Christopher Lee, of course, deserves a mention when it comes to Dracula, but I still feel that Lugosi had the edge in that role. It's frankly incredible to see his likeness in a modern video game. It would be amazing if they could achieve similar for Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr, for games relating to Frankenstein and The Wolf Man respectively. As long as it is respectful, and carried out in collaboration with living relatives, like this example.

The NA one has to be one of the blandest covers I have ever seen. The Japanese one is a bit more colourful, but the "What is it?" kind of sums both covers up. Then again, it is a pretty tough game to market!

@-wc- I think I can see what you're getting at, but... don't underestimate the power of laziness! 😆 Just imagine having such a gigantic library of games in one place, without having to maintain and charge two systems. It's an alluring thought for me, personally.

@-wc- I guess that it's more convenient if you can play all of your games on one console, rather than having to switch (sic!) between two? Also handy for "forever" games like Isaac, as I could take my 1,000+ hours over to the new device.

Does that mean that the Switch 2 will also be using these tiny cartridges? That would surprise me.

Will be continuing with Killer7 and Ys: Memories Of Celceta on the ROG Ally. I have also started Isaac again from scratch, but am also continuing to play it on my Switch, where I have 1000+ hours on it. This is rather confusing, and I sure do miss having Isaac starting with the D6 when playing on the Ally! @ChromaticDracula @thor8467 The name is the first thing which drew me to it! "Holy Magic Century" just sounds so mysterious and intriguing. I was quite surprised that they used such a generic name in the States. I did beat it at the time... I remember it being quite hard! Some wailing on my part, I think! 😆 I don't think that it got great reviews at the time, and does not seem to be fondly remembered in general, but I loved the look and feel of it, and really became heavily invested in it. Popolocrois caught my eye at the time, but I never got round to it, sadly. ☹️

I have now switched over to the ROG Ally X as my main device, but am continuing to use my Switch for commutes. Am playing Killer7 (sublime) and Isaac on the Ally currently, and have a yearning to play Ys: Memories Of Celceta before Nordics. Apparently, Celceta will not run on the Steam Deck, but should be okay on the Ally, due to Windows. I am playing Isaac and Balatro on the Switch. Which means that I am playing Isaac on two different systems, in wildly different states! I think that I have owned Isaac on six different systems now. @Teksetter Aw, thank you! I think it will help that I haven't "turned against" Nintendo at all, far from it, so there won't be any bile or ranting from me. I won't be saying how other platforms are better, because that wouldn't be true. Hell, if I'm going to rant about anything, it will be about how painful navigating Windows 11 can be on a handheld! 😆 As for tempting me back over... I still adore Nintendo. And... if the next main line Pokemon game is a banger, I will definitely be casting covetous glances over the fence! Same if there are remasters or remakes of OOT or Majora. Also... I would defo have both if it was feasible (ROG Ally and "Switch 2"), but it sadly probably wouldn't be in my case. So, yeah, I think it will work out okay.

If you get one character wrong, do you need to enter the whole thing again? I can seldom enter a gift card code without getting it wrong at least twice! 😆

@Zuljaras Am hearing you on all of that, for sure! But I never play FPS or strategy games (although one should never say never, right?). I do like point and clicks, but they're usually fine with console controls. I think it's going to be a good "fit" for me, but time will tell! Maybe I will miss it with dungeon crawlers, though.

@Zuljaras Hey there! Good question! I deliberated a lot, but went for the Ally (X), as it has better specs, more storage, better battery life, and is a bit friendlier when it comes to using other stores. The track pads were a consideration, seeing as it is a handheld PC! Let's see if I got it wrong! And I should edit my post above to mention it's an X.

As we approach the end of our time with the Switch, I have been considering what to do next. The main reason to stick with Nintendo, of course, is for the first party games, and a lot of them just haven't gelled with me this gen. So, with a somewhat heavy heart, I have decided to go with the Rog Ally X next. I should be picking it up today. One of the saddest things for me is that I wouldn't want to end my time here. I love the community here, and begin and end each day with NL. But, at the same time, it could be annoying for others if I am banging on about PC games a lot of the time! We already have one guy with a PS5 fixation who causes annoyance. 😉 Maybe the Switch will become my Isaac and Balatro machine, as I may not wish to start them again (1,010 hours in Isaac, around 240 in Balatro). Let us see. I have no desire to become a blot on the NL landscape... if I am not one already!

First game on Rog for me? Killer7. 😊 Closely followed by Day Of The Tentacle, and Eye Of The Beholder. See? It's starting already! 😆

Whenever I hear "Miyamoto", "Musashi" is my immediate association. He is legendary. A truly intriguing figure.

Ys 8 blew me away, I thought it was incredible. Great story, too. Ys 9 left me cold, for some reason... the city setting was so drab and featureless. I always feel that Ys is at its best in natural settings... Celceta was also lovely. If Adol is back to nature in 10, I would have very high hopes.

I already mentioned this elsewhere, but... it's a reference to how much it will weigh. World's smallest console!

@Riff-the-Don On the UK Nintendo page, at least, it lists the steel book as being a "bonus item". It's a bit odd how they didn't just include it in the bundle itself... gives me a feeling of uncertainty, somehow... as if it is not guaranteed?

I've finally managed to find something to get into... Regions Of Ruin. It's a bit of a hidden gem. It has some rough edges for sure, but I am finding it quite compelling. It's a nice action RPG with town building elements to it. Great fun so far, and something I can get lost in.

I have also returned to Balatro. I managed to reach the 14th ante, at last! It was the first time that I have ever gained "e" scores, and I almost made it to the 15th! That was something.

I remember playing Pokemon Blue when it first came out, and being more than a little taken aback by the Pokédex entry! Definitely not in the cute and cuddly category, this one! I always felt bad fighting them, though... they don't deserve any more suffering. ☹️

I got my mitts on the Evercade Thalamus cart, at last. I accidentally ordered it from Denmark without realising (only place I could find it, looked like a UK site!). It's a fantastic collection. C.R.E.A.T.U.R.E.S. is still superb, as are Retrograde and Hawkeye. I am also looking forward to revisiting Summer Camp and Nobby.

I am finding it really hard to find something to get into on the Switch. Have been bouncing off most things recently. Am tinkering with Gundam Breakers 4, but am finding it a bit odd so far. The combat feels "off", and the story is just awful (in my opinion!). Will stick with it, but it has a weird feel to it. Maybe just not for me!

I need something to really get into, so will try the Trails Through Daybreak demo. Am also eyeing up the demos for SaGa Emerald Beyond and Fate / Samurai Remnant.

It's Game Mill, so better performance on PS5 isn't guaranteed. Maybe check some PS5 reviews first, performance wise, just in case.

@Anti-Matter I can really understand being excited about something before release, but suppose that it is half finished and riddled with bugs (or just really boring). It just seems difficult to judge a game before actually playing it. I was there for Rise Of The Robots in 1994. I know how it feels! 😆

@Anti-Matter Barbie Project Friendship hasn't released yet, has it? How can it be your GOTY, unless you've managed to play it somehow? It could be a wreck, for all you know right now. Maybe safest to wait and see!
