Warioware is just one of those franchises that works perfectly as a budget title (twenty dollar range) and becomes impossible to fully enjoy as a full price game. I love these games, but I can't drop fifty bucks CAD on a three hour collection of games I've already played, no matter how charming and silly the presentation may be.
This misses the whole point of the accessory. Ideally this thing would just come with a second layer that you can change if it gets scuffed up. If you want to make a third party cover, make it either matching or transparent.
That's a pretty big price tag for a port of a four dollar mobile game. This is part of why I like getting more F2P and budget titles on the Switch. It helps to shift the eshop's economy so publishers can't expect everyone to buy a mobile game for twenty to thirty bucks.
I'll happily pick it up for five or so, but that's it.
@PanurgeJr Paying for mobile data is incomparable to this. These systems are already hooked up to wifi, we're providing the internet connections ourselves. This is Nintendo standing between players and third party servers to demand a laughably small, but still noticeable fee. It's no wonder players are pissed about it. If I pay fifty bucks for my wifi and ten for my battle pass to support epic, why should Nintendo get an extra cut, beyond the eshop revenue?
Frankly, the idea of paying a premium for online services just because other publishers do it is already silly. If say, Epic pays to run their servers and my Switch wants to connect to said servers, there's no reason Nintendo should need to be the troll under the bridge and demand a fee. This whole concept of online features as a subscription service only makes the Switch less appealing for new players.
I can't wait to pay way too much for a puzzle that could be printed in the newspaper. For real though, I love Picross in small doses but I usually just snatch them up when they inevitably drop to two bucks on sale. Probably gonna do the same here.
The sacrifices Hori thinks we'll make for a D-Pad. Never really missed it personally, even though I use the Pro Controller more. On the go it just feels natural, I don't really use the buttons for movement as much as the stick anyways.
These sorts of mobile style games are cute, but always overpriced. I'd drop about a dollar, that's it. The eshop really needs to start sticking these little two-dollar trinket apps into a cheap-o section of some sort.
Not going to applaud them for this, clear rates for loot crates purchased with cash or in-game premium currencies should be legally required to be disclosed anyways. I know they need to keep monetising the game once the main playerbase has bought it, but frankly I find the loot crate cosmetic-only gambling mechanic to be super offputting. This kind of crap is barely acceptable in free-to-play gatchapon games, let alone big-name paid experiences with already-existing DLC. Just release some more cars as DLC if you need the extra cash.
Finished this one recently on Playstation. Definitely recommend it. It's far from perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction and has while choices still don't all matter, they're becoming more meaningful than they were in season 1.
Also, you get to see the Joker drunk and it's kind of a dream. Really great performance.
That said, these are cute but honestly I think part of what makes Funko fun is that they've got so darn many characters from each franchise. With Pokemon, I think they should try to pump out more figures year by year and gradually flesh out a collection. I'd happily buy a couple figures of some of my favorites, and I'm sure other people would too. I typically buy funkos because there aren't many figures of the characters I want to buy, but there's no shortage of Pikachu figures out there.
I dunno if I've encountered any cheaters in-game, honestly. That being said, this should not be doable. I think at this point banning his console would really be missing the point.
I wouldn't mind this if it was priced closer to the steam version, but as of right now it's eighty bucks in Canada for a game that's been out for what, seven years? Mods would make it much easier to justify.
This one really felt like a nothing article. How much will it cost? I dunno, probably as much as last time. WIll there be new skins? Yeah, probably. When does it start? When the current one ends, there's a timer displayed right there in-game.
Games like this are why Nintendo needs to stop pricing every main game at 60 USD. A content-light afternoon game like this one just isn't a comparable value to BOTW, Odyssey etc. This is the kind of game I grab for thirty bucks Canadian if that, and enjoy for the price. If I bought it for eighty I'd be too bothered by how much it costs to really enjoy what little content there is.
This shouldn't be the record, it isn't at all recreatable. No skill involved, just being kind of a funny [removed] when everyone else was trying to check out the event. No point shooting for the record, you won't have nearly fifty people all on one ramp again anytime soon. It's funny, but not a skillful move by any means.
I'd love to buy the cheaper Katrielle game from mobile on Switch. Don't think I'd drop a full price on it though. For a mystery game like that I'd need a more involving story to justify the cost.
Still praying for Danganronpa to come to the Switch one day.
Unless if they can work out a way for Epic to merge accounts, it's too late for a lot of us. I'd love to bring my limited edition skins from my old Sony account over to the Nintendo one, but as is even if cross-play is added my old Sony account will be the one I abandon. Shame you can't trade. Really seems like you should be able to, this'd work great if it had a system like TF2.
Getting into the habit of leaving content out from what should be a complete, definitive edition of a game is a dangerous habit to get into and punishes a consumer who wants to archive the games they love. While I don't really care that much about these levels, I'm still hoping the web will give big N all the crap they need for this decision.
