Soccer Kid Collection - They're stretching the definition of "collection" a little bit here! 😆 Shame they couldn't get the Amiga or 3DO versions, but the DOS version is very good. Also, to be fair, the DOS and SNES versions do feature different levels. I have always loved this game, so I am happy enough! Still looks gorgeous, and still feels inventive. Maybe they will add more versions later, as they did with Glover.

Project Zero: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse - This has been in my backlog for a little while. I love the atmosphere and the lore, and the exploration is great, but, man... the combat is super frustrating at times, with ghosts coming from behind, and through walls to the side. I guess that constantly moving is the key, but fighting groups of ghosts is beyond testing!

Mouser - I really love this, it just feels so nice to play. Level 2-3 is a killer, though... 😆

Saboten Bombers - Had never heard of this one, but I love these single screen "elimination" type games. Quite strategic and thoughtful (spamming bombs is deadly!). I think I will enjoy this one.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.

Thanks to the Evercade, I'm in a total retro mood, so I'm having a Hamster bonanza on the Switch 2 at the moment! I already own quite a few, and have added a few new ones. I want to try some of the more obscure ones, as well as some faves. Am playing all of them in hi-score mode.

Jailbreak - When I was a kid, I would always play this in the arcades, but could never get past the second level. Now, as an adult... I still can't! Love this game, but I don't know why! 😆

Mouser - Have never played this one before. I love this type of game, and this one is great fun. I can make it up to 2-3, but then hit a brick wall. I am really enjoying this, and it's really cute, too!

Mutant Night - I remember playing this in the arcades. Deeply bizarre game... really strange, and I was quite unsettled by it as a kid. Curiously short levels. Strangely addictive, but really hard!

Mr. Do! - I love this game, although I am awful at it!!! Need to rethink my strategy!

Rod-Land - Once upon a time, I could complete this. I think it's an all time classic, this one.

H.E.R.O. (Evercade) - I can now consistently reach level 13... but not pass it.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.

@JohnnyMind Hey there... yes, I do believe that the difficulty can be changed at any time, although I don't think that I utilised the option at any point, I just stayed on normal... and I'm not exactly the most highly skilled gamer ever, so you should be just fine on normal! 😆

Re: Lies Of P's Soulslike Puppetry Comes To Switch 2 This August

Ooyah

@JohnnyMind I think that, even on normal, it's not as hard as other souls-likes although, having said that, some of the bosses can be a pain! But there are lots of different ways to build your character depending upon your preferred style of play, so it's usually possible to find a satisfying way through. I hope you enjoy it if you do go for it! I will look out for it on your weekend list. 😊

I have banged on about this one before, but it really is tremendous. I loved it so much on Steam that I ended up on NG+++++++++. Just couldn't stop playing it. Movement and combat are just gorgeous. Great story and characters. I will probably double dip, although I know it like the back of my hand now! 😆 Am so happy to see it come to Switch 2 at last.

Ys Memoire: Revelations In Celceta - Carrying on with my NG++, to try and properly 100% the game.

CHASM - This was on a deep sale, and it reminded me of Risky Woods, for some reason, and that is all it took! 😆 Perfectly nice little Metroidvania which, as usual, improves greatly upon acquiring a few abilities. Does nothing new so far, but I am still enjoying it. Looks lovely, and has lots of different enemy types. Am five hours in.

H.E.R.O. (Evercade) - I can usually reach level 13 now. Am not using save states... when I die, I restart from level 1, just like we used to! 😊 It really is a superbly designed game, just wonderful. I think that I could reach level 17 as a kid...

Seaquest (Evercade) - This reminds me of a Mastertronic game which I loved on the C64 (quick Google... I think it was Sub Hunt), which must have been a clone of this (although this in itself apparently copies an earlier arcade game!). Very fun shooter.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there!

@Teksette @World I actually have The Empire Strikes Back on the 2600, so I just checked the box... it was published by Parker Bros. Did you guys ever play the Indiana Jones game on the 2600? That was way ahead of its time, and quite an achievement. Sadly, I don't still have that one! ☚ī¸

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th May)

@Teksette H.E.R.O. would be the best Atari 2600 game I've played... and I've played a few! 😆 I played it back in the day, and it blew me away then... and still does now! I also adore Pitfall 2, and that will be up next for sure! I really hope that you enjoy H.E.R.O. when you get around to it. Let me know what you think, if you can. 😊

Ys Memoire: Revelations In Celceta - I have been enjoying this so much that I am now on NG++, in an attempt to properly 100% it. Wonderful game.

