Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is Ruined

Koda1000

When I buy physical games I appreciate it when the cover can be used as a beautiful piece of artwork that I can set on a shelf and look at. Considering that we would be paying more money for the S2 version, I would definitely feel very annoyed by all the text, QR code and over abundance of the color red.

Re: Nintendo Is (Kinda) Returning To Region-Locking With A Cheaper Japanese Switch 2

Koda1000

If you don’t have a Japanese bank card you won’t be able to purchase from Nintendo’s Japanese My Nintendo Store. Also Nintendo recently removed foreign bank cards from being able to purchase from the Japanese eShop. With Switch 1 your only options are import websites and eShop Prepaid Online Codes (eShop gift cards) from Amazon Japan. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo shut down eShop gift cards too, and made registration of the Japanese model tied to a Japanese bank card as well.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Koda1000

All of it is too expensive, and Nintendo games never go on sale. I absolutely won’t be buying until three years in. By then maybe new prices will drop and second hand prices will have dropped further. I have over 10 Switch games to play yet, generally it takes me a good 6 months to a year for a large game.

Re: Nintendo Shares New Image Of Switch 2 Ahead Of The Big Day

Koda1000

@Automated_Unit_4937 With Nintendo’s Today! app, Nintendo may be positioning themselves to completely pull out of X, BlueSky and all others. Makes sense as they won’t have to pay X for the checkmark and Nintendo will have full control over their media coverage. A more DIRECT mode of engagement for their fans. We don’t need FB, X, BS; at least I don’t. It’s all drama. I do like the mature look but I also hope Nintendo comes out with some nicely colored button variations of this console.

Re: 'My Nintendo' App Icon Spotted, But Will It Come To The West?

Koda1000

Ok, why aren’t all the Nintendo apps rolled into one. My Nintendo, Nintendo Music, Nintendo Today!, Nintendo Family Management. Wow!

Additionally, I thought about getting the Nintendo Today! app, but at sign-in my iPhone pops up a message saying that DEEPEN wants permission to access my Nintendo Account information. Who is Deepen? Considering that all my digital games are tied to this account, I do not feel comfortable using an app where Nintendo decides to use a third party for login. No thanks.

Re: Talking Point: Which Switch Game Needs A 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' The Most?

Koda1000

This is all disappointing news to me. You see, I was hoping that all Switch games would get a boost from the new hardware. Reason being that hacked Switch’s whose clock speeds have been increased, usually see an improvement in frame rate. Not only that, but the new hardware is rumored to have upscaling tech, which can hopefully upscale sub 720p games to 1080p or higher.

Considering that most Switch games, docked, already increased their clock speeds for an increased resolution to 1080p compared to running the same game in handheld form, why couldn’t the Switch 2 do this for Switch games while in handheld form? Here is an example: FF XII and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 run at 540p in handheld but when docked run at 1080p; additionally, the frame rate might go up. Now imagine that the Switch 2 could have a mode in which handheld Switch 1 games are ran as if they were docked. Every Switch 1 handheld game would get a free upgrade in resolution and possibly frame rate. Of course this means increased demand on the handheld system, but new chip technology should be able to do what was once a hot and power hungry task as a cool and battery efficient task.

The truth that a hacked Switch (both docked and handheld) with increased clocks and the truth that docked Switches with the default increased clocks, both improve resolution and sometimes frame rate, proves that the Switch 2 only needs to increase clocks and use upscaleing and maybe frame generation to improve every single Switch 1 game for free without any special editions or downloads.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?

Koda1000

Very poor. What need did it meet? None of these games interest me. Not many of these games are very high profile. Many came without release dates, so why bother. I was hoping for a lot more. I know Switch 2 is coming but there is no way I’m getting one until a year or three after release. Nintendo could still support the 100’s of millions of Switch owners with some Kirby, Zelda Oracle, Minish remakes, Fire Emblem, even Luigi’s Mansion 1.

Re: Best Wario Games Of All Time

Koda1000

All the Wario games are nice, all of them. But I don’t understand why they made so many micro games and not another Land type game, those were my favorite. Also, I don’t like what Wario became in these last 20 years, a farting man. He meant so much more to me in Land 1, 2, 3.

Re: Feature: Switch 2's Mouse Support Is Exciting, But Which Current Games Might Also Benefit?

Koda1000

I sit on a soft couch. I don’t find a table or desk fun to game at. What is this, the year 2008 when you had to use a wireless mouse with your laptop because the trackpad wasn’t great. I tell you, using a mouse on your pant leg, couch arm rest, or on a hard back book is not a delight. Why are we still comparing resistive vs capacitive touch screens? We have modern touch screens in which you can use a Bluetooth battery powered pen, a licensed Wacom battery free pen, or patent your own battery free pen tech. We also have gyro in both the console and controllers. I think mouse is trying to solve a niche problem that few games will use.

Re: Poll: So, What Did You Think Of The Switch 2 Reveal?

Koda1000

Mario Kart is completely played out as a series. Milked dry as the driest desert. We need a Resident Evil 4 type reinvigoration for the series. Mario Kart on switch is still selling and what on earth will persuade us to buy another MK so soon? Talk about franchise fatigue! I hope Nintendo still understands that it is novel and fun gameplay over graphics. Mario kart needs a BIG change or entire generation break.

Re: Poll: So, What Did You Think Of The Switch 2 Reveal?

Koda1000

Boring, bland, corporate funeral of a presentation, design and name. Simply somber, any fun felt forced and without any novelty or cheer. The leaks did not ruin the novelty or fun; it isn’t and wasn’t there (in the final and leaked design). Realistically the stand will break, and the joy-con rail chip will either snap off or foul up with time. Backwards compatibly is good, it helps persuade folks to upgrade but nothing shown persuades me to move on from my switch lite. Judging from the colors and design, this console is geared towards a mature crowd. And my guess is the price will be too high for what it does. So far the color and design just are not appealing to me at all. The ASUS ROG Ally is more appealing design and color wise. Lastly, the classic finger snap seems to be replaced with a clap. I don’t like it. These are my true thoughts and feelings, not rage bait.

Re: Round Up: 'Switch 2' Renders Suggest A Sleek, Classy Successor

Koda1000

I want colored thumb sticks, buttons, color on the case and joycons, a design. Something fun and stylish. As of now the renders look like a boring computer with controllers glued to the sides. Wouldn’t it be cool if a Zelda themed system actually glinted in places like gold accents. Or a Splatoon that had really raised textured splats! I would also like something that used the sandwich design of the original 3DS with the different colored plastic and clear plastic.

Re: Talking Point: Is The Switch 2 Going To Be Too Big?

Koda1000

Not only is it too big but possibly ugly as well. Nothing about a black tablet with black controllers and a black dock screams fun to play. I like the neon colors of the original switch and the special Pokémon sword shield Switch lite designs. Here’s hoping for a reasonably sized/weighted and beautifully designed system with attractive colors.

Re: Feature: 9 Things Nintendo Could Add To Switch 2 So It's Not 'Just Another Switch'

Koda1000

Considering that Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey both have 3D options, perhaps Switch 2 will have an advanced 3D screen allowing for compatibility and enhancement of some or all Switch 1 games to be viewed in 3D. As for 3DS games on NSO, I wonder if the second screen could float in 3D space above the primary screen. I wonder if this floating second screen could be activated by a button press or a type of glance a camera sees your eyes doing.
