@Coolmusic do people get confused with Yuji Naka who did get behind bars. It seems a lot of these former heads of big Japanese development houses , create controversy , especially when they leave. In some cases its sad they depart their place of work for the past tens of years, Inafune may have done some great games under Capcom, but you must be a Mega Man fan to appreciate them. Mighty N0'9 was a ok game for the price i Paid, it's glitchy and lacking in some areas. but for us game starved WiiU owners back in the day it was anew game.

It was nice to view E3 , a week of all releases and news, even with the directs and streams. I loved all the coverage of the show floor and the goodies on sale. And i was only watching via youtube or Twitch. I was hoping that Reedpop was organising it that it would be a stellar show. shame if you ask me. But then I used to go to all the Computer and Video game shows in the UK back in the 80's , they where so much fun. I once traveled ages to go to a Atari show , which tunred out to be the size of a peanut. But it was still a good time. I love the BUZZ!
And this is the problem with most review sites, unless its a group of people reviewing the product and giving a average your either going to get scores that are low or high depending on one persons tastes. You don't need a Switch to set up a Nintendo account, just set one up on PC and link your accounts. I purchased a eshop card the other day. and bought a couple bits. And WiiU got a new game today. Shadow Archer Special , I bought it and it's a fun Smash Tv clone. And the Last WiiU release as of now.
I don't know, I know Yuiji Naka has a rep, but I think to what he has made, as a games creator, the man who comes up with the mechanics of a game , he's usually spot on. I enjoy most of his games from Sonic, Sonic Adventure, Chu Chu Rocket, Nights, Billy Hatcher,Ivy the Kiwi,Burning rangers and more. Even Rodea the Skysoldier is a very neat game providing you play the Wii version that plays as Naka intended. Also to think that upto his departure from Sega he was the man who greenlit all the games. Now go back to the Gamecube ,Xbox and PS2 Sega games and you have a huge amount of fine software.
The Minute he left and Nagoshi took over, Sega's output started to twindle to a point that none of it's IP where being used. I like the Yakuza games but Nagoshi was very blinkered to what he greenlit. Yuji Naka did a much better job of giving the Sega fans games they wanted.
And if you read the story of how Balan Wonderworld got sidelined and Naka was baiscally told to get lost, and he knew the game needed work to make it better. Yet they still released the game in a poor state after using his name to gain popularity for the game . So looked ,like he was stabbed in the back. hell I would would have put a huge turd there instead of just blacking it out, Now that would have been really funny.
Very Nice looking , but why price in dollars? the video is from Nintendo Europe, I would expect Euro price. Now how much is it in GBP....as I be in Blighty
Yeah it was Jack Tramiels son who was in charge in the Atari Falcon and Jaguar years, Jack came out of retirement after Sam had a heart attack. ,And he saw the state it was all in closed it down. But Jack was a clever guy , maybe if he had still been in charge at the launch of the Jag and Falcon it might have been different. Jack was the man behind the Commodore 64 and Atari ST and they where great sellers. As far as Bushnell where never know , he was more of a boffin he needed a better corperation to get the marketing right, for some of the games . And Time Warner well they where out to make bucks and were not going to risk being stuck with a dumpling.
@AnonymousWizard Someone who gets it , so many forget about SEGA's PC output like Total War ( though I would love a console version) Humankind, and such like. Sega where voted best publisher a couple years back I believe to. I feel with Nagoshi gone there being more diverse and the Sonic movies are bringing in much needed cash. Hopefully No3 will do the same and I hope the Streets of Rage movie does the same. It all helps to make them develope games. Just think SEGA's on a big comeback these past few years and I believe its gonna get better.
@Handsomistic15 I just bought Eternal Champions on the Mega Drive, need a six button pad though all mine are 3 buttons. Makes it hard to pull of all the moves ..
@anoyonmus Yes but the creator Nagoshi was demoted , he was the head of all gaming and greenlit all projects, in fact he held back projects by concentrating on his own Yakuza series. Anyway since his demotion he has now left SEGA and started a new software company. SEGA has since opened a another development studio in Japan and its here where a lot of these new games will come from. It seems like thay have someone controlling game management in amore diverse way now. So dont rule out a Switch port of Yakuza just yet... LONG LIVE SEGA.
