Was signed off work this week, following my little accident. Have been carrying on with Library Of Ruina, although I am a little stuck at the end of Urban Plague! Am struggling to complete two of the story missions, so am grinding general invites for extra books. Balatro is still a regular feature. Just cleared Purple difficulty, so on to Orange! My wife gifted me Paper Mario: TTYD, so it would have been rude not to start it! π Am about to start Chapter 3 now. Still utterly magical, even after all these years, and the new graphics are gorgeous. And... I have just started the third floor in Wizardry. Am really enjoying it so far. Have a great weekend, guys, and please take great care of yourselves out there.
@GravyThief You could make squadrons of them? Say around 100 or so? That would take some time. Or you could go for a world record! Most number of paper planes made in a week! π
@Tyranexx That did make me smile. π For the moment, I am satisfying myself with glaring at it when I walk (carefully!) past it now. I think the table may be related to Charlie Brown's kite-eating tree.
@-wc- That's a good attitude to have. I'm sure that many accidents occur in such places. Stay safe, mate. And yes... great song! π My username is taken from British comics of the 80's, where "OOYAH" was an exclamation of pain. It's really cool that you ended up at Bob Marley instead! π
For maybe the first time ever in a Box Art Brawl, I really cannot decide! They're both amazing. I think I'm ever so slightly leaning towards the NA cover. This is going to be really close, I bet.
@Tyranexx Thank you! But... I'll get it next time!!! π I wanted to throw it out of the house, but my wife believes the table to be innocent. Can you believe that? Although I guess that I did start it. Maybe I will sue it, but I'm told that it has four legs to stand on.
@JohnnyMind @Vyacheslav333 @Jhena Thanks, guys. I may need another scan, but will be fine! π
@k8sMum Ouch, that sounds awful. I take it that you are still healing? I hope that all is well very soon, and thank you for the wishes!
@-wc- Cheers, geezer. I had a bit of a fall, and accidentally attacked a table with my face. I had a bit of an accident last weekend, so have been in and out of various hospitals for appointments. I'm okay, but had less time for games as a result last week. I need to rest this weekend, so will be continuing with Library Of Ruina, and I have just started Wizardry, which is fantastic so far. The big update has landed for Balatro, so it will be fun to see the differences! I finished Animal Well, but will be going back to collect some more eggs, no doubt. Have a great weekend, guys and, for goodness sakes... BE CAREFUL! Accidents are always waiting to happen! π€
@Kulhy Lands Of Lore looks great. I love dungeon crawlers, so I can't believe that I have never heard of it before. Maybe it was PC only. Another one which has just come to mind is Legends Of Valour.
Crime deserves punishment... but not like this. The debt of ten million means that he will be punished every single day for the rest of his life. It is, basically, a punishment that will never end until he dies. If they wanted to make an example of him, they could have found a better way than this. Surely punishment should have an end-date... can anybody really justify life-long punishment?
@Pillowpants @nkarafo I had an Amiga, so most of my experiences were there. Yeah, the second Eye Of The Beholder blew me away, it was amazing! Abandoned Places had a great atmosphere, but I only had the demo on a magazine cover disc. π Ishtar looked gorgeous, but felt a bit ropey in other areas. Did you guys ever play Hired Guns? That was also very good. I also have fond memories of the original Space Hulk game. That was very hard, though! I must admit that I have never heard of Lands Of Lore! Looks interesting.
@Pillowpants I have long been hoping for ports or remakes of the Eye Of The Beholder games. I also loved Abandoned Places. And there was another series like this... Ishtar, I think?
As for Wizardry, I am not sure that I can resist this! Sounds fantastic.
@JohnnyMind Hey, geezer. Hope you're doing okay out there. Playing several things at once feels a little weird! π I thought it would be stressful, but I am enjoying it. Particularly with Ruina being quite intense... it's nice to have a "chill" moment with something else. I will try not to add to the pile, though! Are you tempted by Balatro? One hell of a game.
Oh crikey... usually I only play one game at a time, but I went a bit nuts. π€ I may need to follow the example of our esteemed Mr. Mind, in relation to the format here!
LIBRARY OF RUINA - Continues to be absolutely incredible. Is anyone else here playing it? Any fans of deck-building RPGs should check this out.
ANIMAL WELL - Have collected all four of the main "things", and am in the "final section". Fun game to mess about with.
BALATRO - Reaching the 13th Ante didn't dull my addiction! Am still loving this.
MEGATON MUSASHI WIRED W - Really good fun, with tons of upgrades!
NEPTUNIA: SISTERS VS SISTERS - I love this series... but this one is just awful so far. βΉοΈ The combat does not flow at all, and the VN sections have been dire up to now. They've missed "parody", and are just describing how things are. Hopefully it will improve.
EL SHADDAI - Have reached the tower, and am stumbling on. I still find the combat quite tricky!

