I do love a bit of Neo Geo. actually have a Neo CD , but only own a few games.
Would love to buy these and the previous titles. but as I don't have a Switch , but will have a Switch 2 , are not the first iterations not compatible with Switch 2 if I remember.
I had a Saturn modded at CEX Rathbone Plc back in the day. Lovely . for the 16 bit era i was a Atari computer gamer. Games where so much cheaper. Then on the Snes and Megadrive.
Insta download for me. I purchased the WiiU Fast Racing Neo back in the day and still play it. I love that game. And small file size is cool as it wont eat up my onboard storage.
@WiltonRoots where were Advanced Console Entertainment. I remember another game shop the other side of Oxford Street , unable to remember the name. all I remember is i purchased Radient Silvergun on Saturn there.
There used to be a Importers in Central Finchley to. where I bought a Dreamcast casing and Jet Grind Radio.
You know I loved going to those places. even if i wasn't buying anything.
Not good, you pay for the added expense of having a case and artwork and a activation cart. you have to use your bandwidth to download the game, plus your need to constantly buy these micro express sd cards to store them on.
With game keys your onboard storage will be gone in no time. so if your a regular buyer of software, your be shelling out for a few of these express sd cards ,
I think a lot of these games from third parties will get physical on cart releases , but through the likes of companies like Limited Run.
much like the Yakuza collection of late on Limited Run. of which I have ordered Yakuza Kiwami on Switch. Yakuza Kiwami 2 on XBOX , 0 on PS4 and Yakuza 6 on Xbox. Xbox never got the early games Physical , only digital , so having physical Xbox versions will be nice.
But yes I will wait to see how this all plays out on Switch 2. I will only buy games that are fully on a cart for all my Switch 2 games. Plus I have a lot of Switch games to catch up on as I never owned a a Switch.
@WiltonRoots always wanted one of those Hello kitty Dreamcasts back in the day. I use to frequent Computer Exchange in Rathbone place (Now known as CEX) , they had all the new imports , But i waited for the Euro launch on DC , and literally saved up £500 to spend on the day. Was awesome.
would love a physical of this, Jeff Minter does make a wacky game, last one i bought was Aka Aah on PS4 . I also have a Space Giraffe on the good ole 360. As well as the Jaguar Tempest 2000 and his Defender 2000 also on the Jaguar. What was crazy about Defender 2000 was that Bethesda ( Starfield) also had a Defender reimagining they developed on the Jaguar called Protector . They actually decided not to release the game when they saw Jeff Minter was releasing a Defender update. It eventually Protector did get released well after the Jaguars demise. when a indie publisher got the rights. Oddly though , many say the Bethesda game is the more user friendly due to the crazy speed the Jeff Minter game moves at.
I thought thought the WiiU line up as pretty good. I got Sonic Racing, Tekken WiiU edition, on day one. Tank Tank Tank was a one i got launch week, also Funky Barn is a really good game , and the Transformers Prime game was actually a pretty good and was a exclusive , it's not the same game as on other systems. it was unique to WiiU . Plus the Batman game was re jigged so well for the gamepad it deserved a award. I suppose the lack of a new Mario Game or Mario kart or any of the big Ninty franchises at launch was where it was let down.
Can you imagine if the WiiU had launched with Splatoon. I think the whole story would have been different.
GameCube launch was good, though not exhaustive in numbers, Luigis Mansion and Rogue Squadron where awesome.
I'm excited for the Switch2 launch. I have the MK bundle on pre order. Street Fighter 6 and Cyberpunk maybe the two big guns i will get. but Im also getting a few Switch games over the next couple months to bolster the game library , yes I never owned a Switch. So this is like getting two new consoles in one this time round.
GAME AND ELECTRONICS BOUTIQUE crashed the independent game store scene in the UK , they had all these return policies , people playing games and returning them. big trade in deals, then once all the independent shops couldn't compete because of their buying power and closed down. They changed their tune and stitched everyone up.
Good riddance to them. sorry for the staff ,, the bloke who owns Frazers group is a horrible person whose staff don't know when their working or not. one week you might get 35 hours and the next 10 , how can you live like that? stopped going near them years ago and sports direct.
to think years ago HMV , OUR Price, stocked games at better prices. I know HMV still do games but mostly online , they only have a few latest releases in stores.
But I use HMV a lot for films, CDs and Vinyl. The only Independent games stores I know are more retro orientated. As the market there is healthy . very few in London , but just outside like Southend, Romford or up North Norwich they are.
@WhiteUmbrella Congratulations on being one of the stalwarts that actually bought a WiiU. I never bought a Switch as when Kimishima took over he totally abandoned all games in Development for WiiU. Instead of looking after the 13 millon buyers of WiiU he stabbed us in the back. We didnt have a massive range of games and I think that if Iwata didnt pass , he would have been more in making sure WiiU owners had some newer titles before the Switch took over.
