Well now, ok... I'll take it. Still looking forward to StarTropics and Super Metroid. Maybe they can start releasing the 8 and 16 bit games en masse like this more often.
I'll be playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Through an innocent visit to Hateno, I'm now the holder of the Master Sword. It would take too long to explain how it transpired, but if you played this or Breath of the Wild, you know how one side mission becomes a whole other adventure.
Mm hm, I see... 7/10. I got a "good enough" vibe from the trailers, so I'm not entirely fussed about it. I'm glad it's at least a competent play for the most part. The rest will be the intrigue of this playbook tear up of Pac-Man. What (and why) is this world? Is this a manifestation of what Pac-Man "really" is? Has Pac-Man been the bad guy this whole time for 40+ years? I simply have to play this game, and it still sounds worth my time.
I could nitpick, but honestly, they look the part enough. I'm waiting to see who will play Gannondorf/Ganon-- That will be the real money maker for me.
They should've got started with that between the Mario movies imo. I felt there was enough "DK" to spawn its own movie from the Super Mario Bros. Movie, but I digress, better late than never.
He was a once in a lifetime type of CEO, and Nintendo was extremely lucky to have had him helm their company. He was exactly the leader needed for a company like Nintendo. His famous phrase at the beginning of this article sums him up perfectly. Nintendo is fine these days, but they lack some of the charm and whimsy they had during the DS-Wii U days, and have been providing it through other employees and other means... But it's not the same. I'm glad to have lived through those days and I cherish them wholeheartedly.
As long as a game is art by its merits of gameplay and quality, then that will speak for itself. If art is the intent initially in its creation, that can go a couple different ways.
As much as I would love to see Mega Man more often, his heavy lifting hey day is behind him, at least, because of Capcom. The franchise is a legacy pillar of Capcom that helped build their house, but not a main pillar anymore to their business sadly. At this point he's premium fan service and nothing more. How I would love to see the original series keep going with 12, the X series with X9, or a whole new original Mega Man series.
I had my eye on this one, and I see it's from the same people that did Wallachia, which wasn't bad. I'm shocked this actually got a review but I'm glad I had a chance to get someone's opinion on it. It still seems like something I'd play as a fan of Castlevania, but it's not going to be high on my list at this moment. Maybe after a hard sale.
I always wanted to play Chibi Robo so I look forward to playing that one. I had started Pokemon XD back in the day on GCN because I was so happy it was playable in three dimensions, but I wasn't really feeling the game... Maybe I'll try it again? I'd rather spend that time playing Pokemon Legends Arceus, another game I need to finish playing. One game that wasn't on this list that I didn't get to play, and intended to, was Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Oh, and also, since Sega isn't doing anything with this other game I'm about to mention, maybe Sega will see fit to at least release it on NSO, and I'm referring to Skies of Arcadia Legends. I'm so mad I never took the time to finish that game when I was borrowing it and have caught hell since trying to play it again legally. Needless to say I have high hopes for NSO GameCube, and I look forward to any other games coming that I meant to play.
So humorous. I like Breakout, but I wasn't thrilled to find out that this game is played on its side like Pong. Even funnier is how Pong was side on, and Breakout emerged from playing Pong one player and flipping it vertical, so it's kind of like the game coming full circle. The last funny thing is that you have to resort to Tate mode to playing this in the true Breakout orientation.
Such a different take on the Pac-Man franchise. I'm a Pac-Man fan, and I also have an open mind, so I am very very interested in this game. The concept is Unapologetic and how they literally just taken Pac-Man as we know it and applied him in a new way. My final wish is that the review is good. I'm watching this one with bated breath.
Ah, gotta love the 3 adjective + noun hero/heroine fighting team concepts! As for this particular game, I look forward to seeing how it is considering that's one helluva intro. Guns check. Anime ok. Schoolgirls... sure? Full on Japan type concept, you know it!
I'm glad he followed his heart. Better to do so than wish you had have-- If it doesn't work out, you can at least say you tried. On an unrelated but related note, Omega 6: The Triangle Stars is on sale for 50% on the eShop.
I'm playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and making my way to Gerudo desert. I'm feeling like playing something retro but I haven't figured out what yet. I'll just simply say I'm going to dig around in NSO to see what I can find.
I'm refraining from over-judging all aspects of this game until I know all the details and seen a review or two. Seems like folks want to find a reason to hate this game. For now I'm still intrigued.
I almost didn't go through the track listing as I could only remember a couple tunes, but I'm glad I did-- Yo-Yo-Yoshi!, Yoshi's Disco, Dub Master Spider, and Play It Again, Yoshi were the truth for me. Absolute fire.
Not one of the greatest controllers, but definitely one of the most beloved. Definitely A1 when it comes to Nintendo style games or other niche type games. I still always wanted a bigger D pad, a true right analog stick, and a true ZL button, but I digress.
I wasn't crazy about non-Mario characters being in the game anyway. It was cute, but it would have forced a Nintendo Kart inevitably, which would not have been a bad thing, but it ain't Mario Kart if you don't keep it in the family. I feel the same about Smash Bros. and how they need to get back to it being mostly Nintendo characters. It's been nice branching out into other worlds but they need to reel it in. Just my two cents.
JP sells the fun, Europe does the same but excessively, and North America just has a crazed gorilla slamming congos with no other subtext (too on the nose).
Speaking of drip feed, I wonder when Nintendo will get around to some more known releases like StarTropics II, Faxandu, Wario Land 1, or Wario Land 2, or even some lesser knowns like Shatterhand or Power Blade. I'll always take obscures.
Continuing on with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom-- I utterly got destroyed when I went to the floating coliseum. I will return you damn Lynels!
It will come when it comes. With DKB, MKW, and MP4 just to name a few, the hype has to die down for these before we can even talk of a next 3D Mario. Or next 3D Zelda for that matter.
The Gamecube. This was during a time when I finally FOUND friends to play with. SSB Melee and MK: Double Dash!! were our top go to's. It was on in my parents' basement every week. If it wasn't these games, then it was Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, F-Zero GX, Ultimate Muscle, WWE Day of Reckoning 1 then eventually 2, X-men Legends 1 then eventually 2-- And I know I'm missing some. Glad this article came out today-- I guess I can say my nostalgia for GCN is because I had the most fun with friends during this time in my life, and that's no rose tinted glasses take, either.

I'm interested. As long as my sticks do not get bumped, or bumped due to the system sliding in the case, then it's a winner for me.

Can't wait for the inevitable Shadow Labyrinth review. Most anticipated, along with DKB.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (5th July)
Three games in the pipeline this time:
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Finally done with Gerudo and the 4 phenomena. Gonna head back to Lookout Landing and see what's next.
Berserk Boy
This is a very fun Mega Man-like. Reminds me of a cross between something WayForward would produce and Capcom. Good, accessible fun.
StarTropics
This is my retro soulfood... I felt like clearing ch 6, so that's done. Time to move on to the spaceship.
