Pikmin 3 Deluxe is out on Switch today and as usual with all the latest releases, we want to know if you'll be picking it up.
Although this game originally launched on the Wii U, this new version includes all of the previous DLC, brand new prologue and epilogue missions, an unlockable "Ultra Spicy" difficult mode and the ability to play the story in two-player co-op.
In our Nintendo Life review, we awarded the game eight out of ten stars said it's worth a look on the Switch - especially if you haven't played the original before.
So, will you be picking up Pikmin 3 Deluxe on the Switch? Vote in our poll and leave a comment down below.

Will get it. Don't even know what to expect, as this will be my first time playing the game. Just to see what the hype is all about.
I didn't play the original but this looked interesting... just not sure if I can justify the $60 price when there's other games I want much more currently. Maybe I'll get it on a sale if that ever happens.
I would have but No More Heroes came out. So that is taking my time. Also, I still have it on my Wii U.
Nope. Pikmin just isn't a series for me.
Not yet, but yes eventually. My plate is too full currently.
Where's the option for "Yes, but not now"?
I would buy it today but my budget said no
If this were a re-release of 1 and 2, I'd be jumping on it! 3 just wasn't very good when I played through it on Wii U. It left me feeling disappointed because it ended too soon and I wasn't a fan of the new characters and having to switch between 3 captains (as opposed to just 2).
Played it on Wii U, no need to double dip for this game.
I want to, but broke after Gibbous and NMH1&2, plus already 100% on Wii U, so hard to justify $60 again. Will get on discount later.
Only if Nintendo gives me 50% discount for owning the digital version on the Wii U.
I'm a fool, because my backlog is still big and I'm wanting to do NaNoWriMo in November, but I'm totally gonna get it.
I've never gotten a chance to play before and it seems totally up my alley
@Rpg-lover One of us. One of us. ONE OF US!
Waiting on Black Friday. I don’t mind double dipping but I won’t pay full price.
I want it, but I am in no hurry. I am not lacking in games to play.
Love the game but not buying again
If I get it, I'll get it on a significant discount. The demo convinced me but not enough to buy it on full price.
Did not like the demo. it is a good game, not my cup of tea however.
@San_D So, probably you will never get it, since Nintendo is not very good at "significantly" discounting their first party titles.
Never played a Pikmin game, but tried the demo and got interested, so I'll be picking up a physical copy after work today.
At the first time at sale I'll get it... Yeah, I know it'll take long
I got it in 2013
"The original release on Wii U was enough for me" is probably the right choice for me considering I did play the Wii U version but "Nope" is a better reflection of my feelings towards this port so I voted for that.
Absofreakinlutely.....if this was Pikmin 4. Which it should have been, but it isn’t and it’s dumb it isn’t.
Miyamoto.
Or: absofreakinlutely.....if they had updated the textures of the game. But they didn’t and it’s dumb they didn’t.
Miyamoto.
What with Little Hope out today and the ps5 next month, gonna hold off. Perhaps xmas time
The Wii U version was good but I wouldn't say it's an essential double dip for the novelty of handheld minus the intuitive touchscreen controls.
My 2 younger kids arw wanting to play it on the Switch specifically so we will give it a spin on that. NPC Pikmin 2 was my fav in the series.
I already played it on Wii U, so I got my fill for it already.
I'm not opposed to double-dipping later on, though, albeit under a sale.
I'm jealous of the people who will experience this EXCELLENT game for the first time.
I enjoyed Pikmin in short bursts via NintendoLand. But, personally, asking me to play it for longer than that and/or with a global time limit is just something I can't do. Good for those that enjoy it, though!
@Axlroselm Didn't mean 80 or 90% discount. Maximum I have seen on the eshop is 30%, could be somewhat better if I try to get physical during Black Fridays. This game is definitely not on my priority list, on a "maybe" list maybe.
Now we just need Xenoblade X and, if it’s possible, Nintendo Land, then the Wii U can finally Rest In Peace.
No. Demo didn't do anything for me.
No. Was going to get it, but I need more atm. A release with some true heroes. Can't quite put my finger on the title, but something distracted me.
@AnnoyingFrenzy Same here. I've tried it a few times but I can't get into it. The one I had most fun with is Hey Pikmin.
No. A small bit of extra content is not worth the asking price.
I'm curious as I have never played a Pikmin. But I can only buy one game per month and due to life circumstances, I no longer have enough money to buy it this month. Not to mention that the next month I want to buy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Perhaps I'll buy it in January if I don't buy other games on my list.
