I didn't see your comment before posting mine, but I agree completely. So many fans, myself included, want the Legend games and Anniversary ported over before the survivor trilogy that can be played early everywhere.
I've already played this arguably great game on multiple systems, multiple times.
My biggest issue is the publisher shadow dropped a port of the first game in the survivor trilogy when I and a lot of other fans want the remake/remastered versions of the Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary/Underworld games. The pinnacle of the franchise for me.
This just leads me to believe we won't get one or it will be a long time before we do. Even then, will they be lazy ports or actually updated versions.
oh how I wish we'd get a remaster of the Legend trilogy. They're my favorite Tomb Raider games and at this point I'll just take ports of the originals.
I purchased Wolfenstein 2 on the original Switch to play while on a trip to family out of state. I regretted the purchase immediately, it looks horrible on Switch.
I just received my Satisfye Grip and slim case yesterday. The grip is as expected but with the added benefit of being able to remain on when docked which is nice.
The slim case I don't like. For a slim case it's huge, it feels less sturdy than the original cases for the Switch 1 and they swapped out the nice textured material for cheap faux leather.
I'm hoping Satisfye releases another elite/pro case with storage options. If it ends up being much bigger than their slim case I'll just get another one of the cases I use for my Steam Deck. It's smaller and fits the console in the grip and has storage options.
Bad performance in a game like Hot Shots Golf is inexcusable. In no way should it be taxing the Switch 2 or the Switch 1 for that matter.
I'll wait to see if patches fix things up before I make a purchase decision. I love the series and would much rather play on the go. If not, I'll stick with Everybody's Golf on PS4/PS5 and the mobile port of Clap Hanz Golf/Easy Come Easy Golf on Switch/Switch 2.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it just re-released as is on Nintendo Switch Online. They already took the easy way out doing that to Wind Waker instead of porting the updated Wii U version. They'll likely do the same with Twilight Princess. 😑
That really annoys me. I always expected that to be the case, Nintendo needs to sell their online service somehow. Still don't like it.
I guess I can still just play them all on my Steam Deck but it's not ideal.
I'm not a big fan of LEGO games, but I just finished a replay of the Arkham trilogy and seeing the new Batman LEGO game take some inspiration from them actually has me a bit excited for it.
I would love to see the entire franchise on Switch 2, but I won't get my hopes up.
I agree about Unity though, it's one of my favorites in the series. I'm currently replaying it on the steam deck and having it on the go is a great feeling.
Hey fellow GameFly user. I've had the same concern.
I purchased a DS game brand new from Amazon years ago that I found out was a bootleg cart when I tried to play it in my 3DS about a year later. It turns out I actually bought it from a 3rd party seller and not Amazon themselves.
I still don't like how Amazon is basically eBay now, but it was the first bootleg I've ever inadvertently purchased.
My point is, we can buy used games, keep games from GameFly, or buy supposedly new games just to have them end up bricking our Switch 2's because we have no clue if they're legit copies or not.
Makes renting and buying used a sketchy and worrisome matter. Best case scenario is we keep our receipts both digital and the ones that come in our cases if we keep games.
I guess we could show our rental history to show we rented the game but Nintendo may look at that and say we're SoL because they didn't get paid for it.
That is an improvement for sure, but I still wish things would just be on the card when space is available. It's still better than digital only I guess.
While I'm not a fan of the stiff (original) Nintendo era animations, the rest of the game looks great.
I'm glad to see it's a new Metroidvania closer to the classis style and not the souls influenced or roguelite/like styles that have become so popular these days.
To this day I just wish we could get a truthful answer on why SotN has never been on a Nintendo platform when it's been on everything else, including mobile.
I can only assume some nefarious backdoor deal that will forever be in place. Who knows? 🤷♂️
I have the LoS games on Steam Deck but I'd love them on Switch as well. I personally feel the original LoS is a masterpiece of the franchise with amazing storytelling and great gameplay. Reminiscent of Castlevania in the linear sense prior to SotN.
I agree with the criticisms of the other two games but they're far from terrible.
Good, deservedly so to. Stop phoning in these movies thinking fans of the games will eat them up. Lose money like this enough and maybe, just maybe movie studios will learn to not phone in these movies or not to make them at all.
I'd like to see what Retro Studios could do with Zelda. They're highly talented just by going with the Donkey Kong Country Returns games and Metroid Prime(s).
I just wish Nintendo would have traditional Zelda side by side with the new BotW/TotK style.
The best Zelda game that wasn't a Zelda game that I've played since Wind Waker/Twilight Princess was the original Darksiders. So it can be done because Darksiders was a great game with some great art design and lore.
As for top down Zelda, Capcom made some great ones with the Minish Cap and the Oracle games. Minish Cap is in my short list for favorite Zelda games.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say Donkey Kong 64 hasn't aged as well as Mario 64. I have issues with Mario 64 today and I'm sure they'd be worse for DK64. Although at the time I do feel DK64 received overly harsh criticism.
I have a strong feeling Metroid Prime 4 will have the BotW treatment. Meaning releasing on Switch 1 & Switch 2, perhaps on launch date of the Switch 2 not unlike BotW did on WiiU & Switch.

True, it just seems to be a trend I've noticed lately, demos releasing after a games launch.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Demo Now Available At Switch 2 Kiosks (US)
@Wewewi
If at all I expect some time after release sadly.

