I counted 10 tracks in here that I’m interested in, so I’m excited! Usually there’s only 3 or so new ones that I like so... this year is actually killing it haha

Lots of Tik Tok dance songs. Also Get Get Down by Paul Johnson! That's a legit house track. Getting this as soon as the price drops to around £25.

This series was far more interesting when it focused on actual big songs rather than flash in the pans, I do like to fire it up last years on the Switch though and the subscription is worth it as I lose some weight dancing like a prick to this.

IDK I could pretty much get this game for free if I look up these songs on YouTube.

Slightly better songs than previous 10..

Too much garbage that will be forgotten once the new flavour of the month drops.

I never liked the fact that Ubisoft switched from numbered releases to "annual" releases as these yearly releases have been such a step down in respect to the quality of the songlists.

It seems that Ubisoft only licenses the music in these releases for about 2 years before the games go out of print (older Just Dance games are gradually removed from the eShop) as they do not care for longevity.

I recognised 3 songs! These games are actually quite fun with friends

If you don't know these half of them are from tiktok, I mean the app's full of dance crazes, so that's a no brainer!

Juice is the standout for me, favourite song of the past year!

so I'm going down the list being like, I recognize some of these songs, mostly as the stupid pop songs I don't like but then I'm about halfway down the list and what! Without me by Eminem?!? What??!!! what is that doing in just dance, and just dance 2021? that song is 1. not very family-friendly so I'm surprised it's in there. 2. came out in (one quick google search later) 2002. 3. I'm don't use tik tok so I might be wrong but I am pretty involved in internet culture and as far as I know this song isn't a thing right? but holy cow was not expecting that one. i have a younger sister who might like to play it, I might mess around with it for a bit (mostly because of without me) so might pick it up if I can get it for cheap (around 25ish bucks). but wow, that came out of nowhere.

@Lilash20 A good chunk of these songs are definitely older songs. Specifically Eminem, Toy Story and Sean Paul jump out at me immediately. I'm sure there are others. But I do understand your idea. That would be sweet. But probably a nightmare licensing wise

@UmbreonsPapa : Most of them are, yes, but that would entail a separate licensing arrangement (hence the monthly fees being passed on to the consumer).

@Lilash20 : The Wii U games allowed you to use the Gamepad to film yourself dancing and share the footage online. There was also an option for a player to sing into the microphone (meaning that up to seven players can participate at any given time).

Before the introduction of Unlimited, songs were sold via the eShop a la carte, but it wasn't a very good value proposition. I would prefer the odd compilation release (say, an 80s edition, or a disco themed edition) that repackage past songs/dances as opposed to DLC, but Ubisoft hasn't released any "best of" Just Dance games since the Wii days.

dude, I just watched part of one of the versions (I think it was the alt one) of without me and the censorship is strict and it just cuts out completely music and all for what feels about slightly too long, and it's pretty weird.

edit: nope I was wrong about the music cutting out I'm not sure what was up with that? it was Ubisoft's vid so maybe it was a thing they did idk

The songlist was really terrible for my taste. 🤨
Let's compare with Konami Rhythm games that have far better music selections.

Rain on me is the WORST song i have ever heard and i hear it everywhere... kids love just dance but they just lost my money adding rain on me to the game and then the commercial... who ever is out there keeping this in the top ten.... shame on all of you sheep

@Lilash20 : I don't get why they don't reinstate the microphone option though, as a microphone can be connected to the dock via USB.

Also, Ubisoft initially used a 16GB cartridge for 2017, but have used 8GB cartridges for all subsequent installments, which is a shame as the drop in video quality was immediately apparent to me. For the reasons stated above, and Ubisoft's decision to use smaller capacity cartridges, the Wii U versions were, ironically, the best versions overall.

@Silly_G that’s actually hysterical and really fascinating. I didn’t realize that. I’m scoping out Ubi‘s website and don’t see the Wii or WiiU versions for 2021, did they finally stop making JustDance for those consoles?

@Ks123 : 2020 was the last instalment on Wii. 2019 was the last instalment on Wii U.

@Silly_G You do realize every release has been an annual release, right? They started in 2009 and this year they're releaseing their 12th game.

@Anti-Matter You do you I guess? Everyone has a different taste. Just Dance appeals to radio hits and general taste. It's Ubisoft's second most selling IP for a reason.

@hadrian Until they make the effort to bring popular anime songs, it is not worth it for me to get the unlimited. Maybe a day every year is the most I buy...