@KingMike They did have a few big hitters on the books for the Jaguar , But none of the games made the light of day.. Which was a a shame. Thay contacted so many companies and said yeah we like that for the system but never caem up with the cash or commonly gave out a retainer then never followed through to seal the deal... FIGHT FOR LIFE on the Jaguar was a prime example. they never paid the dev his arranged fee, just got a reatiner , so when Atari asked for the game to release , he sent them the beta version and not the final aplpha Gold version. Atari released the beta version to the public, which is the one game I have that I know is actually not in finished form. But out there is the final code some where , that dev must still have it.
Though Modern Atari is just Infogrammes renamed. They did deliver the Atari VCS to backers and you can buy the system in the USA or Worldwide via their site, yes it's pricey for what it is , a glorified PC in a retro inspired Atari 2600 case. So the fact they delivered is a plus and better than the travesty of the Amiico by treacherous Tommy.
Atari was a house hold name in gaming , their Arcade Machines were mindblowing in the 70's .
Their biggest mistake , turning down Nintendo to market the NES in the USA.
The Atari 2600 sold some 30 Million units in the 70's. But after the video game crash where they buried loads of ET carts it all went haywire.
They where owned by Time Warner then. But came along Jack Tramiel ( the man behind the COMMODORE 64) and bought them. Under him they released the 5200 and the 7800. And also had a successful Personal Computer business which came to frutition with the Atari ST ( a wonderful System) which was used widely in the Music industry due to the included Midi ports. But with the impending PC market about to explode with windows and Apple based machines they decided to re-enter the Console space. First was the Lynx Handheld , a really robust unit which even saw some success in Japan before they prematurly stopped selling it there. The Atari Jaguar was their console to re-enter the market and they had some 2 Million pre-orders as Atari was huge in Europe due to the success of the ST in the region.
From waht I understand their lack of hindsight and chossing IBM to manafacture the Jaguar was a mistake as they just could not turn out huge amounts of units in time. Producing justa handfull at a time. Combine this with a distribution deal that in the UK was a disaster as they had Rumbelows as the sole distributor for other retailers, a company that was behind the times as a electronic retailer at the time and was about to go into receivership.
To think that it both Nintendo and Sega where worreid about Atari and their Jaguar as they where a household name.
This left both Sega and Nintendo get caught out by the newby because they where focusing to much in one direction and along came Sony.
You can not talk Video Games without Atari , they will always be legends of gaming. And even though they excist by name only now and are French owned. I still have a soft spot for them. Hell I still have my Atari ST and Atari Jaguar , the later which gets new games developed to this day , with two recently released and others coming soon.
Long Live Atari , to see the new games for both Jaguar and Lynx as well as the classic 2600 visit AtariAge.
Well I have twelve of the games in the list. surpised the Two Trine Games where not in the List. I know there still in the EU eshop. And if you buy one I think they offer a discount for the other one. For me though I want to get Captain U as its one of the last games, though there is the new game Nintendo life previewed last Month to come, bit unfair for that developer, as now his game will up for like less than a year.
@Mando44646 Yes this what I am wondering, I have Nintendo account and my NNID is connected, so if I am able to add funds via PC and it stills shows on all eshops that will be cool. Then we have until March basically. It menas any 3DS and WiiU owners who have not opened a Nintendo account , should do and connect their NNID to take advantage of possible more time to get the titles they want.
@bbliksteen8 , So can you add funds via Nintendo account on PC , as I dont have a Switch do you now. If so that would extend the time people have to add funds to the eshop account.
You Know the bloke should put them all up for sale at the original Retail prices, that will sned a shockwave down to these idoits who think their used copy of Space Jam without a manual and crappy box is worth £200.
A while back Pixelheart did this very thing, the owners use to run a video game shop and had Boxes and boxes of sealed Dreamcast games, They stuck them all on their site for sale at the original retail prices, and they still have some stock left. It makes used copies less valuable.