I love Pikmin, but I just got a WiiU a year ago and played through this. I want to own it on Switch eventually, but I’m in no rush. Total spent on WiiU + Pikmin 3, $70.
Wish Pikmin 1 and 2 are also on the Switch.
Just waiting on Royal Mail with the physical version.
Pikmin is one of my favourite series. No doubt. Pure Nintendo charm and quirkiness. However, I 100%’ed the original on WiiU and as much as I want to play the additional prologue and epilogue I’m struggling to justify the price. Especially at the moment when money is so tight. Having said that I want Pikmin 4 so I feel like I should get this to show my support for the series. I’m torn. I think I’ll wait and see how well it sells and wait for the 33% discount in about a years time.
Had it on the wii-U and with AC Valhalla coming out in 10 days I will skip this.
I might pick it up pre owned once I'm bored of pillaging Anglo-Saxon England.
@Doofenshmirtz One of us! ONE OF US!!
Ordered it from shopto for £40, hopefully the royal mail brings it today. Hyped
Nope not while nintendo charge full price
Although I enjoyed Pikmin 3 on the Wii U, I'm in no rush to buy yet another retread among a large and still-growing list that have come to account for too high a percentage of first-party Switch titles already. Nintendo is notoriously stubborn about blazing their own path when it comes to hardware and business models, but their consumers could really benefit from them adopting full backward compatibility for legacy games (especially digital purchases linked to each user account) going forward. Switch Online is a bad joke; Nintendo has put scarcely any real effort into supporting it the way they did the Virtual Console.
It's lazy and ridiculous to keep asking people to double-dip for the same half-decade-old games at the same prices as the originals, and while doing so may be a faster process than creating new titles from scratch, it still ties up resources that could be going into original projects.
I wasn't going to, but I had a lot of Nectar points from shopping at Sainsbury's (which you can use on ebay) and there was a 20% off code and, well I caved. It should arrive in the post later today.
Great game, but I've no desire to play it again
I wish I had never gotten a Wii U so I could be experiencing all these great games for the first time on a system I actually enjoy
Full price for a game from 2013? No thanks, why not have all 3 now we know they have a Gamecube emulator? I'll stick to the AVGN game that came out today
I'll get it when it's 25-33% off at some point over the next year.
I had it on WiiU. Great game and the coop is tempting, but the price and the graphics (it hasn't improved at all!) made me want to get it eventually, whenever I see it in a low price.
I’ll get it at the end of the switch life cycle
I will buy it on december right now i have ni no kuni and nmh, nmh2 to play ^^
Nope, might fire up the WiiU so I don’t feel like I’m missing out though
I wonder if it still works... just put it on charge, time will tell!
I would love to have it in my collection someday but I think having it on Wii U is enough for now...
I tried the demo, but I feel like this is another one of those games that benefits from the Wii U Game Pad.
I hope the game does well, though. Would hate for the series to be shelved.
Picked it up and enjoying the hell out of it. Now if we could get the first two games as well, I’d be thrilled.
I’m definitely gonna get it, just probably not for another month or so. I’ve got so many games to play right now that I’m in no rush.
I’ve never played a Pikmin game, so tried the demo last night and quite liked it. I’m personally not bothered that it originated from the Will U, as didn’t have that machine either, but whilst I like what I played, I’ve got enough to get thru and I’ll expect I’ll buy it in another six months or so (and not at full price either).
I already 100% completed it 3 times on Wii U so I don't think I could play it again, even with the added content, I am more curious about what's going on with Pikmin 4.
I’d buy a triple pack or a Pikmin 4
I haven't played a Pikmin since my Gamecube so damn straight I've bought it! Eagerly awaiting the postman as I type this, worked extra hard all week so I can chill with Pikmin 3 today
I tried Pikmin 2 at some point in my life years ago when I got it in a pack of Gamecube games that I bought, I didn't really like it. I don't think it's my style of game at all.
So nope, not interested.
Didn’t have a wiiu, so yes absolutely
It's on the way. Can't wait to play this again
I was mildly interested in this game (never played the series)Then I tried the demo, and completing it to unlock the spicy difficulty on the main game felt like chore. RTS (even with the nintendo twist on the genre are not for me)
Got this in the deal with Wonderful 101 back in the Wii U days when we were all desperate for games. It is still in my backlog, it seemed alright, but I just lost interest quickly. Never really felt an urge to try it again. It's on my SSD so I can always give it another whirl.