H.E.R.O. (Evercade) - For me, this is the main event of the Activision cartridges. I was so happy to see this included, it's an all time classic. Clever, tense, superbly designed, and endlessly playable, it's a total joy.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.

Re: Valve Follows Switch 2, PS5 & Xbox With Major Steam Deck Price Hike

Ooyah

@Whoever That sounds fair enough! It's a funny thing, though, because, before I made my decision, I checked quite a few games on Steam, and the Deck compatibility box very often said that it wasn't compatible. It is rather off-putting! But I am glad to hear that a bit of tinkering can do the trick!

Re: Valve Follows Switch 2, PS5 & Xbox With Major Steam Deck Price Hike

I have a ROG Ally X which is really good. Looks like it has gone up ÂŖ50 since I got it, which isn't bad. I've always been confused by the Steam Deck, as it's not compatible with so many of the games on Steam. I didn't get one for that reason. The Ally runs Windows 11, so it can run most things on Steam.

Would make for a nice pencil case. Seeing it gave me a spark of nostalgia... I remember how kids took pride at school over who had the best pencil case! I had a really cool one which was like a space shuttle. I think I won the pencil case arms race that term... 😆

Ys Memoire: Revelations In Celceta - Am wrapping up my NG+. Completed the map, after tons of running around. Was stuck on 99.97% for ages! 😆 Am still missing a few things, so am unsure what to do now. It's a Bank Holiday weekend here, so am tempted to have three days on something new. Am considering either Trails In The Sky 1st Chapter, or Tales Of Graces f Remastered. Or Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade. Argh! Can't decide! 😆 Want to refresh my palette with something different before starting Ys X. Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.

Ys Memoire: Revelations In Celceta - The idea was to complete this and then start on Ys X... but I enjoyed it so much that I went straight into New Game+! I loved this when I played it on the Vita, and enjoyed it even more this time around. Fantastic and fast-paced combat, great characters, intelligent story, whimsical atmosphere, lovely settings... it has it all. It sounds slightly odd to say, but this is my GOTY so far. Let's see if Ys X displaces it!

Dungeon Clawler - Am making the time for the odd run here and there. Fun and different game.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th May)

I'm on holiday this week. Am a bit fed up with being ill all of the time, so want to lose myself in something good... something which is guaranteed to be good.

Ys Memoire: Revelations In Celceta - There we go... all sorted! 😆 I loved this on the Vita, and it's my second favourite entry in my favourite series of games. Can't wait to revisit this.

Ys X: Proud Nordics - It's about time I played this!!!

Dungeon Clawler - This looked like something a bit different, so I thought that I would take a chance on it, and I really like it. Try not to be put off by the mobile roots... it has more depth than may appear at first, and there's lots of variety in relation to mechanics and items. It probably could have done with some more rogue-lite elements, but what is here is really enjoyable and engaging.

Once Upon A Katamari - Still wrapped up in this, it's fantastic.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd May)

Once Upon A Katamari - Still rolling around to find Cousins and presents. A real series highlight.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard From Vampire Survivors - This didn't grab me at first... but it has now! I think that things are overly restricted at first, which throttles the central mechanics of the game a bit too much. But, after a few upgrades, things really blossom. Looks and sounds great, too.

Kingdom's Return: Time-Eating Fruit And The Ancient Monster - I hate to say it, but this isn't great. The side scrolling stages are okay, but the city building aspect is a bit of a disaster, with a really cramped space, and little in the way of explanation. The game is just too basic, and needed more to it. Its roots as a mobile game haven't been expanded enough, in my opinion.

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th April)

Once Upon A Katamari - I have now rolled credits on this (literally, of course! 😆), and I honestly now view this as being one of the very best entries in the series. There are some truly fantastic levels in here, and the game is as joyous as ever. Some of the eras are under-used a bit, maybe, but it really is fantastic. I will carry on with this for sure, to find more Cousins.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard From Vampire Survivors - I played this for a few hours last night and this morning, and it isn't grabbing me so far, which has honestly surprised me. Maybe there is something wrong with me (spoiler alert... there is!!! 😆), but I am finding it a bit boring so far, maybe because of the focus on combos. But I am convinced that I am missing the point (again!), and I will continue. Maybe more unlocks transforms it. Way too soon to judge.

Kingdom's Return: Time-Eating Fruit And The Ancient Monster - This looks like just my sort of thing. Will download it today, it looks great.

I must also say that the new Moomin game looks delightful, so that will tempt me on Tuesday!

And there's Ys Celceta on Tuesday as well!!! Argh!!! 😆

Have a lovely weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.