Fed up with these collectors that just buy to put it on the shelf and never play it. I have a fair collection of games but I have played most of them with only about maybe under ten that I have yet to play .. Games are mean't to be played , not stuck on a shelf so you can say hay I have this and I have never opened it. These people ruin it for true gamers.
@BionicDodo its not just a cleaner, It looks like a haze in the disc doesn't it? Its not the celaner that does it it a paste which is a restorer. , you also if your in the UK, You could take it to CEX, as they have disc resurfacers and Im sure for a couple quid they would resurface it for you. Dont know if you use Twitter but if you look me up on there I can post a couple pictures of the stuff I use.
@BionicDodo If your PS2 disc looks cloudy it gathers humidity in the case, I have a large DVD collection and with films you view them less then games even, But I have also had a few games get cloudy. You go to eBay or amazon who ever you prefer. Buy CD/DVD cleaner and restore kit , you get for like under a tenner. Ones a liquid cleaner and the others like a fine paste. Use small amounts of the paste on the disc in up and down motions pushing quite firmly on a flat surface and it will remove that cloud, then clean it with the liquid , again in up and down motions , no circles.
That disc should be fine. I have done about forty or fifty dvd's and games so far with this stuff, also clean inside the dvd/ ps2 case. your see where it got a film on it, use soap and water or a antibacterial spray and dry it off.
When it comes to games and DVD, Blurays in plastic boxes they get miost in temperture changes, I now check my cases every few months , do ten at a time when i have a spare minute.
We gotta save these discs , there be like gold in years to come..
Yeah Not happy about this one, Its not as if we all can afford to buy all the software we would like at once, Which is what Ninty is asking. There's still stuff on Wii U I want and 3DS. But now it looks like first I have to invest in a backup drive for my WiiU stuff. so at least I have a back up of my digital stuff, because if DLC is going to undownloadable then thats not good.
Will I get to buy all I want? , probably not.. and I actually use my WiiU every week , at least twice a week I game on it.
So if thats the way New Nintendo want to be what reason would I have to buy a Switch. You wait when they do this to Switch owners once a new system comes out. , the uproar will be ten fold.
The fact I can still buy Xbox 360 games on my 360 is marvelous. I actually bought a couple of Sonic titles on 360 not so long ago. Yep way to go Nintendo , it must be the Yakuza in them .. its all those Oyabuns sitting on the board in Kyoto.
Well it all seems a bit soon. OK a year is not bad notice, but in all honesty it's only giving us until August to add any funds via eshop cards. So unless you have credit after August you can not add any funds. Really dont understand that.
I have a quite a few eshop games on WiiU , mainly indies, a few Virtual console and a smattering of retail releases which were expensive in physical editions.
There's a few I would like to get like a couple of indies and a couple of the DS and GBA games on on WiiU as i THINK THEY WORK GREAT ON THE SYSTEM.
Plus I need to grab the BOTW dlc on WiiU as well.
3DS I mainly want the Sega Ages titles I dont have , though I could try and locate a physical cart for those as they did release a bundle cart. But it is annoying as if they said it was going to be another two years or so that we could buy we could spread the cost more, it will mean not spending on other systems if I want to get the titles I want before I can no longer add funds.
I really enjoyed the first movie, it took me a while to see it, I eventually grabbed the bluray. Out of all the Video Game based movies Sonic I thought was the best, though I did also enjoy Detective Pikachu. And I like the original Mortal Kombat movie because it starred some real fighters..
Many will say the best video game movies are the Resident Evil ones as they spawned a few sequels and did realativly well.
So as far as the second movie with Sonic I'm hopefull it will be a blast. Obviously they must have had a couple of stories ar a long story that maybe could be split into two. But I think with these type of movies considering the target audiance each film should focus on a particular story and just have a teaser like the original at the end.
Looks like Sonic's gonna be spin dashing all over the place, and I for one can not wait..
Now I wonder what that Plumber will be doing in his outing ..