Laziest port ever and still £50........ not a chance. Shame on you nintendo
Just never really got in to Pikmin, I'm too much of a perfectionist, so even loosing one is a fail. Just cant do it.
Eh I played a bit of the Wii U original and that was enough for me. I'm good
Maybe if it goes on sale.
Beat the snot out of the original (100% co-op with my siblings was a lot of fun), so was relying on a good amount of new additions to justify paying $60 again. Didn’t deliver that, IMO.
Gimme Pikmin 4 if you want my money, Nintendo.
This will be my 1st Pikmin experience but I gotta wait a bit longer as Amazon delayed my shipment till mid next week.
Had it preordered for my son... but it’s for Christmas. Pikmin 3 is a special game, I’m looking forward to playing it again with him on Switch! Bingo Battle too, underrated mode!
I'm currently distracted by mario 35 and I have a backlog of half a dozen games, so i'll be getting it at some point but not yet.
I'm kinda over remakes and ports. I'm staying away from them all. I'm still not sure about Bowser's Fury.
@Aerona would not go that far, but yeah, I feel ya....
@Nicolai it's almost like they are count this as new content.... Which it is for most of the audience, but for us who supported the system this really is a draught. Thankfully there is good indy support and decent 3rd party. 2020 is quite unmemorable unless u are a huge boardgame and AC fan.
Been there, done that on Wii U. I had fun with the game, but aspects of it annoyed me enough that I'm not eager to play it again. I'd try a new game or ports of the first two, however.
Played the demo, never played a Pikmin game before and I enjoyed it. Might pop it on my list to get at some
Point.
I would have bought this if it was cheaper. Its wild that Nintendo charges 60 for ports. They did the same with Tropical Freeze too. It seems like such a missed oppertunity to have some great but more budget Nintendo titles. Not like they changed much in these ports. Ppl even say graphically its not a big change. Just a bummer Nintendo doesn't consider making their ports cheaper.
Nope, low effort port. Textures looks terrible. This shouldn’t be 59.99.
But hey, it’s Nintendo so we’ll love it.
Rather buy a next gen game on PS5 than pay the same price for a port that has barely been improved graphically since the Wii U. Nintendo has become extremely lazy now that they know they can get away with the bare minimum.
Ordered from Amazon. Didn't bother to pay for the exorbitant release day shipping fee, so I should have it in about a week. No hurry. I have plenty of other games to play until then.
It’s on it’s way from GameFly! I decided not to buy because it doesn’t seem like a long game and I can’t justify paying $60 for this game. I tried the demo and I’m still kinda on the fence.
I dont have the funds to get it now but one of the best games ever worth the double dip for portable and pikelppedia
It’s a local multiplayer game. I won’t be able to play those again until like, a year from now
Already have it on WiiU with all the DLCs. I may get it in the future for Switch but I'm good for now as there are not enough changes for me to double dip immediately. Also, bingo battle should have an online mode ...
Nope, not adding anything to my backlog since I’ll be moving all of my game time to the PS5 for the foreseeable future.
I might pick up a used wii u copy of pikmin 3 for 18 euros, but I'm definitely not spending the full 60 to play an old game on the switch.
What happened to all the pikman 3 defenders before release who were going on and on about how much new content nintendo was adding to this game. Oh shoot.. they didn't add much eh.
What about the pikman 3 defenders who said sure it's 720p but thatsjust the demo so be patient and the game will be 1080p.
Playstation offers God of war collection upscaled to ps4. Xbox offers halo collection upscaled. Activision will sell you either a crash trilogy or spyro trilogy for the same price.
At least this comment section has shifted to people seeing the light. I love nintendo but I'm growing so tired of them doing just enough to win over my wallet. It's tiresome when other companies are begging us with such good enhancements at the same price to take their products. Maybe nintendo can do this with mario. Maybe even donkey Kong. But pikman isn't a big enough ip to get away with this nonsense.
It’s a great game just wait for it to be cheaper. If you have a Wii u just play it in that
For everyone who says it great but wait for a sale... anyone whose been a nintendo fan long enough knows nintendo doesn't do sales more than 35% off.
Meanwhile need for speed remaster comes out day one at a reduced price. God forbid anyone say anything decent about EA though. They should burn in Hell. But Nintendo please take my monies.
