Coming out the same day as Sma5h, that's brutal. Can't do much worse than that. Shame too, Katamari is a wonderful game. It was one of the first games I can remember playing.
Oh yay, the game's gonna be sold incomplete. I buy season passes for some games that I really enjoy but they're essentially a way to tack 20-30 dollars onto the price of the "complete" game. For the price hike this game just got, I'd hope it delivers. Gonna wait for reviews.
If the frame rate was solid I would totally check it out. I play a decent amount on the PS4 and frankly, I don't think I'd miss a lot of the little graphical touches if I were playing on Switch. I'd want them to finally add cross-save though. Loot crates seem like an even worse investment when you have a separate skin collection for PC, PS4 and Switch. If they're connected to the same account I don't see why they can't just carry over.
This is a massively misleading headline. A garbage game at any price isn't "crazy cheap", it's predictably crap. I don't get excited over the seven-cent games on steam sales. Why? Because that's all they're worth.
I know this is cheaper than PS Plus and XBL, but good lord these are underwhelming. Very disappointing. Still waiting on some SNES games at the very least, maybe Earthbound or Link to the Past. As is, this "service" really feels more like a troll under the bridge between myself and the online games that were sold to me with the understanding that I would be playing them online in the first place. Splatoon 2 doesn't even have dedicated servers yet, and we've already fractured the community with this pitiful twenty dollar tax.
The whole point of Game and Watch is that he's a time capsule of ancient gaming. Personally, I think it's generally kinda lame to remove a relatively tame animation from his set if it's a reference to some old Game and Watch game, but I'm not heartbroken over it.
That said, I am Italian. I want the Mario Brothers removed. They do not represent the company's values of today.
With this kind of service, the monthly plans often exist just to make the annual plan look like a better deal. If you own the console and play online games then this is a pretty important function. No way you're gonna just go month-by-month.
I suck at this game, but used to enjoy it a lot on my Vita. Probably going to pick it up when it goes on sale. It's not one of those games that you beat, but it's fun in short bursts to try and push just a little bit further than last time.
I like the idea of a gaming phone, but I feel like it would need to come from an actual video game industry leader to be appealing. I would like a console with a phone function, not a phone with a console function because ultimately issues like storage space, frame rate consistency and a games library will be what decides if it's worth owning.
@SirRandall Dude he's paying a monthly fee to get Classic games and they picked three crappy old games he has no interest in. Why would he not be peeved? Switch Online has been kind of a wreck for most of us, this is nothing to be surprised by.
I want to be into these but I just can't wait for the SNES, N64 and Gamecube titles. The NES is an interesting old system but most of the games were meant for single sessions. Link to the Past, Star Fox, OG Smash, that's what will really get my attention.
@rjejr I mean if it's a free game or dlc or something maybe, but all of these articles on just "They uploaded a picture of Mario" are getting really tedious.
This is cool and all, but I feel like most people are waiting on Gamecube or at least Snes. NES games are interesting, but the lack of save files (in most) gives them more of an arcade feel, even with the restore point system. I just can't pick up that many NES games and be really entertained for more than a few minutes. The only ones I can think of that I still really sit down and play are Super Mario Bros 3, Punch Out, Donkey Kong and maybe Balloon Fight.
Apple users have so few choices that the very idea of a larger screen is apparently mind-boggling. How people can stick to the iPhone brand even today is strange.
A 2gb download. What could they possibly be thinking? Mobile games need mass appeal to catch on, and unfortunately, the average mobile user needs to really think twice before trying any app over a hundred MB. This seems like a case of poor optimization.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work if you had a different account tied to your PSN. The option to sign out from PSN is gone too, they say we won't be able to do this until November. Ugh. Sony is the worst.
@BensonUii Mostly. Depending on the choices one make in Season 2 they can get a sort of cliffhanger ending, but frankly it's more of a tease for season 3 than anything else. Season 1 is pretty fun and season 2, while not perfect, is really ambitious and one of my personal favourite Telltale games. I would have loved more but if it ends here, I'm still pretty happy with it.
@Tasuki The batman games are finished on Switch, though depending on the choices you make season 2 can potentially end with a bit of a cliffhanger. I still enjoyed them quite a bit and would totally recommend them.
I'm sure a smooth, if less flashy port of this game is possible. That said, I kind of wish publishers wouldn't keep releasing games in this state. It makes me hesitant to buy any non-first party titles on launch day lest I fall victim to lag or glitches. The Switch can be a really great console but games need to be well optimised for them to really shine on it.
