Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4 Falls From The Top Ten

KITG_GROUP

@John_Deacon It could be as the console is picked up physically with the bundled game that they count it as a physical sale.

or number 2 , MKW has seen it's retail copies selling at around £50 , so many might be picking it up because of the cheaper price if they bought a non bundled switch and didn't want to pay £75 at the time.

Re: Paramount Makes Rival Bid For Warner Bros. After Netflix's $82 Billion Offer, Includes Game Studios

KITG_GROUP

Whatever the outcome, I'm hoping for Paramount as it will mean films at Cinemas, on DVD and Bluray.
Netflix is a horrible idea and it will mean so much good stuff will be relegated to streaming.

I don't subscribe to Netflix, never have and never will.
Netflix is the death knell to physical media and popcorn nights at the cinema .

The sheer loss of certain features at Cinemas would reduce Cinema visits resulting in Cinema Closures .

we have lost so may already .

Re: Feature: My NES Longing, My Son's Terrifying Switch 2 Obsession

KITG_GROUP

Being that the Sw2 is a pricey bit of kit , like all consoles these days. I suppose its a harder buy for most parents.

Plus its not just the £429 for a Mario kart bundle, but add in an other game or two , Nintendo online, and if your wanting two player so normal hands can paly , a pro controller.

yeah that £429 just became £650.

remember when the Wii came out £250 got you the system and a couple extra games. Its not such a easy layout now.

Re: Feature: 10 Years On, Is Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival Really That Bad?

KITG_GROUP

I purchased it cheap in the big box, I thought for two amiibo even if the game is shoddy it's worth it.

I made my mates play it in a night of games. It went on for ages, I think they wanted to lock me away after that.

I was really trying to see if enjoyment could be had, but yeah , its a slog and your friends will hate you if you make them play this.

Re: UK Charts: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Just About Scrapes Into The Top Five

KITG_GROUP

I think with how many each person buys new at launch each year , there are to many incoming games, and at £56.95 in the UK its a big shell out when the likes of Kirby Riders and Metroid Prime 4 are on the horizon.

Plus Pokemon ZA just launched.

I bought Age of Imprisonment , but only because i had a £25 gift card from months ago which i used in Argos and only paid £31.95 to get the game. Or else i would have waited.

I had originally been look at Age of Calamity , but even so that game seems to hold it's price on the second hand market.

AOI is a good game though and if your into Dynasty warriors games its a fun take on the series. And this is really polished .

But with the season to be jolly looming with all these games vying for your cash, it's a hard choice.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Team Open To More DLC: "Tell Us What You Want"

KITG_GROUP

A Million copies since launch is pretty good for a Sega Kart racer.
what's it been six weeks?
I also believe once the Switch 2 version arrives it will sell a bucketload.
As for the DLC , you can just buy the content you want. only completists need buy the season pass.
and if more Sega characters are announced that will be a bonus.
I reckon it will be a big Christmas seller. as it will get discounted in physical form in retailers .
and i can see it selling a fare amount on Switch2 when launched.
With Sega games I think they look at the long run, as often word of mouth over time produces sales.

I have it on series X , which I'm sure is its lowest install base, and the users reviews of the game are very positive.
It really is Outrun in Sonic form.
You gotta Go fast.

Re: Sonic Team's Boss Wants To Put More Sonic Characters In The Spotlight

KITG_GROUP

@JR150 , you never know, back in the Dreamcast era. Sega assembled a new game studio to make more games centric to females that weren't silly fluffily Barbie style games.

All the studio was female led as well as all the programmers. They released one game which was pretty good, which actually got a fan translation in English as it was a Japanese only release. With the demise of the Dreamcast the studio never got to realise their full potential

Re: Ask Iwata Is Getting A Paperback Release In Summer 2026

KITG_GROUP

I shall def grab a copy when it releases.
Iwata San had a mindset not many seem to have.

he was practical yet exuded much revelation about how life should be lived and worked hard at implementing that in his work ethic and his interaction with his various connections.

I would say his philosophy is very reminiscent of the late Great Bruce Lee who gave his all to perfect all that mattered within his life.