Antagonist: "You stand no chance against me."
Protagonist: "Oh yeah? Well, I have this can of Red Bull. Developed by experts over a period of years. Have you not heard, old man? Red Bull gives you wings!"
Antagonist: "Oh yeah? Will it protect you against this awesome and very reasonably priced kitchen knife which I purchased in Walmart this morning? Walmart are always there for your every day needs, and their staff always put the customer first. Save money. Live better."
Was my birthday yesterday, so I got some pressies! π Shiren The Wanderer (Serpentcoil), and Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters. Have started Neptunia. It seems that the series is not "cool" these days, but I love that style of RPG. I am also carrying on with Library Of Ruina, which is simply sensational, and is a GOTY contender for me. Speaking of GOTY... I finally reached the 13th Ante of Balatro! Am still playing regularly, even after 150 hours. And, er, I also started Megaton Musashi Wired... and also have El Shaddai on the go. So I am drowning in games now! πππ Have a great weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.
@-wc- Yeah, I find this kind of thing fascinating! So, if you were at a party, and somebody said "We just about have enough beer", that would mean that there wasn't enough? Just like your good self, I am struggling to imagine using the term like this!
"All but"... once again, I was unaware that this can be used in different ways. In the UK, "he all but won the race" would mean that he didn't win, somehow... he did everything he could, and came so close, but somehow still lost. "He all but met the deadline" would mean that he just about failed to meet the deadline. And there is "just about" again! π Personally, though, I always feel that "all but" is a bit mangled!
Hang on, though... how would you interpret "just about failed"?
@-wc- That's really interesting, what you said about "just about" in America... I never knew that. But... here in the UK, "I am just about to drive away" would mean that I am leaving very soon, or was intending to, so that's a different usage. "He just about won the race", however, would mean that he won by a very small margin. In America, would it mean that he came second (if I am understanding you correctly)?
This is a tricky one for Nintendo. If they reveal it this year, and release it next year, it could cripple Christmas sales of the Switch. Although, even without a reveal, people could still hold back, knowing that a new system is coming. Best thing would be for them to reveal and release this year, but, with the June Direct being reveal-less, that seems unlikely. Hmmmm. I think they could reveal next March, and release shortly after. Maybe they have something huge for Christmas, like Metroid Prime 4.
I'm delighted that he started off with "This is Furukawa", following on from "This is Miyamoto" last year. All communications from Nintendo should follow this pattern.
Am really getting into Library Of Ruina now. It has been really quite fascinating so far, and features some incredible world building and lore. The combat is also really good and absorbing. Have also started El Shaddai, which is as brilliant as ever... and I am also continuing on with Balatro. I find myself terribly tempted by Megaton Musashi, but will need to resist for now! Have a great weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.
@Vyacheslav333 @JohnnyMind No problem, guys. I hope you enjoy the game if you get it! It's quite an unique experience!
By the way, I just thought it worth checking on the "dual audio" thing... I've seen the term used in different ways. Also, Library Of Ruina has dual audio, but it is maybe Korean and Japanese (I'm not quite sure... not localised, though).
I'm kinda blown away by Ruina so far, by the way... it's incredible. It looks like NL are revisiting their review, so it will be interesting to see what happens to the score.
@Vyacheslav333 Okay, so... for the voices, I have a choice between English and Japanese. For the subtitles, there is English, Japanese, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and a couple of others I don't recognise. I hope that is what you wanted to know. π While I am here, I will say that the voice actor for Lucifel in the English version is excellent.
@Vyacheslav333 Hey there. I am downloading El Shaddai as we speak. What is it that you would like to know? If the Japanese voice track is available as well as the local language?
This is a big week in relation to anticipated releases for me, with both Library Of Ruina and El Shaddai popping up. I started Ruina last night, but am not very far into it. Very intriguing so far! Of course, the real question is whether I can stay away from Balatro or not! Let's see. π Have a great weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.
Does that actually mean what I think it does? They're actually highlighting in game purchases as a good thing? Rather than talking about making good games, they're saying to us "WE GONNA GRAB ALL THE MONEY!!!". How do they expect us to get excited about this prospect?
Believe it or not, I am still entirely focused on Balatro. I can't remember the last time a game gripped me quite this much. I'm still messing about with the Anaglyph and Plasma decks, rather than focusing on unlocks. I still have quite a bit to do. I wonder if there is anybody else out there still obsessed with this game? Have a great weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves.
Well, I am still addicted to Balatro, but now I am addicted to maining the Anaglyph deck, which is like having an addiction within an addiction! π Storing up Double Tags and then splurging them all at once late on is so much fun. I should be trying to complete the two remaining difficulties, but am too obsessed with messing about with this! I will take a break from Anaglyph, though, to have a focus on the Plasma deck, following a chat with @KateGray. Am over 100 hours now. Crikey. Have a great weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.
@KateGray I'm completely addicted to the Anaglyph deck, now. π I save up all my double tags until the eighth or ninth Ante, and then pray for a money or Negative Joker tag. So many runs wasted like that, but I just can't stop doing it! π€ But my next runs will be with Plasma. Sounds intriguing from your description.
@KateGray Wow, that's some great going! My highest hand so far is around 25 million. I will check out the Plasma deck, thanks for the tip! I'm still maining the Anaglyph deck, to see if I can get a great set of Negatives. I ended up with 17 Jokers today, but they didn't help that much. I think it's a bit of a shame that the Blinds suddenly escalate quite that much. The sudden jump is a bit mad. I'm definitely going to keep going, though!
Wow! At least three changes that I really wanted here... Joker pack in first shop, preview of forthcoming tags and blinds in post-boss shop, and tag related cards becoming free! That last one in particular will make Anaglyph deck runs even more fun! Can't wait for this to hit the Switch.

Get two, and clip one to each ear! π
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Kirby Super Star
The Japan cover feels really classy, and Kirby looks so cute! Lovely cover.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th April)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th April)
@KateGray
I'm completely addicted to the Anaglyph deck, now. π I save up all my double tags until the eighth or ninth Ante, and then pray for a money or Negative Joker tag. So many runs wasted like that, but I just can't stop doing it! π€ But my next runs will be with Plasma. Sounds intriguing from your description.
The update sounds great! Can't wait for that.

Wow, that's some great going!
Re: Balatro Is Getting Its First Major Update
Wow! At least three changes that I really wanted here... Joker pack in first shop, preview of forthcoming tags and blinds in post-boss shop, and tag related cards becoming free! That last one in particular will make Anaglyph deck runs even more fun! Can't wait for this to hit the Switch.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Teases Next DLC Character And Kameo Fighter
The name always sounded like some kind of text editor to me! It's nice when things have a whole story behind them like this.
