To promote the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC (The Crown Tundra), Nintendo's battle royale game Tetris 99 is this weekend hosting a special pocket monster-themed event from 16th - 19th October.
If you missed this theme the first time around, it's a little easier now - as it is unlocked at 50 events points instead of 100. It features background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by Sword and Shield.

So it's the same as the previous theme? Okay, already have it, I'll pass.
Eh, kinda cool for the 2 people who wanted to play that event but didn't have the chance.
The first time they released this theme was when I first noticed how unbearably grating the Sword and Shield soundtrack is. By far the worst theme so far.

I mean, how hard would it have been to swap in some DLC sprites to go along with the DLC?

Only missing this one and the Kirby one with the latter being purchasable with tickets.
We need some new themes to unlock. I already have the existing ones which was my main drive to play the game daily.

Hm, there should be new themes, such as Pikmin, Breath of the Wild/Hyrule Warriors 2 or Super Mario 3D All-Stars...
I’ll bet there will be a Hyrule Warriors themed one when Age of Calamity releases.
I’m only missing the first theme: the GameBoy one.
I don’t understand why RingFit etc gets repeated instead of the first few.
Missed this the first time round so happy to pick it up. Also, an 11th place which is my highest yet.
I got this theme the first time around, but I don't think I used it again. Played it last night and really enjoyed it, so it was like a win for me.
Played a few games and got the theme... Job done..
I've played and beaten Sword, and the first thing I thought when I saw this article was, 'there's a sword & shield theme song?' oops.
