Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

@Ryu_Niiyama

I don't really think it's about the payday. I think it's about legally forcing nintendo to stop producing technology with a known defect.

Instead, they repair them, which works for now, but more importantly than being a hassle for the end user, it means that someday when they discontinue joy con repair services, people won't be able to use the product that they may have spent thousands on in total. (My 1 terabyte micro sd can't hold all of my games. It's be a shame if I just couldn't play them one day).

This is always a curiosity.

Coding skill doesn't always imply game design. They could be very capable and do something amazing, but while they may be brilliant, they may not be creative, or have the right understanding about how to train a player in the game, through the game, on how to take on more complicated parts of the game.

Maybe they have no graphical skills or musical skills. Then they'd have to use purchased assets, and while the game might be great, many players would pass it up because "it's an asset flip. "

There's a massive journey from good programmer to good game creator. Our from good creator to someone who can convince others to give a game the time of day.

Darn it! From the title, I was really hoping "Garden of Pets," was a farming sim/caretaker sim where I had to GROW my pets, then take care of them.

Edit:
Gunscape -might- have potential.

This list is so long. Ifeel like there's more coming out this week than usual.
It's hard to get through all the synopses to see what's interesting.

Re: Sting's Wii Party RPG 'Dokapon Kingdom' Is Coming To Switch

@ComfyAko

Dokapon kingdom is the greatest "hate your friends" game, ever.

Wrapped inside that "for kids" exterior is a board game rpg with incredible depth and that spans 7 continents and heaven and hell.

All the while, you and 3 other players/ais go out of your way to screw each other over and slow down one another's progress.

Several classes, multiple cave mini maps, and plenty of random events. . .

This game was epic.

@KateGray

While -I- agree with your sentiment, I think nintendolife shared a link several years ago which surveyed everyone's favorite pokemon.

There were 12 pokemon that came up as being the favorite of nobody.

While there were probably a couple on the list, I don't recall them all being fish.

So, sadly, I think many of the fish pokemon are someone's favorite (heaven help them). Still, I agree. Remorroid is utterly uninteresting and needs to leave me alone when I'm out in the water!

Edit notes: accidentally called you guys "Nintendo Power," for a sec (I am SO sorry. . . But i do miss that magazine).

I'm so tired of assassin's creed. It feels (to me) like the games have no point, anymore.

I was also very grumpy when they forced us to deal with their online account based stuff.

They canceled the snow boarding game I wanted to try and haven't put out a Prince of Persia in ages.

In short, they annoy me, and fail to bring things to the table that I care about, anymore.

@Sequel

They're still one of my favorite genres, but I get it. A lot of people have expressed a similar burnout.

Growing up with 80s and 90s brutal arcade-esque games, I think I'll always appreciate that unlike there, where I would repay the same damn level over and over just to gain a little ground, in a roguelike I often get a similar difficulty, but with some difference from round to round.

Why does no one ever ask that question when a game is needlessly a game where one plays as anthropomorphised cat people.

There are many on switch, and not once have I heard something like, "Why would you play this zelda inspired game over zelda, itself?"

Instead it's always, "Oooh, you can play as adorable cat people."

Just like how a lot of people like games that paste cat people on top to make a quick buck, some people like games that paste sexuality on top, often for a quick buck as well.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Scarlet And Violet?

Kiwi_Unlimited

@Jayvir

To further confirm why I have it as a 9, a patch just went through for the game.

I'm not saying the patch has anything to do with my score, but it helps outline my coming point.

Everybody else is saying the game runs better, and while I've downloaded it, I haven't noticed any improvements.

To my perception, the game still plays the way it did when I started.

If i didn't/ couldn't/ hadn't noticed the glitchiness, then all that's left to review is the gameplay and fun.

For me it was, and still is, a 9.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Is The Most Friction-Free Pokémon Yet

Kiwi_Unlimited

@Funneefox

I'm kind of the opposite.

Much like Skyrim, the glitches on first release are numerous, but none of them have negatively impacted the gameplay for me.

The journey isn't interrupted, the exploration is interesting to me, terrastalizing is so much more interesting than "watch as i make my pokemon larger for what feels like the umpteenth game," and I can breed pokemon more easily than ever.

I'm not saying you're wrong. The problems bother a lot of people, but if there are other people like myself and my friends who are playing this out there, then it makes perfect sense to me.

The only pokemon game I've felt is better than this one is Arceus.

So for some of us, this truly is a revelation when it comes to pokemon games.

Re: Feature: 14 Things That Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Get Absolutely Right

Kiwi_Unlimited

Of course it's not all jank and bugs.

I could ONLY name two of my pokemon that. Otherwise the lineup would start to get confusing.

Edit:

Also, you're spot on with the trainers being more chillaxed. I spent probably the first 20 hours positioning myself behind/above/out of view of trainers -INSTINCTIVELY- because of the older games pounding that into me.

It took forever to get comfortable with just walking right past trainers!

Re: Soapbox: How To Improve Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's Open World

Kiwi_Unlimited

@Mr_Gamecube

I utterly disagree.
Since pokemon blue I've dreamed of an open world. If you and I go down the same gated path, we have the same pokemon at the same time, fight the same gym battles, have the exact same experiences. . .

Suddenly my friends' stories are completely uninteresting and I don't want to duel them Neenah we have the same 'mon.

Pokemon is the one game that absolutely should've been open world from the beginning. Otherwise, the pokemon catching experience is kind of pointless.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Scarlet And Violet?

Kiwi_Unlimited

@Jayvir

Just to be clear, I gave it a 9.
Mostly, because it's the second most fun I've had with a pokemon game, and I love the freedom of movement in this game.

Critically, I should probably worry and focus on the glitches, but honestly, I've been enjoying myself too much too care.

The real point of my rating is that this pokemon has been immensely, personally satisfying.
I was pretty close to done with the series after playing sword and shield.

Arceus and this have convinced me to keep coming back.

Edit:
That being said, the more technical glitch detailing I read about the game, the more I can totally understand others rating it lower.
I don't know if I've been hyper focused on something else in the game, but I've mostly been unbothered by, or haven't noticed, it. Still, given that the sheer number of issues has been breaking immersion and causing problems for others, it's easy to see why the rating is lower on the whole.