Re: Video: We've Played Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition On Switch 2 - Here's 18 Minutes Of Gameplay
It's a good game, I've played it multiple times on PS3/PS4, so if you've never played it then enjoy.
Although I would have preferred a shadow drop of the Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary/Underworld remaster I hope for on all systems.
Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade's File Size On Switch 2 Is Making Us Sweat
Makes me wonder how big Assassin's Creed Shadows will be.
I don't recall it's file size on the PS5, but it will likely be around the 100GB mark when compared to both AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla's file size.
They push about 100GB, 120+ with the DLC's.
Re: It's Official, Assassin's Creed Shadows Comes To Switch 2 In December With Cross-Progression
I was enjoying Shadows on PS5 but stopped playing around 30 hours in. I haven't gone back, but I've spent very little time gaming since then.
I'd love to see AC Unity, Origins, and Odyssey on Switch 2 as well.

Re: Wolfenstein II Gets A New Physical Edition For Switch Full Of Tat

Wolfenstein 2009 is my personal favorite in the series, but I agree, I much prefer the occult setting to the setting Machine Games went with.

Some people may even double dip during sales to have both a physical and digital copy of a game. I've done so myself.
Re: Review: Everybody's Golf Hot Shots (Switch) - Silly, Satisfying, But Hampered By Patchy Performance & Presentation

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
The open world looks boring and bland going off the trailer. Plus, a desert setting is about as boring as it can get.
I'd have preferred larger open areas interconnected to each other instead. Along the lines of the Tomb Raider games or newest God of War games.
Who knows, maybe that is what they're doing and the desert area is one of many larger areas making it feel open world.
I guess we'll find out on December. So far I'm not too excited.

Re: Best Pixel Art Nintendo Switch Games
@_xXharmless_yigaXx_
That is the level of pixel art I love the most.
Re: Best Pixel Art Nintendo Switch Games
I would recommend adding Crossing Souls. I love it to death and it oozes 80s nostalgia.
It has that typical but oh so good 'group of friends going on an adventure' schtick and I'm all about that.
I still love pixel art, but I have my limits. I don't want anymore Atari level pixel art, I had enough of that as a kid.

Re: Borderlands 4 On Switch 2 Will "Mostly" Run At 30fps
@Mgalens
30 fps is what should be expected for AAA games on Switch, but a stable 30 fps should be the minimum.
I wouldn't get Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 anyway because it's clearly designed for the PS5 and XSX which are vastly more powerful than the Switch 2.
Re: Borderlands 4 On Switch 2 Will "Mostly" Run At 30fps
@DennisReynolds
I agree, I don't expect 60 fps for anything, as usual Nintendo tech is lagging behind, but I'll take it when I can get it.

I'd like to see that happen, but it's highly unlikely to work here in the US. Consumer rights are a joke.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online GameCube Game On Switch 2, Ranked
I 100% believed Nintendo was going to lock Wind Waker to NSO instead of porting the HD version.
I 100% believe Twilight Princess will get the same treatment.
I'm 100% annoyed by this.

Man-eater was a great game, I'd love another 3D ECCO game like on Dreamcast. SEGA can even have the Man-eater devs make the game.
Re: Community: The Results Are In - These Are Your Most (And Least) Wanted Switch 2 Games
@Yosher
I agree, it should be physical or digital, no in between.
Any company going the route of the key card just won't get my money.
Re: Community: The Results Are In - These Are Your Most (And Least) Wanted Switch 2 Games
Sad to see Split Fiction so low on this list.
It's also no surprise people are willing to pay for the welcome tour demo, no matter how few. It's why Nintendo gets away with what they do. 🙄
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Announces Removal Of Super Famicom Title
@Wisestfool
I forgot Mario Picross was on NSO. I loved regular Picross on the original GameBoy.
Re: Can You Name These Zelda: Majora's Mask Masks?
It's been so long since I've played, on the original release, but I'm happy with my 15/24 score.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Costs $60 On Switch
That's a hard pass now. I'll just play my WiiU copy on my Steam Deck instead.
Re: Some Of The "Original Developers" Are Working On Mario & Luigi: Brothership
That's good news! I have high hopes for this game. I e always preferred the M&L RPG's to Paper Mario and I'm so glad to see them return.
Now, how about proper Golden Sun Nintendo!

Re: We're Getting A Brand New 'Mario & Luigi' RPG This November
While this news is bittersweet, R.I.P. AlphaDream, I am so overjoyed to see the series return.
From what I e seen, it looks to keep the core gameplay and not deviate like the Paper Mario games have.
That being said, this looks amazing and what's even better is it's out in November!
This is the best gaming news of the year for me so far.

Mobile phone auto correct strikes again! 😁
I did, I'll fix it now.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say Donkey Kong 64 hasn't aged as well as Mario 64. I have issues with Mario 64 today and I'm sure they'd be worse for DK64. Although at the time I do feel DK64 received overly harsh criticism.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Swings Onto Switch Next Year
@Tyranexx
Donkey Kong 64 is not as bad as it's reputation would have one believe. I had nearly as much fun with it as I did Mario 64.
Of course some of the Kongs (edit) were far less fun to play as and my options were limited in those days.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Swings Onto Switch Next Year
@Toastmaster
They possibly just started work on the port, so that could be one reason.
Not to forget that Nintendo purposely holds releases to ensure they have something big to release somewhat regularly.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Swings Onto Switch Next Year
@neogyo
I'd love full remakes of the original trilogy, but they hold up today and are still my top 3 favorite platformers ever.

Likely full price too.
