The Poké Ball Plus promises to give aspiring trainers an unprecedented level of interaction with their Pokémon companions in the upcoming release Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Let’s Go, Pikachu! You’ll be able to catch Pokémon with the new ball and even take them with you when you're out and about. Each one will also include a Mew inside.
If you’re worried you'll accidentally mimic the throwing action, as seen in the game and television series, according to Nintendo Soup, Japanese accessory maker Cyber Gadget has got your back. It's revealed yellow and brown coloured covers to protect your peripheral from harm. It's worth noting the cover allows you to continue using all the play functions of the device and even charge it. Of course, the downside is you won't be able to see the trademark colours of the iconic ball.

The coloured covers launch in Japan on 16th November alongside the release of the new Pokémon games. International pre-orders are now live on Amazon Japan.
Would you consider buying a cover like this for your Poké Ball Plus? Are you excited for the new Pokémon games? Tell us below.

By doing so, it will look Less Pokeball.
Eww no... those are gross colors. I agree with @Anti-Matter it takes away the fun if it doesn't look like a Pokeball.
This defeats the entire purpose of buying it. Now it just looks like some weird yellow ball controller with a single analog stick.
@wrathfulzeus All I can think of is that Amazon is affiliated with Nintendo Soup in some way and wants credit for it(???).
Cyber Gadget, seen here heroically missing the point
@wrathfulzeus I've given the site credit now and removed the Amazon links. I simply forgot to add the site link at the bottom of the page.
Surely it would make more sense to make it a clear silicone?? Or possibly a design to resemble a master ball or ultra ball or something.
This feels like a real lost opportunity... Imagine if instead of them making a silicon cover for the Pokeball that looked like just a gross solid yellow, they instead made a silicon cover with the design of an Ultra ball on it?
How hard would a red and white Poke-Ball color scheme have been?
I feel like this is probably the result of a non-gamer making a gaming-related product 😅
@Heavyarms55 Brown of all colours, right?
@Liam_Doolan Reminds me of what Henry Ford said about the Model T: "you can get it in any color you want, so long as that's black" - or something like that.
..... Umm would it be hard to put it in Red or white? Or heck, even a color of an existing pokeball like light blue, black, pink, purple......
I mean cool? But yea no,
Condom for Pokeball?
How do you put it on?
Now I know this isn't what we're dicussing here BUT:
Silicon is not silicone, though silicone does consist partly of silicon. Silicon is another word for the metallic element Silicium, which is used in microprocessors, hence Silicon Valley.
String it together with oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen, and you get the medical grade plasticine material silicone.
I'd be very surprised if not these rubbery things were made from silicone, rather than silicon.
@Pod
Comments such as this are the reason that I try to read every single comments section here at NL! 😆
What about no!
Could they not have made them to resemble a masterball or something. Even then, though, it kinda tarnishes the experience.
@Liam_Doolan Stop retitling the article, you're spamming my RSS reader! 😂
The obvious guess is that the poo and pee colours are for Pikachu and Eevee, and still... Eek!
An accessory for an accessory. What a time to be alive.
What a pointless ugly product
Eurgh.
@Heavyarms55
But yellow is cheaper man
Dumb. What's the point in buying a controller that looks like a Pokeball if you're just gonna cover the whole thing with that fugly garbage.
To everyone wondering about the questionable colours, yellow is Pikachu and brown is Eevee.
That is not to say it makes them any less eugh.
Really ruins the design lol
hey hey let's go!, kenka suru. taisetsu na mono o, protect my balls
@Pod Say silicon one more time
These are horrid.
The word atrocious comes to mind.
@HobbitGamer
SSSsssssilicon.
Make it in great ball color scheme and I'd consider it.
These look like human breasts, available in both dark-skinned and Simpsons varieties
Christ those are two ugly covers. I mean... Just... Why?!
Hideous. What’s the point of aesthetic controller like that if you cover it up? At least make the covers transparent or look like other types of Poké Ball. And is anyone actually worried about damaging these things?
We chose the two most ugly colors for this particular purpose (And I usually love mustard yellow in fashion)
Like many have said, that looks horrible.. totally kills the aesthetic...Now I’d be interested in a custom shaped case to store the pokéball when I’m not actually using it, but I would never put a case around it, and keep it on, even when I was using it... It completely kills the look. Can’t see many people buying these...
If someone makes a cover/replacement casing that looks like a Ultra/Master Ball, I'm totally buying it!
I’m not going to bother getting this. It makes the Pokeball look so ugly. I’ve never had a problem throwing Wii remotes so I don’t think I’ll be needing this anyway.
I think I'm going to up chuck!
Thanks, now my Pokeball Plus is going to be STD-free.
Make your controller you bought because it looks like a Pokéball, look nothing like a Pokéball!
@Liam_Doolan And why is the subheading not "use protection kids" or "protect your balls"? We expect less of our writers these days.
Great idea i could do with something to protect my balls not sure of the colour though
Lame. The Poke'ball should be encased with rubber so it bounces like a Superball.
This misses the whole point of the accessory. Ideally this thing would just come with a second layer that you can change if it gets scuffed up. If you want to make a third party cover, make it either matching or transparent.
Yellow is Pikachu, Brown is Eevee!
