Wish I could be saying "Next weekend I'll be playing MKW and Donkey Kong Bananza!", but it's not in the cards until next year, so... it'll be a Switch 1 weekend until then.
With that said, I will be continuing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, sprinkling in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate and Steel Racer.
Once I squash some "life purchases", I'll pick up the pursuit to procure a Switch 2... So ready to hand my Switch 1 to my mom.
I have one for my Switch 1, but I don't use it much because I don't travel that often with my dock, unless I'm going over my friend's house. I probably won't repeat that with Switch 2, especially if my current case works. I might be more interested in that smaller case option since I will definitely need that for when I get a Switch 2, but I'll likely find a suitable off brand.
On an unrelated note, I noticed that when games are purchased that were once on your wishlist in the eShop, FINALLY they auto-remove themselves. Way long overdue.
I like Capcom, but I hate their modern day business practices to always take the route of least resistance. They give us some great things, but there's always a step back with those guys.
Sword of Hope reminds me of Shadowgate, Univited, and Deja Vu so I'm not surprised to see Kemco behind it (From the Kemco-Seika days). I'll definitely be giving that a whirl. Gradius may get some air time too.
Last Window... I don't think that came out in NA, but I don't recall. Definitely liked Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I still need to play the follow up to Trace Memory.
I see the ZL button is very small and index-y-- I can't see it having a use for Gamecube games, so I really don't see why they included it without at least making it a full blooded button.
I just wrapped up Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. Gonna play the demo of Star Ocean 2 since I have no idea when I will be getting around to playing it proper. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will continue.
@GammaPhonic your comment is exactly what I was thinking after reading this article. It seems like every time Retro gets started with something original, Nintendo shoves them to another project. I don't know all the internal workings, so I won't say what's fair and what's unfair, but let's just say I would love to see more original content from them.
Lots of great comments that I share similar feelings with. I feel that Bayo 3 was grand in vision, but didn't hit some of the series highs I was expecting from previous installments. For one, I felt it was trying to split time unnecessarily with a second character (though I liked her). The plot felt weak to me, like they they've run out of directions to keep going with the Trinities of Reality. It's easy for me to say that I would prefer Kamiya to keep helming the series "just because" he's the father of it, but I remain optimistic that this is a blessing in disguise as perhaps, this series IS in need of new eyes. I want to see the series evolve, but I need it to still maintain what makes it special. For now, I'll just consider it on the shelf.
Ah yes... the weekend. Mother's Day weekend here in the States. I'm getting all my gaming out of the way before tomorrow. GameFly is canceled for now so I can focus on my immediate backlog. On tap today is...
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 Long overdue. Four main stages to go before late game.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Finally, and I can't wait. Main feature.
Wonderful piece. There's two things I can say for sure in my life: 1) If it weren't for videogames, I wouldn't have totally become the person I am today, and likely would've picked up worse vices, and 2) specifically playing Switch 1 was like a "here's is your Nintendo gamer life" era-- How far I've come as a gamer and the person within. Switch feels poetic in my life. Honestly, if I walked away today from gaming, I "could" be satisfied playing Switch until I played all I wanted to play, then just retire-- That's how awesome the Switch was for me.
It may just be a comment from him, but hopefully 3rd parties will take notice and aim for physical as much as possible. I know everything isn't that simple, but the physical audience is quite large and quite vocal, so it'd be wise (for now) to pay attention.
My time has already been at a premium so not much will change there. I'm interested to see how this game key card situation will play out because I usually rent games and beat games from GameFly. I assume GameFly will adopt game key cards as well.
I guess I'm a Shantae fan because I've played them all up until now. Side note, I love the original artwork for Shantae more than I do the modern artwork.
I can't say every Nintendo system has had a profound innovation attached to it, sometimes it was a little more subtle. I don't require Nintendo to go all out every generation anyway. I feel like at this point they've hit a plateau, and while they will always introduce little quirks, I think the weirdest, most radical stuff, is in the past now because they know what they need to do to stay successful. We'll see what happens after this generation.
I want to play devil's advocate here and ask, honestly, so what if it was? If the game was not built with AI, does it matter that much? I'm honestly asking, please provide opinions.
One thing about when Nintendo throws their weight behind a third party and a game of theirs, Nintendo will make sure that it has everything it needs to be a hit.
So one of the first things I did was start paring down my wishlist and prioritized my backlog, both for now, and into the future to prepare for Switch 2. I have 2 main tasks: Complete The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Xenoblade Chronicles X THIS year, the sooner the better, and the former first. My immediate backlog consists of another priority-- Bringing the Gunvolt series to a close by beating Luminous Avenger iX 2, then in turn Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. The former will be kicked off today. Lastly, I am kicking off Gravity Circuit and am going to try to dispose of that this weekend. Honorable mention and retro throwback will be Super Thunder Blade... Just wanted to see more of that game to know what it's about.

Re: A New 3D Metroidvania Has Been Confirmed For Switch 2
Looks a little rough. Seems like it could use more optimization.
Re: Sega Says It Will Stop The New Virtua Fighter Project If It's Not "Good Enough"
Sounds like it shouldn't have been announced just yet if that's the case. What a buzz kill.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th May (North America)
Call of Glory... Really...?
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 20.1.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Blast16 not sure, maybe it's not retroactive? I just know any post update purchases I've done removes it from my wish list.

Way, way late, but there's a shot it'll be on GameFly now, so I'll keep track of it.
Re: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Launches October, Switch 2 Version Confirmed
So... Will be released on Switch 1 and 2, but Switch 2 will be game key card only? So I'll... get it for Switch 1 and play it on Switch 2.

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility List
It'd be nice if no shovelware makes the cut but that's too much to ask, I know.
Re: Nintendo Shares Video Detailing New N64 Features For Switch Online
Hallelujah to remapping N64 controls without warping all system controls. I have zero issue with N64 rewind either.
Re: Review: Old Skies (Switch) - A Slow But Satisfying Time-Hopping Adventure
I like what this is about at least and I do like old school point n clicks. I'll watch for a sale.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th May)
Continuing with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Must keep pushing.
Gonnan play two retro throwbacks:
Sword of Hope (though I'm starting to think I've played this already... perhaps VC?)
Gradius (Looks slow enough for me to play.)

Re: Want Even More USB Ports On Switch 2? Accessory Firm JSAUX Has Got You Covered
Sheesh, it's turning into the GameBoy with all the 3rd party attachments all over again. I can't imagine some of the Frankenstein monsters on the way.
Re: Anniversary: Perfect Dark, Another N64 Rare Classic, Turns 25
I remember getting this in time for my birthday. I was determined to master it since I didn't get to master GoldenEye.

I still say osmosis-- So Mario is snacking on Fire Flowers, Stars, Cape Feathers, and Hammer Bros. suits too...?

Unieyes and teeth all present and correct.
Re: Random: Do You Recognise This Obscure Nintendo Console From The Switch Online Icons?
Funny... I snapped up that icon back in the day and had NO IDEA what Nintendo system it was. I'm surprised it took this long 😅
Re: Nintendo Explains Why Mario Kart World Isn't Called 'Mario Kart 9'
I honestly saw the numbers as lazy anyway because they didn't want to come up with subtitles. Hopefully we never see them again; Useless confusion.
