@dew12333 They patch it because they can, a luxury that wasn't possible a few generations ago. The thing is, even those retro games that we all know and love had plenty of glitches and all kinds of little oversights. Speedrunners have discovered a ton of them even on the most stable games out there.
I personally found it quite funny, as it was so unexpected. I didn't die, but came very close. Anyway, it's possible to dash to safety even after sitting down, but you have to be fast. The bench sign is also unique so there kind of is a way to tell that it's a trap.
Value is a very subjective thing. If a game is something special, I'm fine paying 20€ for a game that only lasts 5 hours or less. Developers should set a price point that they themselves would find fair for what they're offering.
It does look promising, but the character movement looks super jerky in the trailer. Game feel is super important in any game, especially difficult games, so I'm kind of worried about it.
I hope they'll add 3DS games to the NSO some day. Yes, there would be challenges (like the touch screen controls when docked etc), but there are so many amazing games stuck on 3DS.
A huge missed opportunity to not release a Switch 2 demo at the same time. The Switch 1 version is kind of ugly and doesn't run well even on Switch 2. Sure, you can't expect too much from Switch 1, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is so, so, so much better looking than this. Gameplay seems fine, though. Nothing groundbreaking, but a decent arcade racer.
@Rebusmind I think people should voice their opinion that they want 60fps games, so that maybe some developers will hear that and make it happen. That said, FF VII remake is a 30fps game on PS4 (and a beautiful game too), so I'd never expect it to run 60fps on Switch 2 unless they remade the whole game with major sacrifices to the visuals.
@BaldB3lper78 This upgrade has actual new content, though. Ideally, the resolution/framerate improvements should be free and the new content paid (if necessary), but this upgrade pack seems pretty good overall.
@HaNks How exactly do you know that? Sega did receive dev kits to make Yakuza 0, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S and Sonic × Shadow Generations. The fact that they decided to prioritize those three releases over Sonic Racing is on Sega first and foremost.
If a game can't reach 60fps, then locking it to 30fps is a good call. They did the right thing. That said, I do wish they would add a 40fps mode if possible.
I seriously doubt that they would delay a game by over two months because another game in a completely different genre is releasing. More likely that they just needed more time to finish the game but don't want to admit it for some reason.
Edit: Now, it's true that October is very packed with games, but late September would've been completely fine.
@DTFaux To be fair, Yooka-Laylee is a 30€/$30 game, often on sale for a lot less (currently on sale for 6€ on Steam for example), so having to pay $50 for a physical version of this doesn't exactly seem like a great deal. Sure, the game is remastered, but I'm not sure if it's changed enough to be worth it.
@Paulo Elden Ring runs quite badly on all platforms, so I wouldn't lose hope yet. Besides, developers haven't necessarily had that much time with the development kits either.
@johnedwin FF7 and Elden Ring were 30fps on PS4, so yeah, obviously Switch 2 will run them 30fps as well. Especially since we're talking about a two month old console, so developers haven't had time to learn all the tricks for optimization yet.
@gojiguy Well, yeah, these things are always 100% subjective. In my opinion leverless is the best way to play (fighting games and 2D games), but some people may disagree. Anyway, I've seen a lot of people who are super vocal about arcade sticks, so it's not like only those people who are using leverless controllers like to make their opinion heard.
Leverless controllers are great for 2D platformers and other 2D games as well. I've pretty much abandoned traditional controllers when playing 2D games, as the D-pad doesn't offer the precision and speed offered by separate direction buttons. It takes some time getting used to, but feels great when it clicks.
Roadwarden is a pretty good game, but other than that, not many interesting titles. As usual, for every decent game, there's 10 asset flips, AI storybooks or games that aren't even games (there have been some random drone video compilations recently).
@EriXz The original was dirt cheap, as it was only 15€ for such a massive and polished game. I will feel guilty if I don't get to pay at least 20€ for Silksong.
@Friendly I've played a ton of indies and agree that there are a lot of amazing games. But that doesn't change the fact that Hollow Knight is one of my favourite games ever. I'd suggest you just let people be excited about a game.
@AndreyBoarao What? The art style is amazing. Gameplay looks pretty good too. The only potential pitfall is Bubsy himself with the voice acting/humour that is traditional for the series.
I find it bizarre how the credit for so many games are going to the publisher first and foremost (they're the ones who are mentioned in the title). Why isn't the developer, Furcula, mentioned in the title? I notice the same phenomenon often with games published by Devolver Digital as well.
@Vyacheslav333 They released Emio not that long ago, so it's not like they haven't done that recently. And of course they've published plenty of mature third party games like Bayonetta 3 as well. Even the less succesful Wii U got some, like Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
@Xansies Yeah, playing Mario Kart looks fine, but the ghosting is quite obvious in 2D games. Mina the Hollower, while smooth in 120fps mode, doesn't look as good as it should because of that. The improved motion clarity is one of the main reasons I enjoy 120fps games a lot.
But, again, it really does look great on a decent TV. And the game itself seems awesome in general.
@Vyacheslav333 It makes a lot of sense since the backgrounds are scrolling smoothly when moving. You won't see a difference in character animations etc, but the higher framerate really makes those backgrounds sharper in motion (except on Switch 2's own screen).

Re: Opinion: Resident Evil Requiem Represents A Turning Point For Switch 2
Star Wars Outlaws looks quite impressive as well. I've been playing Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 and that is also a very good port.
Re: The Touryst: Deluxe Hits Switch 2 Next Week At 4K / 60fps
@Sylamp They can just make the Switch 2 upgrade pack be 5€ and that's it. Should work with physical games as well.
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Switch Comparison Video Makes Nintendo's Upgrades Clearer
@DwaynesGames Link's Awakening (2019) is amazing and worth every penny. I have zero regrets getting that and neither should anyone else.

I do want to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 as I have never played it.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
Gotta say, open world is the one thing that I don't want to see in a Metroid game. Kind of worried to be honest, but I'll still be playing this.
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
If you could play the games on TV, then sure, count me in! But apparently you need to get that accessory to play...

Nope. Difficult for sure, but fair.

Huh, that's actually far better looking than I expected.
Re: Latest Switch Online Release Potentially Confirms Leaked Upcoming N64 Classics
But Forsaken is in the Mature app unlike the other games, so this doesn't even make any sense.
Re: Rumour: Resident Evil Requiem Could Be Heading To The Switch 2
I think we should expect to see RE2 & RE3 Remakes on Switch 2, but Requiem? Hard to imagine it working well.

@LeChuck All of the DLC for Hollow Knight was free, and I doubt they would do anything different with Silksong.

@DangerZone $20 USD doesn't equal 20€ either, but here we are.

Inspired by cartoons, not Cuphead. Cartoons from different time period as well, judging by the grayscale look.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
Nah, I'm not interested, even with the reasonable price.
Re: Mina The Hollower On Switch 2 Supports 120fps
@Xansies Yeah, playing Mario Kart looks fine, but the ghosting is quite obvious in 2D games. Mina the Hollower, while smooth in 120fps mode, doesn't look as good as it should because of that. The improved motion clarity is one of the main reasons I enjoy 120fps games a lot.
But, again, it really does look great on a decent TV. And the game itself seems awesome in general.

The difference is barely noticeable when playing in handheld mode, but quite obvious on my TV. The motion clarity is much improved.
