Re: Zelda: BOTW Switch 2 Edition Won't Include The DLC, Nintendo Confirms

@Stwert You're right that there are 120GB games on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, but that's kind of irrelevant in my opinion. Instead you should look at PS4 or Xbox One games since those are pretty close comparison to Switch 2. Most of the PS4 games fitted into the 50GB Blu-Ray, so I don't think 64GB cards are going to be a huge concern on Switch 2 (especially with that hardware compression).

It's easy to forget that Spider-Man on PS4 was 45GB. Ghost of Tsushima was 50GB before updates/DLC. Kingdom Hearts III was 40GB. Sure, there were also plenty of games that were more than 64GB, but 64GB is still plenty for a lot of games.

@Toastmaster "They won't, because Bergsala is the reason why NES were sold outside Japan in 1985."

I don't think that's entirely true. Far as I know, Nintendo already had plans to release Famicom outside of Japan when Bergsten talked to Nintendo about bringing a version of Famicom to their market. Yes, I'm sure they helped Nintendo see that there is interest in Nintendo products in the west, but I don't think Nintendo owes them anything.

Re: Switch 2 Game Cart Max Capacity Is 64GB, Says CD Projekt Red

@mlt Elden Ring is 45GB on PS4 (probably without DLC), so 64GB card would be enough for it. They chose not to use it and went with Game Key card, but it would've fitted just fine.

I think people are used to PS5 games and their gigantic filesizes and have forgotten that PS4 games (which would be the closest comparison point to Switch 2 games) were much smaller, often fitting into the 50GB Blu-Ray.

@Oracles_fanboi You really need to fact check some of your points.

  • Nintendo has most cash holdings, but in terms of company value, they are far, far behind companies like Toyota and Sony.
  • Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom do have new content, as demonstrated on the Direct. Besides, the upgrade is only 10€ (far as I know) for those who already own them.
  • I really need a source on your point that NSO is their main source of income. Sure, they have over 34 million subscribers, but most of those only pay 20€/year. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold over 67 million copies, Animal Crossing has sold over 47 million and Smash Bros. has sold over 35 million copies as well. All of those are 60€ games, and those are just the best selling ones.

Re: Hands On: I Didn't Think I Could Love BOTW Or TOTK More, Then I Played Them On Switch 2

@digitalspade To be fair, there are also free upgrades. If Nintendo (or some other developer) spends time developing new content and upgrading the game (not just increasing the resolution), then I think it's fair for the upgrade to cost some money.

That said, the new features in BotW and TotK aren't really something that I care about. The visual upgrade is massive, though, so I'll likely upgrade anyway.