What would be a good story is , oh I best keep it secret , I may tell Sega and get some kudo's
Atari , Sega, Nintendo , these are the video games legends. Sega's exit from the hardware business was part there own fault with infighting between Sega USA and Sega Japan. In fact Sega had to much power that they went of designing consoles and what not. Spending millions. Sega sqaundered millions on multi console developement with many never released, pure madness. But No doubt Sega are Iconic as a software maker and their consoles where ahead of the time. The only time Nintendo used up to date hardware was the Gamecube which was the most powerful console Sixth Gen. But they messed that up using Mini discs which restricted content.
Sega produced some great games after the hardware exit on all consoles. it was Sammy'S MERGER IN 2005/6 THAT STARTED TO SLOW THEM DOWN, and the fact that Nagoshi who was put in charge of Game developement was restrictive to what he would greenlight. He may have made Yakuza great but hell did he hold other IP's back. But the past few years have seen Sega relaese some great games and even license out their IP. Though Im not so keen on that. It worked in the 8bit and 16 bit computer days where Sega Licensed out most of their titles for other devs to develop. Look at all the games on Sinclair Spectrum,Commodore 64, Amiga and Atari St...
Yes Sega have changed but they have survived and in time I think we will see some great new IP and returning IP again. Now that they have opened new studios and seem to be in a better place as they move forward.
For me Sony and Xbox will never be a relacement for the true video games companies. Now it's all about how much they can control via buy outs. Back in the day it was all a little more toungue in cheek with the console wars and I knida miss that..
@Korgon For Note Sega outright bought Atlus, they saved them from extiction. after their original holding company went bust big time. the only merger Sega has been in is when they merged with Sammy and that was against much of the managements will. As it was that Sammy ended up getting a controlling stake of shares.
Be nice if the accents where more diverse, using non native English speakers with European accents to voice some characters to give them their own authenticity.
Nice to see another Wii U release. It willl depend on price in the end, I just dont pay huge amounts for digital games, Just a shame Ninty shuttered the WiiU disc pressing plant so physical editions can not happen, Pixelheart released the last two PAL physical releases on Wii U, Looks like a few gamepads could get busted while you stand on a Balance board with the gamepad and a Wii remote to play this.. Yes we a need a strap for the WiiU gamepad..
In all honesty they have no reason to shutter the Eshops on the 3DS or WiiU .. Its just a server and what can it really cost them to run it compared to what their making. I don't usually buy digital, on Playstation of which I only have PS3 I have never bought digital. On Xbox i dabbled on 360 and Xone bought only buying cheap games for under ten pounds or less more often, but then again I only have about 25 purchases across both Xbox units. All my Xbox digital software is mainly games with gold. But on Wii U I purchased a fare amount and have more then sixty games digital. Mainly because of them being small indies and digital only or the odd VC title. I did have to purchase a couple of retail games digital due to the high cost associated with getting physical copies of a couple of titles. So all in all I have about 100 games digital across four formats. I have always believed physical is the preferred method of buying games and actually owning them. There Mine and I can sell them, Lend them to trustworthy people , I have lost a few this way many moons ago, they where not trustworthy i found. After gaming for generations I find I can not embrace digital media, I still buy DVD's and Bluray and have a vast VHS collection. So I wonder if this generation or the next will be the last Physical generation for games. I will proably stop getting new consoles then and focus on gaming on retro systems and buying games from the many specialist developers making games for Megadrive,Dreamcast,NES and such like as a new physical game brings a smile to my face every time, taking that shrink wrap of is so much fun...
Yeah their probably go for it in some form, Hell how many of us Bought Amiibo's to unlock content in games, They watched what the likes of Skylanders, and the others where doing and thought where have some of that NFC stuff.
Now their watch what the likes of Konami, Ubisoft and if Sega go ahead and if there remotly succesfull for them Nintendo will hop on the Wagon with some of the wall version of the NFT..
New Nintendo want our money and Nintendo fans wont be able to resist it, especially the hard core ones. Its all very disturbing that people will pay huge money for digital artwork and think of it as a work of art, at least amiibo was a physical item which was great for display as well as unlocking the content.
