Have you tried pal world? It's actually one of the best games I've played in a while, and it's still in early access.

It's qol is amazing compared to most other survival games I've played, and it's capture and exploration mechanics hit the nail on the head.

Maybe the pals look waaaay too close to pokemon, but the gameplay is actually tighter in most cases, and more clever, than pokemon.

If their monsters looked different, I suspect most people would see the gameplay for what it is, but it feels like a lot of people have missed out on the game because of their frustrations with its controversial monster styles.

Yeah. I'm a wave dash snob, so melee will always be my number 1. The mechanics just felt tighter to me, overall.

Smash run was the coolest mode to come out of any smash bros

Here's the thing. I've been playing it, and its quality of life is pretty solid.

You can get the pals to do the collecting for you. In some ways, it feels a little like an rts

I also buy digital music, TV, and movies. Generally, I do so through Amazon

The music has made me super nostalgic for my college days, but I can't figure out why

I've nearly filled up my 1.5TB micro sd, so I'm biased for more space.

That being said, if nintendo is going to make us have switch 2 for nearly a decade, more memory could only help.

Edit:

I originally started I had a 2 TB micro sd. It appears I was flat out wrong.

I suppose that means I still have storage hope, once 2 TB micro sds eventually come out.
(Sadly, I've heard that that's a high ad they'll be able to go, so I'm still a little nervous about storage)

I'm a massive DQM fan. I rarely care about the main games, but I've always prefered these monster catching games to pokemon. I absolutely love the fusing/breeding mechanic

I like reading spoilers.

I'm all for respecting game requests, though.

Still, often, I like to know what to expect before I walk fave first into something.

That kind of bothers me.

Some of the secret items are missing from later versions of mario 3. For those who played the original, it can feel incomplete, and utterly drives me crazy!

I'm intrigued. I can never quite find the right 3d farming sim (excluding craftopia, which is. . . Something else entirely).

Maybe I'll try this one.

Man, my friends would break into my dorm room back in the day to play soul calibur 2 when I wasn't there.

I often came back to my room to find gamer gatherings for that game.

Also worth mentioning, I feel, is when the mushroom kingdom crew showed up in a version of ssx snowboarding, or in a version of DDR.

I guess it works for others, but I've always hated gyro aiming when using a controller.

Sticks work just fine for me.

I loved the mechanics of the first game. They were thought.

I agree. A lot of pokemon-likes just don't do it for me (although I've always liked Dragon Quest Monster), but adding in roguelike mechanics makes me feel like this will add something kind of unique to the creature collecting mix.

I got a vive cosmos on its release, and although it got its act together, it's rocky start made it a less popular headset, so I know what it means to have to work around certain restrictions.

I seem to be in disagreement with nintendo life on this, as they've slipped over it twice on lists where it should probably show up, but my favorite is still Remnant: From the Ashes.

While it is better on pc (I've sunk nearly 500 hours into the pc one, hunting secrets or playing and replaying with friends), I've dumped a fair amount of time into the switch version as well.

If none of those games scratched your itch, I can't guarantee this one will, as my friends have been quite polarized on the game, but if you like experimenting with item builds as you "git gud," is definitely encourage it.

The sheer depth of the game is surprising, and doesn't truly become obvious until one has had some time with it.

Like I said, it's been polarizing in my friend group, so if you're not interested, I don't blame you, but if you're still searching for the right game to fill the itch, this might do it.

I'm 130 hours into Remnant 2, and I have further still to go.

A friend and I are halfway through a hardcore (1 life) veteran difficulty run.

Depends on the demographic.

A friend of mine and I would look up game secrets and cheat codes on a very early version of ign back then.

So, I mean, gamers used it.

Mario 3's all starts version, as well as its vc version took out some of the secrets.

An example of this is in a scrolling level on world 1 where the player could get a pwing of they got every coin in the level.

When I couldn't do it on these versions, I youtubed it, followed every step and coin (in case I'd forgotten something), and it still wasn't there.

Thus, mario 3 was better in its original nest form for its additional secrets.

It's insane how often that spelling mistake shows up. Game review sites and litrpg books make that mistake constantly.

Although I'm fine with these articles, something you said has stuck with me.

I'm s programmer, and it blows my mind how quickly people try to break programs that do them a service. They feel smart, for example, if they find a way to break that calculator/data gatherer/ search engine/etcetera, but if it was a shovel and they broke that on purpose, they'd just look like idiots.

Although the cutscene with link and zelda falling was fantastic, I didn't really get into the game until I had left the intro.

Sky islands don't generally appeal to me, and I've never liked the "baby's first playpen" play style of the first few hours of botw or totk.

Once I was back in Hyrule's mainland, it became the zelda I wanted and expected.
And. It. Was. Glorious.

Holy crap.

They're both good! I've never had trouble choosing one of these before, but with this, I can't decide!
