Did people get this upset when Mario brandished his nips, wore short sleeves, showcased the stitching in his coveralls or... gasp... unveiled his 3D model for the first time? Times change, and it's OK. Love whichever you like, but progress, for better or worse, is still progress.
Finally. I've been wanting this in past generations when I've wanted to sell my previous gen system. This time though I'll be handing my Switch 1 to my mom and I'll be getting Switch 2. I assume this doesn't go for save data...?
Dang, I too thought it was an eShop filter. Also, so you can hide certain things from the virtual card but can't hide certain games from your play history? Seems half thought out, though I know you can just block your WHOLE play history...
Most excited, with no confirmation, would have to go to Star Fox. Star Link teased me with an idea of what it could become, yet combining with the best qualities from SF64, SFA, and SF:A and online multi-player, it could become a major must have. F-Zero is right behind that for me, but it's been too long for SF.
I'm focusing on accessories for the first year, so express microSD card for sure, and if my Switch 1 power cord doesn't work, then I'll consider an AC adapter. I've made due with my Switch power cord and separate adapter just fine-- Just need to know NS2's power requirements and I can figure it out from there. I don't "need" the NS2 Pro Controller, but I've always wanted a second pro controller anyway, and it's apparent "sexiness" is irresistible, so I will pursue that, too. 2026 I will pursue NS2 and it's games.
Nothing is happenstance. The software may have been ready which I can agree with, but the aging Switch 1, combined with Switch 2 having all of those months to ramp up and build hype in time for the holiday season where more games will come, combined with fiscal numbers as shareholders have a saying in things too, equals the grand decision to drop in June. Oh and, you probably wouldn't want to drop this when a new Playstation or Xbox comes out, which is something Nintendo hasn't even remotely done since the release of the GameCube. No, there was thought in this decision. Whether it was the best decision time will tell.
Most days I just forget. Sometimes I pop in and there's the odd interesting thing, but nothing I can't get elsewhere. I must need to set some notifications or something because I always seem to miss when there's an F-Zero 99 special event/etc, or something like that. But most of the time I catch that on my Nintendo News through my Switch anyways so, six of one half dozen the other I suppose.
Anything other than the full fat game on the physical cart is not worth being on your shelf. It's a shame because physical collectors are really doing nothing more than collecting the physical game case these days. Since you have to do a digital download anyway with these code in boxes and game key cards, all they should be doing is making digital downloads resellable, but, that's apparently where the game key cards come in. You fake own it, but can real sell it. I've slapped my forehead so many times at all this...
I must be imagining things... I thought Nintendo said they'd have more than enough supply? I always find that comical anyway because you don't know WHAT you can supply if you don't KNOW how many are demanding it. Long story short, this doesn't surprise me.
So controversial, though I have a better understanding now. As far as I'm concerned, many "physical" games aren't "complete", meaning they don't have all the patches/DLC/etc. on the vanilla game card anyway off rip these days, save for a few, so even though it's in one's collection, if you ever loose your downloaded updates for some reason, and the servers that downloaded that info to the game card are shut off, you're left with a physical, incomplete, vanilla copy of said game. You win, but still lose in this digital download age.
Meh... it sucks, but true "ownership" is becoming a thing of the past the further we go along and there isn't much ado about it. Sadly the game key cards allow me a chance to still rent games and beat them like I've been doing, I'm just going to have to make sure I have the space for them. Hope archiving will still be a thing...
I've technically had a score to settle with this game ever since my 3DS was stolen with Bravely Default in it. After making so much progress I just never returned to it. Now I'm battling my psychological statutes of limitations, as in, if I don't play this game sooner than later, I may give up on it entirely.
At this rate, it looks like I'll be using multiple micro SD cards whether I want to or not. I literally just skated by the skin of my teeth with Switch 1 with a 128GB microSD card.
What's the zero sum? Let's say, I have a game key card I bought and a downloaded game to my Switch 2. Then I simply take this game key card over to my friend's Switch 2, they insert it, and can download it and play the game I bought? Is the whole point of this to be able to resell digital games? Obviously it's to keep from having to physically load the game on there which keeps costs down for devs, but I'm just trying to get the biggest picture of their advantage here...