If I had a Switch , I would get this. Just love these of the wall games Japan produces. , yes some will see it as perverted, butits Japan culture and is based on Hentai, which I know some is banned in some countries. But is it any different to Angus in the Atari Jaguar game Kasumi Ninja unleashing a fire ball from underneath his Kilt. Hahaha
@Tupin , Yep exactly what I thought, They demoted him because he as Head of the game development refused to greenlight many ideas. Sega always diversified, I think after Yu Suzuki and Yuji Naka left, Nagoshi seemed to let it go to his head. The sega of old would never have just let him do Yakuza title after Yakuza title. Under his leadership Sega game development was stagnent, Now they have set up a new Saporro studio for new IPs' and revisiting old ones, and the forthcoming Sonic game, which may be something special , Sega might well be delivering the goods. I wish Nagoshi well, I like the Yakuza games, but he could have done so much more. But if you look at previous big wigs at Sega they have not fared well in making new games outside of Sega. Yu Suzuki , he finally did Shenmue 3 but it took ages. But I understand he is still a advisor to Sega. Yuji Naka, well we all know his games after Sega, Though I enjoyed Rodea, Ivy the Kiwi . I think Sega has a certain work enviroment not many other Studios have, these guys just dont do as well when they leave. Gamers also follow developers within big companies, and surport their works, but when they leave and set up their own small studios or work with others, gamers loose track of them and often their games are not cross platform or on the console of choice.
@CoffeeWithGames Thing is chip shortage is still rife, they reckon it will continue till 2023, so with that in mind I can't see Nintendo announcing anything to soon, maybe not till 2023 with a Holiday 2023 release. I do beleive they will strecth Switch as long as they can so maybe a new console in Spring 2024, giving Switch 7 years
@Ventilator Yeah 2nd paragraph may a bit harsh, as I actually have a lot of respect for Japanese culture and people . I just find Sony for years ripped of people with high prices on consumer electronics which where below par compared to other brands, When they entered the gaming space they locked out many franchises splashing there cash on adverstising and deals the others good not afford, Sega,Nintendo ,SNk they all suffered. For me this is Sony getting some pay back.
@fafonio Yes they funded projects , but as Im aware there connection is more deeper. I know People dont like Tencent for no apparent reason, but hey as long as it delivers the goods

Re: Nintendo Prepares For 3DS & Wii U eShop Closure With Scheduled Maintenance
You don't need a Switch to set up a Nintendo account, just set one up on PC and link your accounts. I purchased a eshop card the other day. and bought a couple bits. And WiiU got a new game today. Shadow Archer Special , I bought it and it's a fun Smash Tv clone. And the Last WiiU release as of now.
Re: Yuji Naka Erases Former Co-Worker And Sonic Creator Naoto Ohshima From Team Photo
Re: Nintendo Reveals A New And Colourful Splatoon 3 Switch OLED
Very Nice looking , but why price in dollars? the video is from Nintendo Europe, I would expect Euro price. Now how much is it in GBP....as I be in Blighty
Re: Atari Acquires Video Game Database MobyGames For $1.5 Million

Re: Sega Plans To Leverage More Past IP With 'Remasters, Remakes, Reboots'
@AnonymousWizard Someone who gets it , so many forget about SEGA's PC output like Total War ( though I would love a console version) Humankind, and such like. Sega where voted best publisher a couple years back I believe to. I feel with Nagoshi gone there being more diverse and the Sonic movies are bringing in much needed cash. Hopefully No3 will do the same and I hope the Streets of Rage movie does the same. It all helps to make them develope games.
Just think SEGA's on a big comeback these past few years and I believe its gonna get better.
Re: Sega Plans To Leverage More Past IP With 'Remasters, Remakes, Reboots'
@Handsomistic15 I just bought Eternal Champions on the Mega Drive, need a six button pad though all mine are 3 buttons. Makes it hard to pull of all the moves ..
Re: Sega Plans To Leverage More Past IP With 'Remasters, Remakes, Reboots'
@anoyonmus Yes but the creator Nagoshi was demoted , he was the head of all gaming and greenlit all projects, in fact he held back projects by concentrating on his own Yakuza series.
Anyway since his demotion he has now left SEGA and started a new software company. SEGA has since opened a another development studio in Japan and its here where a lot of these new games will come from. It seems like thay have someone controlling game management in amore diverse way now.
