Hamster recently revealed its next batch of Neo Geo re-releases on the Switch eShop and it most certainly is a varied lot. Timely World Cup fever strikes next week with the third installment of the popular Super Side Kicks series, followed immediately by one of the finest one-on-one weapon combat games that isn't Samurai Showdown. Look away right now if you'd prefer to have Switch eShop surprises for the next five weeks. Otherwise:
-
Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory
-
The Last Blade 2
-
Money Puzzle Exchanger
-
The Super Spy
-
League Bowling
Overall, this looks to be a top quality bunch. Are you looking forward to expanding your virtual arcade Switch collection with any of these titles in the near future? We reckon The Last Blade 2 hasn't aged a single day.

I'm definitely buying The Last Blade 2. I'm also interested in Money Puzzle Exchanger, how good is it compared to the Magical Drop series?
Last blade 2! Yes
Nice, been waiting for the Last Blade 2 since they started releasing these
Super Sidekicks 3 will be my next purchase from that list and maybe The Last Blade 2. I've played Super Sidekicks 3 from the SNK Classics Vol 1 collection. It's a great footie arcade game with good music and great visual goal sequences.
Last Blade 2 is a no-brainer.
I'll be buying Super Sidekicks 3 on Thursday, perfect game to play before the big kick off. Legendary Eleven certainly isn't that game. I just bought SS2 a few weeks ago too, I doubt I'll play thag again once I have 3,which looks to be more of the same but more teams, more cups and slightly better graphics.
MONEY PUZZLE EXCHANGER!!!!!
kermit flail
I know it's not Neo Geo, but I'd also love to see a port of Coin Puzzle Moujiya, which is a very similar game, except it's a falling objects puzzle game, not the Magical Drop style of Money Puzzle Exchanger. I have a copy for the Saturn, but I would buy Moujiya in a second if it came out for the Switch.
If they're cheap, somewhere around five bucks or less I'll happily take the odd gamble and check them out. Provided that they have rewind or restore points or some other such cheat in place to help those of us who don't like running out of lives in old games.
I don't know. I already own Last Blade. I actually consider it superior to its predecessor. Do I really need two Last Blade games? On the other hand...
Definitely down for Money Puzzle Exchanger! I owned the MVS cart over a decade ago but had to sell it and the rest of my MVS carts at that point in time (except Galaxy Fight, because it's busted).
I also had The Super Spy briefly for my home cart system, traded that in for Crossed Swords, then that for Riding Hero (the trade-in order may be different, but whatever), finally settling on Samurai Shodown II. I'll definitely be picking up that, League Bowling, and Last Blade 2 as they come out.
@EmirParkreiner It's definitely a different, yet similar, beast because of the whole money-matching aspect. And new, satisfying, chains will be formed in entirely new ways because of that. I like them both, to be honest. Magical Drop being more frantic, and Exchanger with the extra level of thought involved.
@FTPinkRabbit The Arcade Archive games, NEOGEO and others, have never gone on sale, though I can't speak for other platforms (like PS4). $8+tax US is the usual price. There is exactly 1 restore point, under "Create Interrupt Save Data" in the menu, and no rewind feature.
Been holding off getting Last Blade in case LB2 came out, just to confirm; is Last Blade 2 better than the first game?
I just hope they get around to releasing Viewpoint on Switch. It never really has gotten a decent home console release outside the original (and absurdly expensive for the time) Neo Geo CD hardware.
Dang, no proper brawlers or shooters, not even sure what’s left. Perhaps they’ll put out more Irem catalog...
But when are they giving us Twinkle Star Sprites over here in the west?
I’m still hoping they will release Cyber Lip at some point.
I always wanted to play Super Spy. I have Last Blade 2 on PS4 so I might pass on that one.
I love the Switch for the fact that it feels like a NGPC, minus the micro switches in the analog stick. Neo Geo is one of my top-three all time favorite consoles, and the quality of the ports from Hamster have been quite good. MPE and LB2 for me, definitely.
I was really hoping for Metal Slug 4
I assume HAMSTER going to wait after the launch of the NeoGeo Mini before they release games like Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, Cyber Lip, Metal Slug 4 & 5, KOF 2002, and Samurai Shodown V Special as releasing those could prevent some customers to avoid getting the NG Mini.
@shonenjump86 Same, kinda wish I hadn't bought Last Blade 2 on ps4 now. Next they're gonna put SamSho V Special on Switch and I'm gonna feel even worse.
I love their devotion to the Switch with all of these game releases. Ubisoft who?
@Platinumhobo maybe it’s not so bad when you think about having them both on 2 different consoles. You have online play on the PS4 but on Switch you can take the games anywhere you go. Works out either way I say. 👍🏾
Last blade 2!
@Pazuzu666: While I slightly prefer gameplay in the Last Blade 2, the first has better atmosphere and a cooler final boss.
@Masurao You’re gatekeeping, friend. Games are meant for anybody who wants to play them.
Well at least we are finally getting Last Blade 2 for Switch.
Now all we need is to get KOF 97 at some point.
Definitely going to pick up Money Puzzle Exchanger
Nice !!! the last blade 2 is a must have, not really excited about the super spy, the game is too long.
I am still waiting for metal slug 4 and 5. KOF 2001, 2002, Samurai V Special and also Ninja Commando.
SNK must know that the NEO GEO is a complete mini is a waste of money because severely lacks gaming features and options for neo geo gamers.
I’ve been waiting for Money Puzzle Exchanger ever since the first batch of NEO GEO games were announced on Switch at launch.