Thank you Iwata San

Re: Team Ninja Founder And Industry Veteran Tomonobu Itagaki Has Passed Away

KITG_GROUP

A true Warrior and gaming legend.
I remember reading back in the day that the original Team Ninja guys all had a background in the martial arts.

I know Itagaki San had a Samurai Sword , i believe i read his father gave it to him. But it was a long time ago. I'm talking back around 1995 /96 when Dead or Alive came out on Sega Saturn , of which I bought a imported Japanese copy from the original Computer Exchange in Rathbone street in London.

Re: Nintendo Is Opening Its Fourth Store In Japan This Year

KITG_GROUP

London would be great. whether it be in a place like Leicester sq.. or even one of the Westfield sites.

I know many in the UK would love it. they could expand after with Manchester and Scotland.

Yes as someone else mentioned , London always gets it first, but then that's where the footfall is . Lets put it this way , Londoners aren't going to slap to say Manchester for a Nintendo store. But many who travel from Manchester say would visit the London store.

Re: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Scores New Switch 2 Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

KITG_GROUP

Yes I was looking at this to get, but gave it a pass due to it's Switch 2 limitations compared to other versions,
I really wanted to support it due to it's Physical on cart edition.

They should have waited a month or so and got the bug fixes out and stuff on the actual cart.

I love the way their doing physical carts at Marvellous but when the releases are not optimised it puts them in a bad light.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Been Updated To Version 2.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

KITG_GROUP

How we all miss Iwata San.
2015 was the year the change started.
It has come to fruition for them as now they are like every other company.
But as gamers what can we do. it's either bite the bullet and pay the price or move on.

From Switch 2's game key cards to Xbox 's code on disc games or complete discless games, like Avowed, South of Midnight ect.
These companies only can be hurt by not buying into there schemes.
But not many are not strong enough to withstand not buying that essential game we have all been craving for.

For me ive been gaming decades.
I have always said once gaming is not available on physical media. is the day i don't buy that system.

I only buy now what i can get on disc or cart The added cost of the extra storage for these systems so you can download is getting expensive now with dedicated storage devices and pricey express micro sd cards.

lets all get our SNES, PS1's and Megadrives out.
actual games physical and say no more.

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

KITG_GROUP

Mario 40th was strange, focus on film and museum till we got any games,
Galaxey 1+2 seem a lot of money , even with enhancements.
Just checked , i can buy the originals on Wii for around £20-£25 for both, Play them on the Wii U which visually gives them a boost through HDMi anyway.

Not paying crazy money for Wonder. 2 edition.
And the highlight for me was that the 40th big game was a Yoshi Game, . so quite interested in that one.
The Tennis game was pretty cool to, but maybe a Golf one would have been more up my street.

The DLC for DK did seem very close to release. i wont be buying that. it seems like they had it already.
Once I've finished the main game Ill be happy with that as it is a fun game.

Metroid Prime 4 was the big one for me . love the cyberbike. so a def buy, but we new it was incoming anyway.

Age of Imprisonment is a def buy for me, as i love the Warriors games, Unlike mainstream Zelda games which take time and you have to be methodical about.

The Warriors games are good for a quick blast, , do a mission , save and come back later.

The third party stuff where a mix bag. MK collection , a must buy as its on the cart.

The final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games being key cards, are gonna put me off, and will only buy when there dirt cheap.

Not that into Pokemon games, but thought the paid dlc announcement prior to the games release was a tad money grabbing considering it releases same day as the game.

Fire Emblem looked nice, but not the type of game i play loads of, turn based affairs i buy very rarely,
Purley because they take so long, 100 plus hour games are not something i get time to do that often.
but im sure its a long way of presently anyhow.

as I'm currently playing Metaphor Refantazio as my turn based fix at the moment.

And with the Tokyo Game show coming up, Im sure more will be announced from the likes of Sega, Bandai , and more.

Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Friday, 12th September 2025

KITG_GROUP

Oh yes, Will watch rerun after work.
Metroid Prime 4 , got to be incoming.

