Re: Nintendo's Patent On 'Sub Characters' Could Have Some Dire Ramifications

@AG_Awesome

That's kind of been the point of the whole Pal World lawsuit. Most of what they've done that nintendo's suing for weren't even things that nintendo created. They just patented those things first.

And the Pal World developers have supposedly used that as part of their defense.

How the lawsuit turns out could have stood ramifications for gaming.

I would've picked it up, as 1080 on the n64 was awesome, BUT gamecube also had access to ssx.

As great as 1080 was, ssx was extraordinary.

Still, it's too bad nintendo won't continue 1080, given that ea gave up on ssx after their bizarre "gritty reboot" of a snowboarding game back in the early 2010s.

If you're looking for clever and complicated story beats, I still feel that Ogre Battle 64 carries it's weight.

It's been a couple of decades since I last played it, so I may be remembering it with rose colored glasses, but I deeply suspect that it still holds up.

Unicorn overlord pulls a lot of its gameplay mechanics from Ogre Battle.
