Mario Kart World. The game is incredibly fun with those new movement options. It somehow feels like playing a 3D plateformer with how much freedom you have to move around ! Great stuff

@Smithicus @Smithicus Street fighter 6 is obviously badly optimized. We are talking about two 3D models moving on what is essentially a 2D environment (they can optimize the heck out of the 3d background).

The fact this does not run at 120fps on every hardware is astonishing. It should not be a demanding game.

The courses in this game are soooooo cool and imaginative, it's incredible

My early impressions.

• Switch 2 itself : it's such an improvment over the first one. The design is nice looking, it does not hurt my hands anymore when I hold the switch for long. Everything is snappy and responsive. It feels like a next generation Switch, something that will stays for years. Oh and people that were even remotly saying the screen is a downgrade are waaaaaay over their head. This screen is infinitely better than Switch 1 OLED's.
• Mario Kart World : fun and gigantic. I did not think I would like free roam, but I do. Once you can the hang of it and combine every trick up your sleeve, you can go soooooooo fast.

Really impressed.

This game looks significantly worse, even now, than Xenoblade X on Wii U. That was 10 years ago, on a much less powerful hardware.

Yup, preordered one, since april 3rd, the second I saw preorders were opened. Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow and play Mario Kart World online all day !! And also Split fiction with my gf using the old switch and GameShare !

My goodness just release the game already. At this point, I don't even expect them to wait for a big event to announce it. They could shadow drop it without a trailer, it would work just as fine. And that would be pretty much in line with the rest of their marketing strategy right ? No official update since 2019, that's some commitment.

Switch 2 seems like a pretty beefy hardware this time around ! I'm honestly impressed how well it handles games like Cyberpunk or Streetfighter 6.

But well, I can already hear youtubers complain about the fact it's not as powerful as a PS5, even though it's 1/10th of its size (even less maybe ? 1/20th ?)

Maybe certain games such as Xenoblade X and Paper Mario are already updated for Switch 2 ?

My Switch 1 is still gonna be around for quite qome time thanks to GameShare ! Starting immediatly with Split fiction

@InJeffable the fact you are saying that when you did not have a switch 2 in hands is quite funny.

Most people that tried it said it did not feel at all like a downgrade

10 years since that faithful splatoon global testfire where everyone discovered it was actually a really good concept and gave it a try !

I hope Nintendo will keep giving us new franchises in the future. I'm not sure about Drag x Drive but let's see. Maybe an Arms revival too ?

MK8 truly is stellar. I think they made the right choice by not giving MK world just more courses. At this point, nothing could beat the content offered by MK8, it needed something fresh and new.

I'm curious to see what they are gonna do with smash bros. At this point, either the next smash is just more of the same, with more content, with the risk of it feeling... uninspired ? Or they try something new ?

Finally finished Baldur's gate 3. Good lord, it took some time. I started Persona 3 but then my computer just died 🤣
So I have no idea. I kinda gave up on Xenoblade...

Maybe Metroid Dread ? Bought it some time ago but never started it. Seems like a good time before NS2 !

I'm really excited about Mario Kart (obviously), Donkey Kong, Metroid Prime 4, Split fiction (it needs to be said again : you can use gameshare on this one and take a switch 1 for player 2 !) and cyberpunk !!

I will start Persona 3 right after. No idea why this one wont come day one on switch 2, it would be a perfect fit. Atlus does not like money it seems.

But people, Gamepass is truly a killer deal. You can play Clair obscur, Persona 3, Oblivion remastered and now Doom the dark ages for what, 12 bucks a month ? Geez, that's a deal

At least Mario Kart World has brand new gameplay options with the way karts can jump and roll on walls, it's interesting.

@Medic_alert what media option are you gonna choose for a handled ? I have a hard time figuring what they should have done instead. There's litteraly nothing else. They needed higher speed transfer because games will be more demanding on Switch 2.

Ubisoft died years ago. The last great game they produced was Rayman Legends. What a game it was. But it was the last.

This game could be canceled, I would not even think about it twice.

I don't see why you americans should pay less than us, especially when your currency is lower than ours so it make even less sense.

More will certainly be announced later. I suspect we might get a Direct between Switch 2's release and DK's release.

A lot of people lost interest, the game just needs to be good to regain this interest !

They are gonna shadowdrop this game. What's stopping them ? It's the best way to release it honestly, they don't need to market it or even ship physical copies.

I would like for Nintendo Life to go a little bit more deeply as to WHY Nintendo provides this option. Because when I see it's "anti-consumers" according to certain comments, I'm pretty sure people have no idea what compromise exactly it's achieving. People complained Mario Kart World was 10 bucks more expansive physically, but did they ever wonder why it was ?

How is it anti-consumer to provide a solution to sell your games for cheaper prices and not sell them for an extra 10 bucks, if not more ? I think that's actually the opposite.

But hey, we are talking about an industry where people complain Nintendo sells Mario Kart World for 80 euros (something Sony does since 2020 with its PS5 games, but whatever), but, the latest Call of duty game has some cutting edge technology to analyze your play style and pair you with people that have stuffs you might want to buy, and provide an add to the cart button on the killcam because you keep dying to people with better gear lmao, and yet no controversy.

How weird.

Without game key cards, some games would not release at all physically. Because the NS2 cards are way more exensive once you get to high storage capacity (and some games are way beyond that capacity)
