Um, no, sorry guys. This list should be called most accessible switch games if accessibility didn't already have another definition in gaming. The last boss in Kirby was nothing to sneeze at, and MarioKart lives online - where the competition is HARD. Just because a game has a set of options that make the game less daunting, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily “easy”…

I mean, it’s just an educated guess goes from an industry expert, but this all makes perfect sense. In fact, I’m hoping for an ongoing commitment to portability. The switch is my console of choice largely because of this aspect.

The play time seems about right. I’m happy to play a 40 hour RPG, but a metroidvania shouldn’t be longer than 25 hours in my opinion. I’m rather excited for this. I enjoyed the sands of time.

As someone based in the US, I really wanted this one. I found out that preorders were available 3 days after they posted on major retailers websites and it was already sold out.

I am definitely curious about this. I really enjoyed Scarlet/Violet, and I am pretty familiar with other Dragon Quest games.

I prefer the global model for splatfests, but this seems like it could be fun as long as it’s not the status quo going forward. Also, Big Man probably gives great hugs!

I think the translators may have forgotten that in Japanese “Zel-Da” actually translates to “Pur-ah” in English 😉

This is literally one of the first video games I remember playing as a kid. Good ole’ MS-DOS!

I’ll wait for gameplay footage. Im not expecting anything extraordinary , but I don’t trust that this game will port well.

That’s fair. Sounds like the forced effort didn’t pan out the way they hoped. I won’t disagree with you on that, and it seems like you’ve played more recent sonic games than I have. I just think the balance is in how much weight one puts on features of a game. It deserved to be called out on an unsuccessful multiplayer mode. However, from my perspective, if someone were reviewing Splatoon 3 and putting too much weight on its single player campaign (which thankfully is good), I would raise an eyebrow at that as well because the game was multiplayer from its ideological inception.

Oh and sorry for deleting my previous comment, I was worried it had become a little too trolly and self-indulgent - not my intended online presence.

I haven’t played a sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast, but I’ll give this a go. Platformers are still one of my favorite genres. Glad this review judged it primarily on its single player mode. Some other reviews really harped on about the multiplayer — which matters not at all to me.

Probably, yeah. Casual online multiplayer with randos is definitely my thing.

I got this one day 1. It’s an impressive achievement and a must play for Fate fans, but the reviewer isn’t joking with the frame rate drops. It definitely takes away from the experience during the exploration segments in the city of Edo.

It’s fun! Nothing mind blowing here, but the mechanics are enjoyable, and the presentation is fun, and I love Disney characters!

Not sure if I’m impressed by the new graphics or more impressed by how well the GameCube version holds up visually… anyway, i missed this game back in my gamecube days. I’ve played a couple others since, but since this one is supposedly the best, I’m looking forward to playing it next year.

Depends on my mood - Halloween time release means I’ll be playing as Luigi at first (because Halloween is for Luigi’s Mansion) but I generally go with Blue Toad whenever he’s an option!

Ive been playing Splatoon since the first one on WiiU. I honestly dont feel like much needs to be changed in the fundamentals except for possibly smarter match making. The wonderful thing about these games is that I can put in 100 hours and then come back for splatfests (and now big runs) but still play OTHER GAMES (gasp) in between. It always stays fresh to me. Splatoon is one of my favorite franchises as is.

I’m not really disappointed. Being able to see and interact with other players online is a nice reminder that I’m a part of a community. I don’t think that most platformer games are really designed around more than one player anyway. While it’s fun to play certain platformers with my son in couch co-op mode, if I’m playing with someone old enough to appreciate online play we should probably be playing Splatoon 3 or Mariokart 8 together anyway

Does anyone know if the wireless one will include gyro? I’ve become dependent and can no longer play certain games without it unfortunately 😅

Some of these are great. I thought Persona 5 was an awesome port (seriously, look at the install size difference between the ps4 version and the switch version) but I thought that the switch version of the witcher wasn't worth the effort. Also, wasnt Bayonetta 2 a WiiU exclusive!? Not really achieving much in that port there….

I love the commitment Nintendo has made to the longevity of the Splatoon experience. May your seasons never end! (At least until the next iteration on the next console)

@Guile I agree. I played these games years ago, and I never even considered playing it without importing my party from the gameboy games. The novelty of the stadium games for me was to have 3D model battles with the pokemon that I used in the mainline game.

I’m an old man (30s), and MAYBE my vision is poor, but it doesn’t look THAT bad visually. I honestly can’t figure out why you kids are always so graphics obsessed (grumpy old man noises)

I experienced exactly 0 game breaking performance issues in my play through of Pokémon Violet. I’m sad to hear about everyone’s negative experiences. I had a great time playing it, and I will certainly be downloading the DLCs.

Im pretty sure the reigning wisdom is that Metroid doesn’t sell well in Japan, so probably not Prime 4. Mario is always a safe sell. Heck, myself and several other million people are buying TWO mario games in October…

Yeah, I never really complain about a musou game with an interesting story. This is an easy preorder for me. Not an expert on the Fate series, but I did like Stay Night. Looks good and will give me something to play in September while waiting for Mario!