A new Mario I bet, though I'm not a big Mario fan. I don't rush out to buy them,

I don't think anything Zelda , too early

What I'd like to see is probably unlikely
A New Waverace
A new 1080 Snowboarding
More on Kirby Air Riders
Announcement of a new 32gb Cartridge for third parties.
so we get more actual physical games.

More info on Splatoon Raiders. I think this will right up my alley

I have a feeling some Animal Crossing news.

im sure there will be ton of third party studio announcements to.

Re: Review: Bubsy In: The Purrfect Collection (Switch) - Limited Run Cleans Out The Kitty Litter

KITG_GROUP

@KingMike oh im sure there are worse. but Busby was so high profile at the time. He deserves the grief.

But then i never had a NES or Snes. my gaming started on the Sinclair Spectrum and Atari St , so my gaming experiences where quite different to the console crowd.

my first console was the Atari Jaguar. which I loved and still do as it does have some good games as well some of the worst.

Re: Ubisoft Releasing Star Wars Outlaws Switch 2 Demo "Later This Year"

KITG_GROUP

shame the demo is not available for Switch owners now, as its one of those games that you either get into or doesn't click .

it looks nice in places on Xbox but gameplay can be a bit hit and miss in keeping you hooked.

Unlike Fallen Order which feels like a Star Wars adventure more so. Shame really a s Switch 2 edition of Fallen Order and Survivor would sell well on Switch 2 i believe.

Re: Panzer Dragoon Zwei: Remake Resurfaces, Will Be Playable At TGS 2025

KITG_GROUP

Yes textures look wrong, looks like they got the originals and glossed them over with some Dulux Gloss paint.
I don't have the originals , think i traded them when the Dreamcast came out.

I was so sure the Dreamcast would see new versions of the classics.

of course i still have Saga, that isn't going anywhere.

maybe Ill track down the originals again, as they where fun.

Re: UK Charts: Mario Kart World Takes The Lead While Cronos Sees Weak Sales On Switch 2

KITG_GROUP

yeah Outlaws has been out on other platforms for over a year and i personally bought it for £24.
I cant see many buying the game on PS5/XBXOX now and if they are its so cheap its a no brainer/

for all we know the 7% Xbox sales might only be 100 copies. , so actual numbers might be poo for all we know.

percentages don't give a indication of how ell its doing.

it might be 750 units for all we know.

Re: Reminder: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds 'Open Network Test' For Switch Is Now Live

KITG_GROUP

Played on Xbox , it runs well, for me I take this over over MKW any day.
I preferred Sonic Transformed over MK8 , MK8 is a lot better then MKW.

On XBOX THE VISUALS LOOK SUBLIME. Everything moves well.
yet to try the Switch version. The game pops in visuals and it was a pleasure to try this out. Ill got MKW with the bundle ,but hardly play it.
but it looks like I'll get this on Xbox and maybe the Switch 2 version on cart when it drops.

Re: CD Projekt Reveals 75% Of Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Sales Were Physical In Opening Month

KITG_GROUP

I bought it at Launch instead of SF6 once i found out sf6 was a key card.
apart from the stupidly priced bargain's on the shop (under £5 to £10 ) I'm only buying physical media for my Switch 2, on a cart.
I have cyberpunk, Donkey Kong Bananaza , and today i picked up the switch 2 version of Kirby Forgotten Land.
Next will be Demon Ex Machina ...

Keep the Faith , Keep it Physical.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6

KITG_GROUP

if this happens then the PS6 wont be backward compatible with physicals , which sell quite largely on the system current.

having a fragmented system with different skus at different levels of backward compatibility wont help either.

if they wanted to go this route they would have to start fresh with one system using cartridges, and that would lean itself to the problems the Switch 2 is having with the game key fiasco.

prices will skyrocket.
They should stick to what they know best.

I feel a big shake up is coming in the game industry when the next gen starts.
I reckon if it goes more leaning to disc free systems then many might just jump ship and go the PC route for there playtime.

some may just abandon modern gaming full stop.

I like many reason if I cant hold it in my hand. then I ain't bothering.

Time will tell
