Re: Wii U OS Version 5.5.2 Is Now Live

I know miiverse was basically worse than the black death, but I still loved the idea of it. Splatoon 2 is trying to keep its posting system self-contained but I'm holding out hope for a miiverse replacement to come along one day and maybe, so long as we're dreaming, allow you to simply tag your posts as NSFW and then draw all of the willies you want.

Re: Splatoon 2 Has A Nasty Surprise In Store For Rage Quitters

Seems like a good idea to me, but only if the ban time is short. I mean like, maximum of one hour short. I've had one night of frustratedly trying to get a stable connection for the wii U version. Add in that you're, say, trying to play in a hotel room with crap wireless and all of a sudden you've got a totally reasonable disconnection pattern. If you lose an hour, fair enough. It's not working out for you. If you lose say, a day, well shoot. You're straight up blocked for the whole day from playing the game you bought with the online account you're still paying for.

"DN: There’s a possibility for everything and anything in this world."

Dude, it's cool if you don't wanna support the Switch. Don't try to give people the "anything is possible" routine though, and don't make up a reason. Say it's power. Or dealing with different resolutions. Heck, say you don't like the tone of gray on the system. Don't make up a reason that doesn't make sense to the console owners, it just makes you look silly.

Re: 3DS OS Version 11.5.0-38 Is Now Available for Download

Eh, I think the best stability is the type you don't even notice. My 3DS has always performed perfectly (pardoning one brief time where it used to stay asleep after you opened it up, but that's long past). Glad to have them working behind the scenes though to keep that the standard. I still do play the system a fair bit even with the Switch, although I do wish I could bring a lot of my games over even if it took re-purchasing them Mariokart style.

@AlexOlney Actually, I'm kind of with him. It is helpful to have a video laying out the info, but Nintendolife isn't a charity. We keep our adblockers off and do what we can to support the site because we like it, seems like he's entitled to give feedback if it would lead to him visiting the site more.

Heck, I would too. I'm not a fan of YouTube videos, I also prefer to just read and check the images when there's something to show off.

I wouldn't mind a demo here. I'm curious, but not curious to the tune of an uninformed purchase.

Re: Random: Internet Reacts Badly To The New Snake Pass Menu Icon

MourningBrew

I actually will admit that yeah, I really dislike the menu icon for Snake Pass. Sitting next to Binding of Isaac and GoNNER's gorgeous artwork the Snake Pass icon just looks like some freemium mobile game, and the overly-childish eyes don't help.

It's not a huge deal, but it would be worth changing to something more aesthetically pleasing. Especially because I quite like the game.

Re: Review: Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch eShop)

MourningBrew

@easygoingthief You might not have gotten it to download. Go to the eshop, then hit redownloadable software. If it isn't there, launch the game and try to use it. When it gives you the trial pop up hit B, then try again. The most it ever gave me was three times, just a, b, a, b, a, b, a. It's a pain, but hopefully the bug will be fixed soon.

Re: Video: Is ARMS a 'Hardcore' Fighting Game?

MourningBrew

Seems like they've been trying to heat up for a competitive market over this past console cycle. Mariokart 8 introduced the music box to deter blue shells, Splatoon broke off into a ranked mode where strategy played a greater role and Sm4sh eliminated tripping and did what it could to restrict the random chance. I expect Arms to be following in that tradition.
