMG Million seller!” because outside of like FIFA, COD and maybe 1-2 outliers a year it doesn’t really happen in the UK.

These are the numbers for the top 20 selling games in the UK in

1 FIFA 19 1,889,401
2 Red Dead Redemption 2: 1,757,212
3 Call of Duty: Black Ops 4: 1,172,855
4 Spider-Man 676,621
5 Mario Kart 8: Deluxe 458,675
6 Far Cry 5: 434,133
7 Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy 430,551
8 God of War 399,395
9 Forza Horizon 4 392,960
10 FIFA 18: 351,788
11 Grand Theft Auto V 339,805
12 Spyro Reignited Trilogy 333,725
13 Battlefield V 313,100
14 Assassin's Creed Odyssey 305,937
15 Super Smash Bros Ultimate 284,155
16 Super Mario Odyssey 240,710
17 Call of Duty: WWII 230,576
18 Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu 227,767
19 Shadow of the Tomb Raider 226,125
20 Fallout 76: 218,534

A mere three games passed the Million seller mark.

In the United States I can assure that there are many more million sellers

Confirmed (officially or not)

Smash Ultimate
Pokémon Let’s Go
Super Mario Party
Super Mario Odyssey
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Spider-Man
Call of Duty Black OPS 4
Red Dead Redemption 2
Grand Theft Auto V
Monster Hunter World
And quite a few more

Re: Random: Project Cars Studio Is Creating Its Own Games Console, The Mad Box

Pikachupwnage

I except the company to shutter or be forced to downsize within five years. Could easily be earlier

Lmao. Why on earth would you announce it this far ahead? Why on earth would you try to compete with the big three?

And frankly if you don’t believe in exclusives why on earth would anyone buy it over the systems with established libraries, brands and a bunch of exclusives? If they want top of the line specs they will just build a PC. If they want Exclusives they will buy Switch or PS4/PS5

You won’t have as much freedom on pricing as the big companies do. It will be harder to get good deals with major manufacturers as it’s hard to safely assure enough volume and long term sales and a loss leader strategy will likely be impossible.

This thing is gonna flop. Ouya gonna have a new buddy in the “dead on arrival” club(which happens to host its meetings in a graveyard due to Ouya resisiding there)

Vita has an honorary membership and Virtual Boy Started the club though it has some old geezers everyone forgot about complaining they did it before it was cool.