@sixrings I completely agree. Mk8d added just enough for me to want to buy x2. I am not very good at DK, but love the character. So Chill Mode was enough to make me buy again. I wish Nintendo added more content here in the form of mini games or including the the first two, I would have been all over this...
Just picked it up along with the pre-order bonus. I'm mildly excited!
If it had Bingo Battle online I'd buy it
Might pick it down the line if the price is right. Nintendo made a big mistake by not including Pikmin 1 & 2 with it otherwise I wouldn't had mind the price.
I just ordered it online yesterday. I've got it on Wii U, but as with so many games I feel a desire to play on Switch that which I might have never put much time into on my Wii U. I still like my Wii U, and hook it up every few months, but I adore my Switch. I think I've played the Switch demo more than I played my digital copy on my Wii U. I do wish it had a 60fps mode, but the frame pacing seems to be about perfect like on Wii U, so using motion interpolation in docked mode makes it look smooth enough. I probably won't play Pikmin 3 in handheld because of the low frame rate. Anyways, it looks beautiful, runs steadily at 30fps, and has many awesome quality of life improvements, so I'm excited to play through it!
@60frames-please good work rewarding Nintendo and being part of the problem. Nintendo couldn't even have bothered to give you 60 frames despite how nicely you asked and despite this not even being Full HD. But what do I know. I think companies like capcom with remasters of resident evil 2/3 on the rival consoles are doing good service. Square with the remade final fantasy is good value. But hey we can at least play final fantasy seven ports on switch at discount and the same with resident evil/0/4 at discount. Nintendo is really treating it's customers with dignity allowing them the opportunity to buy their ports, at full price, to begin with. Thanks big N.
!!Claro que sim
Have it on WiiU with all the dlc, but I bought it on the Switch too now and I'm looking forward to play the story co-op with my kids.
I got it for free on the WiiU for buying Wind Waker. I booted it up on my old WiiU to play it and decided to play Wind Waker again.
YES! I will and am playing it. Love it, as never played a Pikmin game before
I have it on Wiiu, Ill just play it there
I had it on Wii U, so I may wait for a sale.
Had it on Wii u and sold it, now purchased on the switch, never played the dlc and added missions are a bonus too, plus got some preorder Goodies with it too.
Not happy with the price I admit but it's good to play pikmin on the go at least.
I can’t justify the 79.99 CAN price tag. I do love the franchise but with tax that comes to 90$.
I might pick up Jurassic world evolution instead, it’s slightly cheaper and looks to have more replay value.
I already paid full price once, and even though I love the game, I think I'll wait for a wee price drop.
Nope.
Not for me.
Have it on Wii U so no double dipping for me. I hope it sells well and Pikmin 4 will be on the way soon.
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will stay me from Pikmin 3 on Switch.
This is one of the greatest video games of all time and I will continue to rebuy it on every single platform it releases on from now until the end of time. But especially Switch, given its the first time on handheld, it’s hybrid, has the best control scheme and gobs of extra content and fixes.
If Nintendo just plopped 3 with nothing new I'd get the complaining but let's look at this tactfully.
Cons
Pros
This is hands down a must have. Quit nitpicking as an excuse to be cheap.
@Digitaldigdug far from cheap my friend. Four switches, a Lan party room, and some nintendo classic arcade cabinets would beg to differ. On another note I disagree that no graphics upgrade is a minor disappointment. I am primarily buying these "deluxe" games to play with the best graphics possible. The fact that they didn't manage to upgrade the graphics makes me wonder if this company is going to try and resell me a 1080p "deluxe deluxe" version in the future. Well now that I think about it. I am cheap. I don't want to buy pikman 3, three seperate times. Good for you for wanting to throw money at nintendo but with their business practices I'd consider throwing more money at their stocks than their games.
Love Nintendo, and have since I was 7, so 1987. But I am not a fan of their re-releases for full retail price. I understand their quality is amazing, but 60 for this? Nah brah
Got it on Wii U, there isn't enough added content in here to make it worth double dipping imo
@Doofenshmirtz
@Rpg-lover
GOOBLE gobble, GOOBLE gobble!! (Stamp, stamp, pound, pound.)
I finally joined you Pikmin freaks and I love it!
I just hope the Switch 2 is backwards compatible. Shouldn’t be hard with Switch Game Cards. (All the digital-only owners will cry though. No way Nintendo will allow transfers.)
@rockodoodle Yes, thank god for the indie releases this generation
@Nicolai and 3rd party support.... Tho many are also ports that I have not played