I find it hard to believe that cloud save for Splatoon just couldn't happen without cheating. It'd be impossible, apparently, to just update it and start storing your rank online so if your save says you're a rank x player but the server says otherwise it could just send you down. Splatoon is one of those games that players invest hundreds of hours into. It's exactly the kind of game I want a backup for in the first place.
That's a shame, I actually use the video capture for Fortnite quite a bit. It ran perfectly fine on day one, but I guess season 5 is just nonstop issues. Hoping they'll get their act together soon so this feature can return.
Hoping they'll make some good use out of David. I'm playing through the Phantom Pain now and Snake's current VA just doesn't seem natural. He sounds like a thirty year old dude, not a guy who spent half a week in the woods eating snakes and shooting Russians.
Trying the digital version right now. It's not super clear yet where one goes to pay, nor how much it is. As is it's a cute little shop, but seems to have a very limited selection. If you like Assassin's Creed though they've got a ton of that.
This sounds really neat, I've yet to hear of the service but I think I'll check it out. I mostly use Comixology now and it's nice, but sometimes hard to justify spending on comics when they end with a classic to be continued.
Pretty sick of this toll-booth nonsense for online play. It's not a data plan, it's just connecting my multiplayer game to other people with the same multiplayer game. I'm not gonna pretend that Nintendo sold us multiplayer games with the idea that we wouldn't be expecting to play them. It just feels like punishing players for playing online.
@Balchad The building has a second control scheme in the settings that's so much better it should probably just be default. I very much recommend trying it out, it's a different experience.
I still play it a ton on my Switch. This past few updates it has been pretty darn buggy, but those bugs only effect the first thirty seconds or so of the game while everything loads in. It's annoying, sure, but it doesn't really effect me. I typically just drop near a location, get a gun and then move in to the location after it's loaded. It's far from unplayable, but I would still like to see them putting a greater focus on the Switch version.
I'm all for telltale games being more choices and fewer puzzles, I really like it. If anything, more QTE action sequences like in Batman, and maybe make them optional for group audiences. What I would like is just more content that isn't on a linear track. If I finish a telltale series, I want to know that my experience has been significantly different from others. It's very distracting to watch the tension in a scene evaporate after provoking a character because the linear story says it's time to move on.
I should certainly hope so. This game regularly goes on sale on Steam and PS3 for around five bucks with all of that content, so I'm not planning on coughing up too much here.
A lot of it is probably ambitious publishers hoping to make cash on the new console. Payday 2, for instance, might have succeeded if it launched for ten bucks. At fifty though people just ignore it. I'm looking forward to the eshop getting more competitive over time.
Kinda weird we don't get a preorder discount in most eshop games. I see it with nindie titles from time to time, but mainstream titles are already steep at eighty Canadian dollars. If it knocked a five or ten off the price I would probably pre-order a handful of titles early.
I still want some folders and themes, but I'll admit that the easy, quick startup of the home menu is really tempting. I love my PS4 but navigating the menu to Netflix takes weirdly way longer than it should for a system that powerful. Were there an option to keep it lighter, I would probably take it.
Beats the hell out of that last statement. "Overwatch is on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4. Those are the consoles it's currently on". That was worse than nothing. Personally I've pretty much abandoned the PS4 for most games, I'd love to give Overwatch a second chance, provided it doesn't launch again for the full eighty bucks (CAD).
I'll happily check it out if it's free-to-play, if anything because the idea of a battle royale incorporating controls anywhere near as good as the ones in Splatoon is too interesting to skip. That said, if they want to survive they'll need to work hard to separate their identity from Fortnite. As is, this looks pretty bargain bin...
Exactly what it needed. I was gonna pass on this one until I saw some gameplay and reviews, even then I kinda need to play it to get it. Not enough demos on the system, and I feel like they can really make the difference. I didn't plan on playing Octopath until I played that 3-hour sample, after that it was a pre-order.
I was gonna get this for a laugh with some friends, but that price is absurd for a cruddy old title like this. I'll snatch up classics for cheap any day, but this kind of money is reserved for actual good indie titles.
I've currently got a lovely 400gb card that runs all switch titles smoothly. It's not like a PC, your card only needs to be of a certain speed to run. A super fast card won't really make a difference in the game. This seems like a classic case of just slapping "gaming" on the box.
I've never used a rom of a game which had a virtual console, remaster or re-release out there. I find most people just use them to play games that can no longer be experienced, and I think that's perfect. The way to crush piracy isn't by taking these sites down, it's with convenience. If I can pay a few bucks to play a game on my Switch, I'll always choose that option first.
