Microsoft buys a lot of studios to basically do nothing of value with them. They are, with EA and Ubisoft, the worst company to exist in this industry.

The only people to blame are Microsoft, not Romero games. They are the ones to bring the funds so if they do not see the game heading in the right direction, they could have instigated changes. YEARS AGO. The mismanagment is on their part. Let's just remember they have have a chronic difficulty to ship anything in a good state. When you give your studios stupid orders, they make stupid stuff. Just look at Sea of thieves. Catastrophic at launch, but it does not mean Rare are not talented anymore. THEY ARE. And with a few more years and freedom in expanding the game, they delivered.

It's fully on Microsoft. If you are not satisfied with the direction a game is taking, reboot it, ala Metroid Prime 4.

@HeadPirate Dude, they litteraly wanted to close Tango studio after Hi-fi rush, aka the best thing that came out from Xbox in the last 10 years or so.

Those people do not think in terms of "will the game be great", but "will the game SALE well". And I have no doubt Romero would have delivered a new FPS banger. He's not a newbie.

If John freaking Romero is not safe, no one at Xbox is safe from being fired.

That's actually crazy you would cancel a new FPS by the guy that basically created the genre. All for what ? Microsoft cannot pay 100 people, it's too big for them 🙄 ?

@Pillowpants Maybe that's just normal ? I mean, it's an handled device, every one of them I have gets hot after a while, and even more so with warm weather. Should we call it overheating ? Seems pretty fine to me, so I doubt it's widespread. Maybe some units are dysfunctionnal, which happens all the time.

The heat waves we are experiencing since a few days in Europe are not helping those system to cool down, that's for sure

I had no problem with mine though. Played hours and hours of Splatoon 3 (what a game btw, I finally gave it a try thanks to the new update on S2, it's incredibly fun) in a "no AC, no fan" appartment, no problem. My smartphone on the other hand is as hot as lava anytime I even watch a video

@nessisonett well, the same can be said about Awakening honestly. Just put two units together, they are basically invincible

@nessisonett well, some may arguee Awakening was the lowest for the series, both in terms of story and gameplay.
Three Houses has a much better story and characters, Fates has MUCH better gameplay (when it comes to tactic, it's simply the best)

So glad I did not have access to the internet when Wind Waker came out. Otherwise, maybe my experience would have been tainted by those haters. Or maybe not. It's hard to not get influenced by the crowd sometime.

It seems like everyone and their mother will do a Direct before Nintendo finally announces one... but if we can finally get some news for Switch 2, I'm all for it.

@Ralek85 Hard agree. So much S1 games deserve an update on S2. The two paper mario games, Luigi's mansion 3, Fire embel Three houses... they all deserve an update. It would be great to know if Nintendo is gonna do it or not...

Could we please get a Nintendo Direct instead ? The number of news is abysmal. Nintendo is losing all of its momentum by announcing basically nothing.

I don't know about quoting them like this, but people, don't put the blame on them, they did not ask Nintendo Life to be quoted. They are just doing their thing nowadays.

Plus, they do have a major background at Nintendo, they held pretty important positions at some point, so they know how Nintendo works for most of it.

Don't get me wrong, I want a new 3D Mario. But if Nintendo experiments with other characters and style, I'm all for it.

And yet stupid Atlus won't release persona games day one on the freaking thing, but release them day one on Xbox series, that's ludicrous

It's the best standalone game direct they ever made. It's basically Odyssey 2. That's what I wanted for 8 years now. Finally.

It was already my most anticipated game this year. It's through the roof now. I NEED IT NOW.

Shuhei Yoshida also mentioned how game journalists took some stuff he said out of context in his previous interviews, like when he said Nintendo lost a bit of its identity with Switch 2 on some podcast, even though he was mostly positive of Nintendo in it.

Context for what he said in this video : Sony does not consider Nintendo competition, not in the sense they think what Nintendo does isn't great. In fact that's quite the opposite. For Sony apparently, Nintendo is quite essential because it helps grow the industry as it targets quite often family and such, and those people (kids and parents) could end up playing on Sony consoles afterward.

So, what is your point of comparison ? With which handled device do you compare Switch 2's battery performance ?

Because 2 hours to play such a big game as Cyberpunk 2077 is pretty darn good

The Switch 2 will have more interesting exclusives in 6 months than the PS5 in 5 years.

I swear, there's like one interesting game published by Sony a year. Astrobot in 2024 and Death stranding 2 this year, and for the later it's really hit or miss. I personally thought DS1 was one of the most boring video game experience I ever had, alongside RDR2 which is a snorefest, so I have litteraly 0 interest in anything Sony is publishing this year.

The only reason people are buying PS5 is because they don't own a PC, which is objectively better in every way, especially when online has become so darn expansive on PS5.

I'm really tempted to finally give Splatoon a chance thanks to this new update.

But overall, mainly Mario Kart World (online and some races with my gf) ! I bought the TOTK S2 edition, and it sure does look nice, I might continue to play on my old save file.

I would not say it's a 10, but it's definitely a 9. This is the most fun I had in a Mario Kart ever. What a blast.

When I brought my switch 2 from fnac, the seller also told me the switch 2 did exceptionnaly well at their store !

Mario Kart World. The game is incredibly fun with those new movement options. It somehow feels like playing a 3D plateformer with how much freedom you have to move around ! Great stuff

@Smithicus @Smithicus Street fighter 6 is obviously badly optimized. We are talking about two 3D models moving on what is essentially a 2D environment (they can optimize the heck out of the 3d background).

The fact this does not run at 120fps on every hardware is astonishing. It should not be a demanding game.

The courses in this game are soooooo cool and imaginative, it's incredible
