@Guile I agree. I played these games years ago, and I never even considered playing it without importing my party from the gameboy games. The novelty of the stadium games for me was to have 3D model battles with the pokemon that I used in the mainline game.
I’m an old man (30s), and MAYBE my vision is poor, but it doesn’t look THAT bad visually. I honestly can’t figure out why you kids are always so graphics obsessed (grumpy old man noises)
I experienced exactly 0 game breaking performance issues in my play through of Pokémon Violet. I’m sad to hear about everyone’s negative experiences. I had a great time playing it, and I will certainly be downloading the DLCs.
Im pretty sure the reigning wisdom is that Metroid doesn’t sell well in Japan, so probably not Prime 4. Mario is always a safe sell. Heck, myself and several other million people are buying TWO mario games in October…
Yeah, I never really complain about a musou game with an interesting story. This is an easy preorder for me. Not an expert on the Fate series, but I did like Stay Night. Looks good and will give me something to play in September while waiting for Mario!
Thanks for the reminder Nintendo Life! I forgot these tracks were coming up. The Octopath Traveler games have some awesome music. I would love to see some of the music from the sequel (and FFXVI) on here.
Wonderful game, but it’s not well adapted to short play sessions. I’m only 50 hours in because uninterrupted evenings are not frequent occurrences when one has children 😕
This is pretty neat. I love the social aspects of this game, but I don’t have a regular group to play with. So, I really enjoy the little reminders that I’m playing with other people out there in the world haha.
@SirMime Right!? I have preordered this game based on the genre and publisher, and I’m delighted to know pretty much nothing about the actual gameplay haha.
@The-Chosen-one Agreed! Best OST I can think of in a while. I’ve put about 20 hours in so far, and really think this game is a polished gem in every domaine.
Honestly, Square Enix should have marketed this a little harder - this is such a weird experience. I’ve never seen so little effort put into the initial marketing by such a big publisher when they actually have a GEM of a game. I’ve only seen ads for it post-release.
I’m PRETTY invested in this game. I went so far as to preorder the limited edition. I generally like this publisher’s library, and I am a pretty big fan of the AI The Somnium Files games - but I get the impression it’s not going to be really similar. I like the aesthetic, and I’m hoping for a murder mystery adventure/visual novel hybrid with some heart.
I initially read this headline as “ which character would you like to see return in THE NEXT Mario Kart 8” - which I thought was a reasonable statement because Mario Kart 8 will be on each new Nintendo console for eternity. The number is frozen in time.
I’m just so happy 😭 I needed some excitement for this week! Hoping for more info on fitness boxing fist of the North Star (lol don’t judge me, everyone has their thing)
The only Square Enix game I bought this last year was Triangle Strategy. I will eventually buy Live A Live, but I played the demos for the Diofield Chronicle and Harvestella and both were…..fine. They just didn’t warrant a full price new release cost in my opinion. 2023 is their year though. Theater Rhythm, Octopath traveler 2, FFXVI, AND FFVII remake part 2? I will be spending a pretty penny on their inventory this year.
This is interesting to me. I always buy the big games in physical editions because they have trade in/resale value in case I didn’t love them. I never understood why people would pay the same $59.99 for a digital copy with no value once purchased. Digital copies SHOULD be cheaper for a couple of different reasons, so this is an interesting deal. As someone from North America I genuinely had no idea these were ever a thing.
I feel like the weapon degradation system was a strong motivator to explore the environment, and the player was rewarded for exploring partly because of this system. Open world games are fun partly because there are things to go out there and find - weapons were a huge part of this.
I don’t know how much of a ‘demo’ this was. Maybe I played it wrong, but I didn’t encounter any combat - just a couple of simple puzzles. If the point was to show off the art style, then yeah, definitely liked it. A slightly longer experience would have been nice though.
I didn’t really love Three Houses. I do like social sims and visual novels, but the combo just didn’t work for me in a fire emblem game. I preferred my 3DS fire emblem experiences. Looking forward to Engage!

Re: Shiver, Frye, And Big Man Duke It Out In The Latest Splatoon 3 Splatfest
Well whomever it is, it’s certainly NOT Shiver! (Not even certain she isn’t evil overlord material)

Loved the classic mickey mouse games on GameGear. I was on the fence about this game, but this review was just the push I needed.
Re: Poll: Were You Able To Get The New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo?
@Rika_Yoshitake preorders were sold out months ago in North America. I checked.
Re: Poll: Were You Able To Get The New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo?
Not enough product? Sounds like Nintendo’s chronic surprise that the Xenoblade series is popular….

I did not like Elden Ring. No no no. The Depths are cool though.
Re: PlayStation Boss Doesn't Think Call Of Duty Appeals To Nintendo's Core Audience
I think the statement is …kinda true. It would still sell a respectable amount though.
Re: Tactical RPG Gloomhaven Makes The Leap From Board Game To Switch This September
The board game is great. Looking forward to playing this with some friends who lived too far away to play it in person.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?
I admittedly was disappointed not to see the Persona 3 Reload featured here, but all in all very satisfied with this Direct!
Re: Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Launches On Nintendo Switch This September
I wanted to please these so badly when they came out on Gamecube when I was young. I am quite ready to make up for lost time!

Wonderful game, but it’s not well adapted to short play sessions. I’m only 50 hours in because uninterrupted evenings are not frequent occurrences when one has children 😕
Re: Master Detective Archives: Rain Code 'Mysteriful Limited Edition' Slightly Delayed (North America)
@Thief Agreed. FFXVI will probably eat up my time for a number of weeks as well!
Re: Master Detective Archives: Rain Code 'Mysteriful Limited Edition' Slightly Delayed (North America)
Oh well, I preordered this edition last year. Waiting a couple more weeks won’t kill me…
Re: Prince Of Persia Is Back With Brand New Title, Out January 2024 On Switch

And thus continues my perfect streak of never winning a splatfest! (Had fun though! Congratulations team white chocolate!)

I, for one, love a collab. I only play support characters, so I probably won’t really use this. I love it in theory though. Keep it coming!

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Fire Emblem Engage
Hopefully the story in question is at LEAST better than that nonsensical Fire Emblem Warriors…that was painful.