Ill buy a Switch 2 because i can now buy all those Switch games used , at cheaper prices. and pick and choose which Switch 2 titles i want slowly .
Price wise i think the Switch 2 is what i excepted mostly , i thought it might be £379 in UK . I have already pre ordered the MKW bundle as i didnt want to pay £70 -£75 for Mario kart. as in the Wii U days i actually enjoyed Sonic Racing Transformed more. .. we await in anticipation for the 5th of June.
seeing as i never bought a Switch , ill be purchasing some old Switch games to play. and the odd new Switch 2 game, Metroid switch 2 version, Donkey Kong and looking forward to the Dustbloods from FROM software.
the improved storage will be great for Switch one games due to taking up less space. But Ill go mostly physical .
Its a big outlay £395 plus a game, and a Pro controller. But as I have Yakuza Kiwami on Switch order from Limited Run , Ill be playing that a lot. As I'm at the end fight in Yakuza 0 on Xbox. .
Another good place for imports if your UK based is Bazaar Bazaar. They have imports from the far east and a selection of Limited Run games. I have used them a couple of times and are very good with free shipping for UK buyers. https://www.bazaar-bazaar.com/
yes m, I had this on PS1. sold it for some reason or another. if i had it on Saturn I would probably still have it. And the Saturn version is selling for decent money nowadays.
Did like the game, but I sold many PS1 games funding my Dreamcast purchase back in the day.
Pandemonium was the other title I remember getting rid off. Must admit wish i still had them both.
@Member_the_game Yes the £400 area does seem to be the norm nowadays. But then I paid £309 for my WiiU back in 2012. so with the way things have gone up £400 would be ok.
I never bought a a Switch. , yet there are a few games I would like to play. So I'm waiting for the Switch 2 so I can play some of those older Switch games as much as the new Switch 2 games.
@Member_the_game , yeah but if $400 , i bet it will be £379.00. I don't think it will be that much cheaper for us. The UK and Europe always pay more then the USA. A shame but true.
The original was released on all popular 8bit and 16 bit formats when released . I have the original on the Sinclair Spectrum. And yes the original is hard as nails as well. Elite Systems originally released the game
Probably a bit low in real terms of value. Sega being no'1 is well deserved. and Focus do release a lot of good games across platforms. so there 5 listing seems fair. Atari should have placed higher , surly people are not playing the games.
But how do the likes of Ubisoft and Super Rare, Red art place even as high as they did. Go figure Ill never understand the way peoples minds work. Maybe these should be broken down into two categories, Games from Publishers of AAA/ AA/ A GAMES AND INDIES.
@Toastmaster Yeah the movie license thing back in the 8 bit and 16 bit days where crazy, it was Ocean that hit it big time with the Robocop license. I still have it on my Spectrum . awesome game. but there where so many bad ones. Highlander , ahhh. I bought that to.
@Toastmaster Did you know at launch , Atari had over a million pre-orders for the Jaguar? , MOSTLY throughout Europe as the Atari ST was a big deal back deal . That's why Sega and Nintendo where worried about Atari's new console. But they chose IBM to manufacturer it who where used to churning out low numbers of Computers and not geared to a do a Launch of Million consoles. . If it had worked Jack Tramiel's Atari might still be around. I read years ago hundreds of retailers had to issue refunds on deposits as IBM couldn't deliver. So while all that was going on Nintendo and Sega laughed at the thought of Sony releasing a console. and didn't really take notice. They where more worried about the rise of Atari again.
@Toastmaster The original Atari was Nolan Bushell. he and his partners sold to Time Warner when it all went belly up in 1984. That's when the Tramiel's stepped in to buy Atari. Who was previously the man behind the Commodore 64. in 1995 after Tramiel's son had a heart attack who was running the company back then . He returned to take the reigns, that's when he decided to merge with a disk drive manufacturer in a reverse merger. JTC i think their name , they swallowed up all the money . Atari where not bankrupt they had just won court cases against SEGA and had millions in the bank. JTC where the ones in trouble and destroyed Atari, which was then sold to Hasbro then they sold to Infogramess. . So in all Atari have gone through many owners over the years.
Many rememebr the Tramiel years as they where responsible for the Atari ST , Atari Lynx , Jaguar and 7800.
If these shots are true then does it not take the bonanza of the reveal away. OK we new Nintendo would stick to the same format. or at least we all think that. What if they reveal a handheld and a stand alone unit for TV only (at a cheaper price of course.) haha plus as I don't have a a Switch I am interested in the new console. providing backward compatible means it will read original Switch carts. Not just digital (that is a possibility ) , plus price is key , anything more than £400 It would have to have some big key features we haven't seen yet.
Plus I hope they don't call it Switch2. waiting for a new catchy name.
