I played this through twice on PS5. It was an awesome experience, and I would love to hang out in the Sector 7 slums again, but I am more interested in playing Rebirth since I just wasn’t able to actually play through that game due to life complications at the time. I may double dip for this one anyway though because the last thing we need is SquareEnix getting fed up with poor sales numbers and refusing to bring Rebirth to the console due to “poor interest” in the series.

Please SquareEnix. I would like to give you money in exchange for letting me play this on Switch 2. I dont own a gaming PC, and Switch is my primary console for several reasons. I honestly don’t care if it’s a 150 gig download. I want it!

It’s probably nothing, but the game IS coming out right in the middle of spooky season, hopefully there’s a spooky vibe element!

I kind of feel like this game should be entirely free. Isn’t it just a platform for competitive matches where the user will supply their own Pokemon from the mainline games through Home? I feel like the pokemon company could justify this as a free game to encourage the users to continue purchasing the mainline entries.

I’ve already preordered the physical edition of this. Thanks for the preview discussion. Just about everything you said appeals to me, so I’m feeling pretty excited about it (particularly the prospect of multiplayer co-op which is always a selling point for me)

Yay! I was hoping there would be a multiplayer mode in this game. The trailer looks fun and reminds me a little of Pokemon Unite.

This was already one of my most anticipated titles of the year so I appreciate the preview. The combat looks exciting. I think I may be a little more onboard with the urban setting than Zion is though lol.

I think it’s pretty cool.

I always go into indie world presentations with tempered expectations, but I’ll be watching for sure.

Um after playing through the demo, this is one of my most anticipated games. I dont really understand the negative response in this comment section. The visuals, setting, and combat were all really lovely. It hit this wonderful balance between engaging and cozy.

I thought this was a great presentation! Persona 3 reload, a new square enix IP, and a new Octopath Traveler!? What a great showing for JRPG lovers. The only gripe I have is that the only multiplayer focused game that I recall was Apex Legends. I like to play with other people online.

@Friendly Yes! A resolution improvement and frame rate upgrade would be wonderful! (I can’t actually say what the frame rate is like on Switch 2 though because Age of Calamity and Three Hopes play so much better)

@Friendly Fate Samurai/Remnant was released on Switch 1. Are you hoping for a switch 2 edition?

Very exciting! We definitely need a first party direct REALLY soon, but there are definitely some big possibilities. Rumor has it that Assassins Creed Shadows might get ported, so I’d like to see that. Any Atlus ports would be welcome. Also, I’d like to see more about the new Daemon x Machina game.

This weekend is mostly about Wild Hearts S with a smattering of combo work in Street Fighter 6 and Donkey Kong Bananza on the side. OH BANANA!

@Lizuka that’s disappointing that you were able to finish it in a single day. My preordered copy wont ship until next week unfortunately, but Ill know not to commit too many evenings to it. Hopefully the journey was fun at least!

@Fiergala is there still a community online playing this? The option of multiplayer online is an important factor for me for this kind of game.

@Unit_DTH I put a surprising number of hours into the demo! I hadn’t played this game on other consoles, and it turned out to be a total blast!

If you’re interested in this but haven’t played Monster Hunter, try the demo. If you’re a monster hunter fan looking for something to hold you over on switch 2 until capcom releases something new, then I’ll see you online - I thought the demo was a blast and I’m here day 1.

As disappointing as this sounds, I would still take cross play over 60 fps if I had to pick. My friend group will be playing this on PlayStation 5.

I thought it was a great presentation all in all. The DJ Pikachu music was great (please release an album or something Pokemon Company). Pokemon Concierge is a wonderful little gem of a show, so Im looking forward to that. New raid battles in scarlet/violet offer a good opportunity to get back into them after the switch 2 update. Pokemon Friends is cute so far. It’s nice to just be able to buy a Pokemon puzzle game without micro transactions (even if the DLCs are an additional cost). Great trailer for Legends ZA. I don’t really have any big reason to complain. I wanted to see some older games come to NSO and some OSTs to come to Nintendo Music, but I can wait.

Well, I will be picking this up if it reviews well. It seems like a perfect fit for a hybrid console, and I didn’t get around to playing it on any other platform

I’m honestly shocked that their are enough people in this community who have played enough Virtual Boy games to have a real opinion on this topic.

P.S. I’ve never played the Water World game, but I loved that movie.

YES! I got motion sickness immediately while playing ingot isle. The swinging camera angles and disorientation when you punch a tunnel out of rock is very unsettling. I stopped doing unnecessary breaking and switched to hand held mode and it helped me though.

