Re: Talking Point: The Problem With The X Button

Kang81

@CactusMan

Yeah, considering Nintendo has held on this long, I expect to see pigs fly before it changes. Haha

Oh well, I'll just continue spending the first 30 minutes or so of gaming screwing up all my menus when going from the Switch to other consoles and back again.

Re: Talking Point: The Problem With The X Button

Kang81

Quite frankly, I dont care any.ore I intended invented the layout. Every other controller out there using the modern standard and Nintendo just sticks with their own.

I just want a universal layout for everything, and throughout all my years playing games, I dont want Nintendo's layout as the standard.

Re: Bethesda Will Make "Some" New Titles Exclusive To Xbox And PC

Kang81

I knew this from the start, Microsoft wouldn't spend all that money to not take advantage of it.

I hate this though. Even if I usually get all 3 consoles...eventually.

My guess is that "some" of the Bethesda titles means the most popular. By that I fully expect the Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Doom franchises to become Xbox/PC exclusives.

All I care about is not making Arkane's games exclusively for Microsoft. Arkane is one of my favorite developers, I want everyone to enjoy their games.

Re: Sega Wants To Know How It Can 'Enhance Your Gaming Experiences'

Step 1: Bring back Skies of Arcadia, or as mentioned above, at least port it to Switch. Preferably the Legends version.

Step 2: Bring back Ecco the Dolphin. In fact, hire Tripwire Interactive, the developers of the incredibly fun Maneater to develop a new 3D Ecco.

Step 3: See steps 1 & 2

Step 4: Make me happy by following steps 1-3

Re: Feature: Why Zelda: Link’s Awakening Is Literally My Dream Game

Kang81

Links Awakening was not only my first real stab at playing a Zelda game, it was my first step towards gaming.

I had friends with the NES, and I had played Mario Bros. and bits of the original Zelda, but I wasn't really into gaming. I spent all my time outdoors as a kid.

Fast forward to a few years after the Gameboy was released, and I was gifted one with a copy of Links Awakening. I loved it!

I still didn't get into gaming in any real way until the N64 and OoT.

@TheFrenchiestFry

If I recall correctly, Respawn doesn't use Frostbite. Fallen Order was either Unreal Engine (most likely) or the Source Engine like Respawn used on both TitanFall games and currently uses on Apex Legends.

I dont know why it has seemed Bioware was forced to use Frostbite while Respawn wasn't. Or so behind the scenes reports claim.

Perhaps Anthem and ME Andromeda wouldn't have had such problematic development if Bioware was able to use something other than Frostbite, which according to many articles I've read, is a major pain in the A** to develop on.

Re: Platinum Seems To Have Explained Why It's So Quiet About Bayonetta 3

Kang81

@Wargoose

Yeah, I definitely see your side as well. That's how I used to be. It's just so many games get announced now, and it's 3 or more years before they get released.

It's partly my fault. I read a lot of gaming news blogs and websites, and sometimes I read so much about a game I'm excited for that by the time it comes out, I'm no longer interested because it took too long.

Re: Get Ready For More Remasters From Activision Blizzard In 2021

Kang81

It'll never happen, but I'd love a remaster of both of Raven Software's excellent shooters.

Wolfenstein (2009)
I much preferred the occult Nazi's to Machine Game's tech Nazi's. It's still my personal favorite Wolfenstein game, and sadly, you can't buy it on any platform digitally.

Singularity
Another excellent shooter from Raven, and one with some nice Bioshock vibes to it.

As others have already mentioned...Blur.

Seriously, Blur is the love child of Mario Kart and Burnout, how it didn't become a massive success is beyond me.

Re: Feature: 6 Huge Video Game Franchises Missing From Nintendo Switch

Kang81

@Palaws

Splinter Cell Blacklist was already on Wii U. I just don't think Ubisoft cares, or knows what to do with Splinter Cell right now. They're probably trying to figure out how to turn it into an open world game or an ever evolving online experience. Both of which I do not want, I'd rather they let the franchise stay in limbo before seeing either of those.

Re: Feature: 6 Huge Video Game Franchises Missing From Nintendo Switch

Kang81

I'd love to see all the Tomb Raider games devoted by Crystal Dynamics ported to Switch. While I love the latest reboot, I'd love CD's first reboot (Legend/Underworld/Anniversary) on Switch even more.

I'd also love to see Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light along with Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris on Switch as well. I'm fact, I desperately want another isometric Tomb Raider, they were amazing!

Re: Physical Version Of Kingdoms of Amalur For Switch Includes The "Full Game" On Cartridge

Kang81

@Tasuki

My brother has been replaying it so I popped my PS4 copy into my PS5. Visually, it didn't age very well. I honestly think it would look better on Switch in handheld mode where visual faults will be harder to notice on a smaller screen.

I just wish they announced it was being worked on back when the other versions released. It hasn't been that long, perhaps the publisher was hoping this would help persuade people to double dip? 🤷‍♂️

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying The Cloud Version Of Hitman 3 On Nintendo Switch?

Kang81

Unless something like GamePass or PSNow came to Switch, no way. Even then it's a hard sell since it's all streaming, and the Switch doesn't exactly have the best Wi-fi tech in it as evident by browsing the eshop and downloading games even on my excellent connection. Of course, thats also likely due to Nintendo's generally poor online functionality as a whole.

Re: Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Is Coming To Switch With DLC Included

Kang81

@Slowdive

It's been a long time, I never finished it due to moving on to the PS4/XB1 generation.

I'm pretty sure it had tons of them. I recall having a very large quest log, possibly even sub-quests.

It was the design of the world that kinda intrigued me, but the combat that kept me. I always thought if Fable had combat closer to Amalur, it would make Fable even better. I can see it being closer to a WoW look, but I never played WoW or MMO's, so I associated it with Fable.

By today's standards, the combat likely isn't as great, but it has one of my favorite weapons in video game memory. Chakrams, like Xena. Except you use two at once and they're really flashy and fun.

As for the story, I guess I'd give it another go. I'm big on fantasy reading and all, but Amalur was hard to follow. Names were pretty odd, even by fantasy standards, and I just couldn't keep up with everything. It was like throwing the history of Amalur at you all at once, but it would have taken reading numerous novels or games to take in the lore and retain it. It was as if the game assumed you had played or read a bunch of stuff concerning Amalur before. Considering this was initially just a way to fund an MMO in the same fantasy world, I can see why they put so much into the lore.

Edit:

It's a fun game, and I may have glanced over it but I didn't see a price. It's an older game, not that it makes it bad, but if it's priced over $30 (I'm US), then that's already pushing it in my opinion. I'd say it's worth $20, but I'm guessing they'll charge $40.

Re: Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Is Coming To Switch With DLC Included

Kang81

@Slowdive

It only caught my attention because I wanted a new Fable at the time. Gameplay is fun, but the story bored me to death. Far too much dialog for the NPC'S. Eventually I just started spamming the skip text button just to get quests and updates to them. I dont think I've ever done that in a game before, or since.

Re: Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Is Coming To Switch With DLC Included

Kang81

So NOW they announce it. 🙄

I wanted this on Switch from the start, but they never announced it was coming so I bought it on PS4 during a sale. I never got far back ok the 360, and always wanted to go back to it. This is a perfect fit for Switch, and since the remaster barely changed much, it should perform fine.

Oh well, I'm not buying it again. I really wish companies wouldn't hide the Switch ports. If it's coming later, just say so.
