Re: Switch Hardware Sales Now Over 125 Million, PS2, Nintendo DS Target Still A Way Off

@Jalex__64

I'm a Nintendo fanboy, so I'm biased, but before the switch came out, several developers were saying that "the new Nintendo system was really cool" and had them excited. If the developers are excited for a system, I believe it has real potential. People want to make games for it, and thus, it'll be the place to play the games people want to make.

So I thought it had strong potential. . . also, I didn't realize just how many systems PS4 had sold (fan boy).

It's a great as ever, but I wish for 2 things:

1st: let me skip the co power animations. Sonia's takes forever.

2nd: I think I would've preferred one of the original games bundled with the post apocalypse one for a change of pace. That was such a neat transition for the series (before that, it felt like the new selling point of each game was "an even bigger tank!")

@Shambo

To be honest, I've never gotten into gyro controls, so this isn't a killer for me, but thank you for the update!

I can't wait for more remnant.

Rem 2 just released a new trailer with the dog included (no idea if it's still "Very Good Boy"). It's pretty awww-inspiring.

I am so excited to finally, FINALLY have Remnant From the Ashes on switch.

It's been my favorite game in the last 5 years!

(Also, I'm super excited for Remnant 2 in general, as it's been announced to release on something this year).

But until I'm back on my pc playing Remnant 2, I'll be waging war against the root in From the Ashes one more time in handheld!

Edit: I know the game isn't 5 years old, I'm just saying that looking back over the last 5 years, this is the one I've sunk the most time in

Re: Random: Reggie Burns E3 With Miiverse Comparison

I still can't believe that nobody in the big 3 wants to be a part of it.

A chance for all the systems to strut their stiff always seemed more fun to me then random nintendo directs.

There was a magic to the mass group announcement where everyone was excited for quite a while after from all the announcements and reveals.

No system ever felt left out in the cold and announcements were huge.

Announcements these days never feel huge.

That only works so well, because companies often don't understand why their stuff isn't being purchased.

This kind of stuff often gets chocked up to, "The west isn't interested in this game style," not "The contributing factor here is that we failed to include an English dub."

It's like how netflix cancels most shows after one season, starts to lose money, and decides that the solution is to put in stricter restrictions on account sharing.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero, Coming Later This Year

@Bret

Personally, jumping to said conclusion seems like a stretch since pokemon tends not to headline new systems, but I think their thinking falls along the lines of, "If pokemon company isn't putting out a new game this fall, it's so they have an incredible game to help sell the new system in the coming year."

But again, Pokemon doesn't tend to be the headliner of new nintendo systems.

@gameboy1975

You know, in programming we have a saying.

There are 2 kinds of languages: languages everyone complains about and languages nobody uses.

I don't own Xbox or Playstation, so of course I complain about Nintendo. They're great, but they're not perfect.

Tangentially, back to whining about Playstation, can you believe Playstation and the lawsuit against Microsoft's acquisition of Blizzard/Activision?

Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

@Ryu_Niiyama

Are those percentages for real? Are they based on all time or recent controller trends?

Perhaps i'm jaded because I've owned a switch from the beginning, but 5 of the 7 pairs of joycons I own have at least one controller with drift. It could also be that many of those are older models(?). I suppose, the white oled ones I got with the oled model continue to do just fine.

I don't want to figure out how to get in contact with nintendo for repairs, as beauracracy is usually more hassle than it's worth, so I just buy new. I can afford to. But I have so little faith in their controllers currently that I won't buy a switchlite ever.

The truth is, one used to be able to trust nintendo products to last, but that was also true of so many other things back in the day.

Anyway, if they're producing better joycons now, and I've just had bad experiences, I can chock that up to statistical anomaly, bit I understand the frustration.

Still, I love nintendo forever.

Edit:

Lol, now I'm getting drift on the white oled joycons.

shrugs What can you do?