So dont rule out a Switch port of Yakuza just yet...
LONG LIVE SEGA.
Re: Atari Acquires Video Game Database MobyGames For $1.5 Million
Re: Atari Acquires Video Game Database MobyGames For $1.5 Million
@joey302 Yep Jaguar so underated. Yes 5200 was OG Atari and the Tramiels just continued selling it I believe. ....
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
@UsurperKing Ahhh , Didnt know Trine was on Switch. But then don't have a Switch.
Re: Atari Acquires Video Game Database MobyGames For $1.5 Million
Re: Thousands Of Dollars Of Rare Factory-Sealed SNES Games Unearthed After 27 Years In Storage
@dew12333 Yes but the joy of opening that box and smelling that new game far outways just gazing from the outside.
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
@jikflet Set up a new Nintendo ID and change the region your in, do you know if that would work.
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
@bbliksteen8 , So can you add funds via Nintendo account on PC , as I dont have a Switch do you now. If so that would extend the time people have to add funds to the eshop account.
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
@Luigivaldo Yes Runbow was a surpise game.. Quite the challenge
Re: Thousands Of Dollars Of Rare Factory-Sealed SNES Games Unearthed After 27 Years In Storage
Remember break that seal and play it folks..
Re: Random: "I'm Able To Trust Sony More Than Nintendo" - Japan Reacts To The Closure Of The Wii U And 3DS eShops
Re: Random: "I'm Able To Trust Sony More Than Nintendo" - Japan Reacts To The Closure Of The Wii U And 3DS eShops
Re: Poll: The End Is Coming, But How Much Will You Miss The Wii U And 3DS eShop?
Re: Nintendo Is Ending 3DS & Wii U eShop Purchases In March 2023
Re: Sega Announces Third Sonic The Hedgehog Film And Live-Action Paramount+ Series
Re: Review: PowerSlave Exhumed - An Old-School FPS That's Absolutely Worth Digging Up
@AmplifyMJ Aamxing game on the Saturn, bought it launch day..
Re: Sonic's Run On "Non-Sega Hardware" Made Yuji Naka Both Sad And Happy
Re: Sonic's Run On "Non-Sega Hardware" Made Yuji Naka Both Sad And Happy
@Korgon For Note Sega outright bought Atlus, they saved them from extiction. after their original holding company went bust big time. the only merger Sega has been in is when they merged with Sammy and that was against much of the managements will. As it was that Sammy ended up getting a controlling stake of shares.
Re: Poll: Do You Have An Issue With Xenoblade Chronicles' Accents?
Be nice if the accents where more diverse, using non native English speakers with European accents to voice some characters to give them their own authenticity.

@moodycat Bosch is also a very talented Martial arts fighter whose made a few low budget films. ,Watch Broken Path.
Re: The Wii U Is Getting A New eShop Game In 2022, Will Include Balance Board Support
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Mastery Of Physical Game Sales Hides Limited Digital Growth
Re: Nintendo "Has Interest" In NFTs And The Metaverse But Ponders What "Joy" It Can Provide
Re: Talking Point: As Lifetime Switch Sales Jostle With The Mighty Wii, Can It Possibly Catch DS?
@Orpheus79V Exactly
Re: Gal*Gun: Double Peace's Limited Edition Comes With Plushies And A 'DIY Tentacle Kit'
Hahaha
Re: Monkey Ball And Yakuza Creator Toshihiro Nagoshi Has Formed His Very Own Studio
Re: Talking Point: As Lifetime Switch Sales Jostle With The Mighty Wii, Can It Possibly Catch DS?
@CoffeeWithGames Thing is chip shortage is still rife, they reckon it will continue till 2023, so with that in mind I can't see Nintendo announcing anything to soon, maybe not till 2023 with a Holiday 2023 release. I do beleive they will strecth Switch as long as they can so maybe a new console in Spring 2024, giving Switch 7 years
Re: Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard, Now Owns Call Of Duty And Crash Bandicoot
Re: PlatinumGames Appoints New CEO, Aims To Deliver 'Innovative Forms Of Play'
