I'm not wanting to play 3rd parties on my PS consoles if they come to the Switch 2 as well. I want to play them on the hybrid handheld. I have a choice of docked tv or handheld. Absolutely can't go back if I don't have to and the game isn't a complete mess (which Switch 2 horsepower should ensure hopefully they won't be).

Also I really think people are forgetting that third parties did pretty well on Switch 1. Why do you think the Switch 2 is getting the support it is?

Very strange set of comments considering it's only SEGA saying this with it's lack of upgrade pathways for good selling Switch 1 games.

They sold generally well enough on Switch 1, didn't they?

Only 256 GB micro sd express cards around. Need big GB micro sd EXPRESS cards to allow room for meaty Switch 2 software downloads via eShop AND keycards!

Backwards compatibility (so Switch 1 backlog can be played with a superior horsepower console)

The House of the Dead series is cool n'all but the first "remake" on the Switch was poor. Will have to be a big improvement

Would absolutely purchase it on Switch 2. Had no interest on the non-hybrid non-handheld console that I have at home admittedly

I've played this game on the 3DS and it is a good, good RPG. I'd recommend to anyone even with a passing interest in the genre and of course based on this review content (thank you NL for that).

There isn't enough at all for me to double dip from the 3DS version, mind you. So it's a pass from me. This one is my fav in the series of BD games because it had that pure refinement and new novelty factor at the time with the system.

I've tried it on numerous occasions. It's a neat alternative to the conventional racing modes of grand prix, knockout tour, versus etc. Half the P switch challenges are hard in a good way. I actually like going from one track section to another, a real sense of "a world". It could do with a bit of refinement, maybe with slightly more to do in some way, but then you don't want it too cluttered either. They had to do something different as "where do you go from 8 deluxe" comes to mind.

@Dhaladog So the order page had my 1tb express microSD card down as arrival by yesterday. I have been checking it regularly. It doesn't turn up. So I check the order page to see what's happening. It now says, "we'll email you when some are in stock". Poor from amazon uk. Promised me an arrival of an order "by" yesterday and then they do this?

A 9 for me. All modes either good or great. It does needs common sense & QoL refinements. Need more characters and more tracks for grand prix (DLC surely). We need to get its Mario Kart World and not Mario Kart 9

I am still happy with our PS4 (as our secondary console to Switch 2)

All modes together as a whole make the game feel and play stellar. Need to get away from thinking of MK like MK8DX and before. The series has evolved. Bit like open world Zelda did when BOTW came out. Many were getting hung up on the older dungeon style gameplay (which is absolutely superb in itself).

It's all superb as the 87%-90% average review score indicates. Even if slightly less in percentage than older MK. Still amazing. Enjoy.

The household are enjoying all modes. I agree with the score. It's a new foray into open world kart game, so inevitably it's going to be a smidgen unrefined whilst having some clever and interesting ideas at the same time. Like Zelda when BOTW came out, I felt its right that Nintendo needed to experiment with a new formula for the series. They have largely beennsuccessful here. Excited to play more and see where this formula goes further.

@Dhaladog I managed to get one from amazon uk. Early on after the Switch 2 announcement. I just checked regularly and daily. Ha. I hear you on memory space and pricing. Thank heaven I delayed my PS5 purchase despite having a total of 4 peopl in the household (including me) who would play it.

@Bizzyb I was actually able to find one from amazon uk quite early on after the Switch 2 was announced. I just kept on checking daily. Ha.

Looking forward to my 1TB Lexar Express microSD card arriving this weekend hopefully. Hoh boy.

Reads like something that harkens back to the days of the Wii. It's turned out okay performance wise at least but reads like it's awfully boring, sorry. Even for kids. LOL.

It's a shame as it is apparently part of a decent series?

One for a bargain purchase then. It still reads great. Shame it was rushed. Maybe they'll patch it. They don't want it to stand out negatively in frame rate where other ports are and will suceed, surely?

It's a good upgrade. Some of the complaints here are more to do with ones you have with a new product. It's the same "upgrade" we've got with the PSBOX consoles in a way and on this occassion. The battery life is a bit of an issue. I do yse it in hybrid handheld moreso

@croz That's true actually. I think that is what I said around the time BOTW was released. It was time for a change.

A true all time great video game. I feel gratitude for playing all the Zeldas. No grumpy politics here. No using one Zelda game as a stick to beat another. I think the open world Zeldas have it as my favourites but I could easily replay more "traditional" Zeldas tomorrow.

Really looking forward to given totk "NS2" a spin again. I have more to polish off. Obviously done the A to B completion but that just one way to play this stellar game (like with BOTW).

Cheers for the review and it is as I expected. Just like with PP Tetris 2S, the NS2 has the definitive version of the game. But neither of the games are worth downloading on the NS2 if you have the NS1 (and the NS2 is backwards compatible even). Good games made by SEGA but poorly played by them here.

So most people who would want to buy this already have a console or 2 related to this already. I truly admire your financial might! 🤯

What a game. One of the greatest of all time. Got a deserved 96% on metacritic average from loadsa reviews. So hard to follow on from the other all time greats Ocarina and Majora's Mask but did an immense job. Sure, the definitive version is on the WiiUHD but having the GC version on the hybrid handheld is a dream

The Puyo Puyo Tetris series on the Switch is good and this review makes this game (if you don't already have the Switch 1 game) the best way to experience that series. Let's start with something positive and not miserable for once on the internet 😅

BUT - the cons have it. It 100% doesn't seem worth it to buy if you already have the Switch 1 version. Like Sonic x Shadows generations, no upgrade path is offered. This does not make SEGA look good at all. Fair play in producing very good video games but, come on....

I mean if I knew both were to come out on the Switch 2, I would have probably not bought the Switch 1 versions

I adored this game. I have the physical knocking around somewhere in tbe depths of the shelving. They're both decent by I think NA/Europe has it on this one marginally. The clever use of multiple characters in background and larger villain characters enlarged but slightly faded out actually fits in well.

I use my console for gaming.

I honestly played a variety of games including World to a total of 4 hours and it was on 11% by the time I finally decided to charge it.

I had drifting joycon issues with my early purchases on Switch1 but interestingly the later switch joycon releases didn't have a drift problem and lasted a lot longer. At least at time of writing. Fingers and toes crossed for Switch 2 joycons!

I actually have it downloaded on my New 3DS XL and its a good, good game. But double dip worthy? Not so sure. Even with "extras" and Switch 2 horsepower visual upgrades. Doesn't necessarily add to that interesting gameplay.