Volgarr, what a toughie. I played it on Dreamcast after Marc Hall ported the game with permission. Its free to download. You can buy a fully boxed version from the likes of Pixel heart but your just paying for the box and art . And the Dreamcast version is a great port to. .
@AStupidID Well Limited Run done a Switch pre-order for this a couple weeks back. its now closed. it , i ordered it, its arriving March 2025. cost me £70 with that and the Limited Run Yakuza 0 for another console...
some nice sets, prices do differ dramatically. I presume its the licensing fee that makes the price quite high on some and lower on others. I noticed the Nintendo , Disney ones are quite a lot more in comparison to say Sega's licensed offerings. Some of the Star Wars stuff is ludicrous pricing. So Maybe its just Lego but the Ip holders who want so much money for the license.
@OorWullie This super game, which I read was like a way off. Plus the Switch when released was underpowered its now ancient. Obviously there focusing on Ps5/ Xbox and whatever Nintendo releases next.
@Fromnearandfar Here Here. Maybe Sega should stop putting games on Nintendo systems as all you see here are others slagging Sega.
Look how they supported all the different platforms when they first went third party. All those Gamecube releases. and Wii. And people also forget how big they are in the PC world. Where they make loads of money. Yes Nintendo platforms may not get all the games, but is that not Nintendo's fault for not releasing hardware that keeps up with everyone else?
Anyway is was a well known that when Nago9shi was in charge he wouldn't green light loads of projects choosing to fund those countless Yakuza games, which I love but yes bit would have been nice to have other IPs. Since he has gone Sega have a new zest for bringing various IPs again. Dont forget people where getting Crazy Taxi Jet Set Radio Shinobi Golden Axe and more. Long Live Sega
cor a nice looking game. actually a couple of games that may actually sway me to get a Switch on the cheap. I thinking Nintys new console is gonna be £350-£400. Not prepared to pay that to be honest.
Marvel vs Capcom is a nice collection, but as i have most of the games already its not really doing it for me at full price. great for those have never had them though.
And if that Metroid 4 is actual current Switch footage, then i'M IMPRESSED.
THE ideal way would be if its a standalone portable which has complete access to your Xbox account, with the ability to play any of your physical games you have on your xbox console. Here comes the crunch. seeing as any games you have on your Xbox which you bought physical need the disc in the drive to play the game.
How do they get over not having physical media on the portable.? the idea of having such a portable sounds great. but if i can not play my physical games it's a no buy.
unless its a stand alone portable with carts with a new library of games. Like the PSP , VITA or DS.
Just don't see how this will work.
A great way to stop customers buying physical media , as there be no point if you have a Xbox portable.
But also a great way to stop me buying anymore hardware from them. Maybe i should go buy Atari's new 2600 + , a true physical media platform.

You can pre order the switch 1 version standard edition on cart from Game Collection.
So why is the switch 2 version a gamekey.?
this is just ludicrous..
Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?
I will get a carry case , but not a Original one as there pricey.
will look for a third party one as it just to keep the unit clean,
Its not something i would take out of the house unless i was going somewhere away for a few days.
Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?
@Friendly Apparently all Switch original accessories work.
I will be picking up a Switch 1 Pro controller as there a lot cheaper.
As the C button is Online thing, And i don't do online .
Hell i can pick up two pro controllers for the price of the Switch 2 one .

Oh Judgment that's another game series Sega have released. Forgot about that for a minute. Crazy since I'm currently playing through it.
Re: Sega's Gamescom 2024 Line Up Includes 'Global Premier' Of Unannounced Project
@Sejman22 Oh and there was that fighting game, Manga style , what was it called , Demon or something. on all platforms.
Re: Sega's Gamescom 2024 Line Up Includes 'Global Premier' Of Unannounced Project
@OorWullie I suppose there cautious with Yakuza , when they released the two remasters on WiiU they sold nothing.
But then they never released those remasters in the West , which they should have , i would have bought them.
I guess Sega think the biggest market for Yakuza is in the East and everyone from that region has already played them .
Look how long it took for Xbox to get the Yakuza games.
Re: Sega's Gamescom 2024 Line Up Includes 'Global Premier' Of Unannounced Project
@OorWullie This super game, which I read was like a way off. Plus the Switch when released was underpowered its now ancient. Obviously there focusing on Ps5/ Xbox and whatever Nintendo releases next.
Re: Sega's Gamescom 2024 Line Up Includes 'Global Premier' Of Unannounced Project
@Fromnearandfar Here Here.
Dont forget people where getting
Crazy Taxi
Jet Set Radio
Shinobi
Golden Axe
and more.
Long Live Sega
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Box Art Has Been Revealed
cor a nice looking game. actually a couple of games that may actually sway me to get a Switch on the cheap.
Re: Rumour: Xbox May Be About To Join The Switch In The Handheld Space