@yuwarite Yeah, pretty much. They make some sweet consoles but after all the BS with the PS4 generation I'm pretty much ready to switch to Xbox for my next console. Especially if it lets me jump to my Switch for cross-play, that's the best of both worlds. Sony's already restricted me from playing with my friends, may as well jump ship and save a few hundred.
Good. This may seem like a small issue but it's really just an example of Sony's unwillingness to support cross-play and allow their customers to branch out to different games on different consoles. I've had a Nintendo and a Sony console on my TV every generation since I had my first paper route, and I've never felt like one system somehow made the other redundant. Never bothered with Xbox but with all this talk about the next gen coming I'm thinking of switching over. Fact is that the Xbox is playing ball and the Playstation cripples its own multiplayer by restricting you to the Sony kiddie pool.
I've been pretty unimpressed with the company's behavior this past generation and if they aren't supporting backwards compatibility now either, I see no reason to go with a PS5 over an XB2. Not like the exclusives have really blown me away anyways, outside of maybe Horizon.
Regarding the "accessible to everyone" thing, not sure what the problem is in a game with motion controls not having an alternative. Evidently he thinks part of the core experience is the tossing of the Pokeball, similar to how it is in Go. I wouldn't call motion-heavy games like Just Dance or Wii Sports "inaccessible", they're just aimed at a different audience. And yeah, if you have a disability preventing you from throwing the ball that sucks, but there are plenty of other games out there that won't require motion.
This is nice and all, but that thing sticking right out of the console doesn't exactly help portability. I'm still hoping to get some solution like an update or maybe a joy-con with a built in bluetooth antenna, anything practical. Still weirded out that they didn't think people would be using headphones on this machine, I've been wearing bluetooth headphones around day-to-day for years.
Reading into it a bit but yeah, Sony went a little far with this. I found it hard to believe when I had to restart my account entirely on the game, but I still did it. As far as I'm concerned, my PS4 account is tainted, infected with Sony's BS. I've been buying most of my games for the Switch lately anyways, the PS4 just isn't as convenient to play on.
Not to speak ill of the creator but even without Sakurai I expect the series will continue whether he likes it or not. Smash is a pretty huge system seller. I'd certainly rather Sakurai be on board for any iteration that comes along but if he were to pass on the next one I'd still probably check it out.
It does suck to technically have an inferior version but I think most of us just checked the reviews for save the world and moved right on. This feels like they're just phasing it out. They'll probably "finish" it soon and release it, then abandon it and focus on Battle Royale.
@Dang69 I would be very interested in this dongle. I've been waiting for them to release either an update or accessory to fix the bluetooth issue (preferably an update, since it already uses bluetooth just fine) since I bought the thing.
Great for handheld use, but it still seems like wireless headsets or at least ones that plug into controllers like with the PS4 or XB1 should be kind of a given by now. I keep my dock balanced atop a rather high shelf and the last thing it needs is a long cable tugging it onto the floor.
Amiibo were one thing but witholding Mew to the controller seems pretty cheeky to me. Hoping he's still in the game. It'd suck for him to be locked behind a fifty dollar toy.
I was thinking about this one but found the framerate and general performance really lacking in the demo. Not to discourage demos, I generally really like Spike Chunsoft and buy their stuff. Just kinda was hoping it'd be better optimized. I'll happily buy a cheap port of the original game, though.
Netflix would be awesome, and Spotify could be insanely cool if it worked the way it does on PS4 allowing you to play music while you play other games. Hoping if we do get Netflix that the Crunchyroll app isn't too far off. Their service is pretty good but they tend to be pretty slow to update.
Loving this. One of the hardest parts of getting into Sm4sh was feeling like we were losing the brawl exclusive characters. This feels like more of a step up, and it'll be harder to justify picking Sm4sh over it.
@bratzdoll I'd prefer some gay support too but I don't see what pride month has to do with it. The whole month-long social media campaign is mostly just a western thing. I'm just hoping you can adopt a child instead of Niles just being a dead end.
Besides, pride month is literally a 12th of the whole year so it doesn't actually matter. It's not like announcing it on a special holiday that people care about, the whole month of June is now supposed to be tied to annoying your facebook friends and as a result it kinda ends up not mattering after the first week.
If they're cheap, somewhere around five bucks or less I'll happily take the odd gamble and check them out. Provided that they have rewind or restore points or some other such cheat in place to help those of us who don't like running out of lives in old games.
@jenkje No, you can play for free or pay the one-time fee which unlocks all the other stuff. Basically it's like the free-to-play version is a demo, it's meant to keep player activity up so the people who buy the game have more people to play against.
@JayJ That's kinda true. I like having it sometimes, but I'd say I only use my PS4 headset 30% of the time playing online games. More often I just listen to podcasts or music. It's pretty rare on a team of ten people to find more than three with their headsets on in most of my games.