Since Super Mario Odyssey took the rails off of what worlds Mario could be in, I felt that it really should have got DLC in the form of additional worlds, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. I still think the concept itself has a lot of life and as long as the worlds are clever enough, then a Super Mario Odyssey 2 can work. Then again, if they're working on a whole new original 3D Mario, I still find myself saying where can Mario go next?
Hah, didn't even know that was him, but I absolutely remember the commercial. Now we're playing super together... Yeah, that's a very Paul Rudd statement 😆
So rough estimate, if I want the system, MKW, Switch 2 Pro Controller, and a 1TB microSD Express Card (+tax), I'm looking upwards of around $750 to come up out of. Phew. I think what I'll do is focus on getting the accessories this year, then circle back to the Switch 2 next year.
Just think, the only Mario enemy underling who used to be in Mario Kart in the beginning was Koopa Troopa. Now they have the whole damn gamut of Mario enemies in karts lol. The Snowman takes the take though.. how the hell is he driving it with no arms?
I just thought of a funny scenario of insulting another racer by hitting them with an item while I'm ahead of them, rewinding behind them to hit them with an item again and passing them up LOL. I'm almost certain this scenario is going to come into play on purpose or accidentally.
Considering you usually have to beat all the cups to gain the later cups and courses anyway this doesn't sound like anything that no one will be completing. In other words, Rainbow Road is inevitable so long as you keep playing.
This is all a push toward the digital. I'm not a super fan, but there's only so much you can do to stem the flow of progress. They didn't push for those Express SD cards for nothing.
I stepped out of the TV game for quite a while now, so this guide was very informative and essential for me. I won't say I'm a pro now but I will say I have a greater understanding of current TVs and what is needed now. Thanks NL!
Yeah Yoshi was still a ghost when it hit, so unconfirmed for now.
Question: Was the Blue Shell dodgeable in MK8 without the horn/ghost/star/simultaneous lightning strike? I don't recall it being dodgeable. If MKW is bringing back "power drift blue shell dodging" that's been lost since Double Dash, or even mushroom blue shell dodging being a thing, that makes me happy.
After missing out on X I made sure I played this game back in the day, and I mastered it too. Beating story mode was like beating 3D Ninja Gaiden 1-- I had to go into zen state, but I did it 😆 I'm sure my skills have eroded as bad as milk from 2003, so I'll just be dabbling this go around. I just want to build my custom car again-- I miss getting it up to 2300km with boost+zipper+ airborne combined, hitting hairpins at top speed using triggers alone. I will need the Gamecube controller to rekindle that feeling.
What a brain child of production-- The Game Kitchen, Dotemu, Team Ninja, Koei-Tecmo... I'm at a loss for words. Usually I don't buy into hype, but this has A LOT going for it that it MUST succeed. I'm confident, so I hope they can stick the landing. I won't say I'm an end all be all NG fan, but I am a fan of the series, so I'm looking forward to this.
@Antraxx777 Soundtrack was bangin' for sure, one of my all time favs. I don't recall a remake of Lufia 1... We're you referring to the remake of Lufia II, Curse of the Sinistrals? That game was TERRIBLE for the initiated. They butchered it so badly 😆
From the demo, I thought the gameplay wasn't bad, just too many cutscene interruptions, though the characters are relatively charming. I'd play it through, but I'm deep in my backlog currently, so I'll give the game a pass for now.
Finally "I" can forget about Lunar Legend, which humorously was my first foray at this beloved series and, truncated or not, made me love what this series is about. Lunar is like gaming soulfood-- It is not the best, greatest, groundbreaking RPG one can play, but it's just fun.
Off topic but I wish Lufia I and II were getting some modern love. Even a remake of Lufia: The Legend Returns would be nice.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition
Trigger fan finally giving this game a fair shake. Fun so far.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Imma a little conflicted now that I know an enhanced version will exist once Switch 2 comes. But then again, I do have The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom I still need to deal with, so I'll keep playing for now.

Mega Man Network Transmission
Edit:
I had to throw these on too...
Skies of Arcadia Legends (PLEASE!)
Mega Man X Command Mission