I didn’t pick this up because lack of crossplay. Release a Switch 2 upgrade with crossplay, and I will buy it. No fighting game has sufficient community to survive locking to a single console.

I think this is fine. It’s releasing several months after the switch 2 release window. Most early adopters of switch 2 will have one by then, and it’s not really a game that is going to look night and day between the switch 1 and 2 versions. If you dont plan on getting a switch 2 by October and want to play this game, the switch 1 edition will play fine enough Im sure.

I believe, at least on paper, in the importance of reparability in electronics. However, since I’ve never tried, and probably never will, this comes off as a LITTLE dramatic, but I certainly can understand his frustration as a major stakeholder in the issue.

I was actually just comparing the performance on steam deck vs switch 2 with my nephew last weekend (he plays on steam deck). I certainly didnt do a thorough test of every setting, but we both agreed that it looked a little better on the Switch 2.

I have this on PS5, but I would double dip for this game.

I hope we actually get the new Digimon Stories game on Switch 2. I don’t believe it was confirmed yet.

@TheExile285 I've had a ton of fun with this. The D pad in handheld doesn't work at all for classic controls, but the modern control is fine for world tour - which is a pretty fun experience

This is a SOLID list to be excited about. I’ve already preordered No Sleep for Kaname Date, but Shadow Labyrinth, Pokémon Legends, Hyrule Warriors, Star Wars: Outlaws??? Switch/Switch 2 gamers will be eating good this year. Not entirely sold on the FromSoft game because I dont really enjoy the frustration of Souls-like games, but Nintendo needs a good PvE multiplayer game, so I’m willing to give it a fair shake.

I mean people have been saying this seems more like a tech demo - and the price point and file size seem to support this. Nintendo tends to lean towards OVER-valuing their product rather than undervaluing it at the point of sale.

Is $20 a sign that Nintendo doesn’t have any faith in the project though? I mean, it’s a reasonable price, but Nintendo values their products pretty highly usually. I’ll still get it for that price to try it for myself, but my expectations for the depth of the game are overall lowered a touch.

I would like to see switch 2 upgrade packs that allow crossplay with other consoles for both Guilty Gear Strive and Undernight Inbirth II. Marvel Tōken looked pretty flashy in the state of play though - I certainly wouldn’t complain if that was also coming to Switch 2

Maybe Kirby Air Riders will be the next “smash bros” character collection racing game? I’m not saying it’s a huge likelihood, but Sakurai is involved with that one.

This direct moved me from “I’m getting this game day 1” to “IM GETTING THIS GAME DAY 1!”

I hope it does come to switch 2 and that people enjoy it. I played on PS5, and it wasn’t my cup of tea. I enjoy action games, but I just feel like Eve over commits to attack actions (Im a bit of a button masher - my fault) and doesn't leave enough time to defend or dodge in the narrow window the player is given. You’re definitely rewarded (often) as a player for waiting for the enemy attack before launching a combo - and that grates on my nerves a bit. Not gunna lie.

As a huge fan of piranha plants, the image quality takes a backseat to the visual aesthetic for me honestly. I’ll probably get this eventually.

I like this in theory. In application, Im the only one in my circle who currently owns a switch 2, and there are still a limited selection of switch games with a heavy multiplayer online focus. I dont go on camera for team meetings at work, and I don’t plan on going on camera for Mario Kart. I’ll reevaluate my interest in this product when the Switch 2 gets an MMORPG with co-op raid bosses.

Not waiting for the new hardware really was a tactical error for Guilty Gear Strive. No crossplay in fighter is really a quick death sentence. That being said, Ive definitely pick up a copy of SF6 for switch 2 now that I know Capcom is fully behind it.

@ShonenJump121 me too. No matter how impressive the fact that they got in on the switch, and yes the frame rate is stable now, but the textures still look terrible.

It’s a ton a fun. It’s mostly more of the same, but that same is still better than a 6/10. There definitely should be cross play though. That being said, I havent had too much difficulty finding multiplayer matches online yet.

Ill definitely buy this for nostalgia reasons, but I feel like they could have done just a bit more here. Maybe they could have made new sprites and gave it a visual overhaul with the option to toggle back and forth with the original graphics…

Yay! I loved this game. Im kinda glad I didn’t get around to playing the DLC now - though I may just go back and play this from the beginning.

The idea that this game could get more content is a little bit unreal to me. I’m only on day 33 of my first play through.

As a counterweight to some of the anti-pokemon rants sure to follow: Yes. I will preorder this. This is a day one purchase for me. I’m very excited for this. That is all.
