Fans of Professor Layton rejoice: a new trailer has appeared for the Switch version of Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle And The Millionaires’ Conspiracy.
As you can see, the trailer is celebrating the game's upcoming release in Japan where it is scheduled to launch on 9th August. There's still no word of a western release for this Switch version of the game, but we'd be surprised if it doesn't make it over at some point.
Of course, the game has already been released on 3DS - and we really enjoyed it in our review - so we're hopeful that Switch players will be able to get their hands on the game, too.

Well, we will see Yokai Watch 3 localized very soon.
If the game does come to the west, hopefully the keychains will too.
Gonna import the game from Japan. Wish they did not include that NFC thing, now I will have to track down a bunch of keychains

I've played and loved all the Layton games including the Phoenix wright one.
This one really misses the magic of the others with no overreaching story due to the game being sold as multiple mini stories on mobile making it feel small and shallow compared to the others.
The puzzles are also a solid notch below, almost half of them are just tricky questions involving math that you enter a number for your answer.
It's a far cry from the great Layton games, but better than nothing.
I will take all things Layton.
I heard this game was pretty unimpressive by Layton standards, both in puzzle quality and story. I guess we'll see when it releases on Switch.
...now when will any company outside Japan pick up licensing for the anime?
The anime is already so much fun! I can't wait for the game to be localised for the west!
I still need to check this one out. I've only played (and loved) the original trilogy. The ending of Unwound Future was itself profoundly powerful.

I'd love to buy the cheaper Katrielle game from mobile on Switch. Don't think I'd drop a full price on it though. For a mystery game like that I'd need a more involving story to justify the cost.
Still praying for Danganronpa to come to the Switch one day.
I love Professor Layton but haven't played this game yet, so I hope the Switch version comes westwards!
Does the japanese in the trailer reveal anything like new puzzles? This article is a bit on the shallow side.
