Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)

Judal27

Finished Kirby and the Forgotten Land. There are fun great moments but then there are some stages that tend to be overly long but the gameplay is too repetitive for that, so it tends to drag. It's also kinda too easy, only the true final boss poses any real challenge. But abilities are awesome, and it has a variety of neat little things to do which I like. And it managed to sate my hunger for a platformer lol

And I also started up Tales of Graces F. Been wanting to play this one forever and it does not disappoint. Absolutely love the characters and the dialogue. Story starts off pretty troupey but there's never a dull moment yet at least. And the style of the game is gorgeous

Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me

Judal27

It being kart racers with battling items, I expect and want tons of chaos. Mario kart is fun in very short bursts made slightly longer when I play with friends, but it is the most vanilla kart racer I've ever played and seen. And no where near enough people give it flak for making being 1st place, the most boring experience ever. All you ever get while in 1st is coins, and the very rare occasional banana, green shell, or 1 mushroom

Crossworlds in comparison is pure chaos in most of the right ways. It can get a little annoying if ur hit with like 3 items back to back. But that goes for anyone and there's a ton of different fun options to circumvent that, and as you learn the tracks they become easier to avoid. It just feels faster, more strategic, and competitive. The only other kart racer that had a similar feel for me was Kirby air ride lol. Here's hoping air riders follows

Re: Anniversary: Celebrate Unova As Pokémon Black & White Turns 15

Judal27

A remake would be cool if done right but they haven't been doing them right such as BDSP so yea... Not to mention that part of what made B&W so good was the neat use of 2.5D for the graphics of the game. It'd basically lose that charm being fully 3d now unless they make some kind of HD2D remake like Squares doing

Re: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Charges Onto Switch 2 In 2026

Judal27

Not feeling the character designs yet again but they're certainly a step above Engages. And with it seemingly being connected to 3H, then I'm sure I can expect the story and writing to not take a backseat like in Engage too. Definitely looking forward to seeing more

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Judal27

I do not have a single bit of FOMO for not owning one yet which I did have for the original Switch. So i guess that tells you what I think of the 4 meager exclusives out so far, and the 3rd parties I can or have already played elsewhere and are key cards. Just waiting on FE and whatever Monolith cooks be it Xenoblade or new IP

Re: Poll: So, Did You Order A Nintendo Switch 2?

Judal27

Nope another Nintendo console launch that just feels like an afterthought. The only other being wii u. But at least in this case I'm mildly interested in upgrading my switch. So maybe at some point down the line with the inevitable revision, I'll consider it

Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

Judal27

How much do they take off for having stick drift on the left joy con that is purely Nintendos fault?

I wasn't planning on getting a 2 any time soon if at all but if I could trade in my switch plus some controllers I never use, maybe it'll be worth an upgrade at whatever reduced price that is. Assuming I can just casually walk into a gamestop to do it. I'm not gonna be rushing and struggling to pre order one

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (19th April)

Judal27

Finally playing The Last of Us for the 1st time. Idk why it took me so long but it's been pretty good so far. One of my favorite implementations of stealth gameplay. Never too slow but you also don't breeze past clickers, making it all pointless. The story's been a little cliche but the character interactions have been great

And more Xenoblade X. Took me a while but got to ch.9, what a chapter 8 was. I'm really liking the story beats but getting to the actual story means going thru a bunch of side quests, affinity missions, and fighting a bunch of mobs to level up. It can be pretty exhausting at times. But when it clicks, it clicks. I'm still enjoying it and can't wait to get further into the story

Re: Mario Kart World's 'Free Roam' Is Much More Than Mindless Open World Driving

Judal27

By this logic no open world is just mindless running or driving or swimming or flying around, man. There's always something to do in any of them. But mindlessly driving around pressing switches and collecting coins does not scream $80 lol. I'm shocked they showed almost nothing else to do in its open world

Wake me up when Kirby Air Riders gets a trailer. I'm sure even if it's not open world. It'd still make way more use of its city trial map than whatever this was

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

Judal27

@Zuljaras you mean the little check that happens right when you actually click on the app to play? I'm definitely not a fan of that yea. Especially cause I forgot to set my switch to primary console one time, and it literally wouldn't let me play even my switch 1 cartridges offline lol. I can't imagine how frustrating this will be with these game key cards 😂

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

Judal27

@BrianJL with the exception of live service games such as MH Wilds or maybe stuff from companies like ubisoft that's just purely bloated, most games are entirely on the disc and the patches are small bug fixes. One of the biggest games rn on ps5 would be FF7 Rebirth and I could install it rn from discs with no internet and the only patch id miss is a small resolution bump for performance mode. Or Elden Ring, I'd miss a bunch of nerfs and buffs to different weapons but the game is completely playable thru the base disc with no patches

@electrolite77 yea but that initial download needs internet as far as I can tell

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

Judal27

My only real problem with this thing is that you NEED internet. The vast majority of PS and I think Xbox discs (I'm not sure about theirs) do not need internet to download a game off a disc. If my internet someday goes down which has happened, I know I can still pop in my discs and play them. You seemingly can't do that with these cartridges

Re: Nintendo Confirms US Price For 'Switch 2 Welcome Tour'

Judal27

It should be said repeatedly that Sony packed in an amazing 3d platformer with the quality of a Mario game altho with the length of a Kirby game if not shorter (keep in mind they're now most likely gonna be charging 80 and 70 for 3d Mario and Kirby too). And all for the price of 10 dollars less than this thing

It also lead to an equally amazing full fledged game but that's besides the point lol

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (5th April)

Judal27

MH Wilds, fought the Zoh Shia twice because the randoms that joined my quest the 1st time got obliterated by it lol. Gonna fight it some more for the amazing gear

Xenoblade X, admittedly haven't had as much time to play this as I would've liked this week. Went on a expedition to install a bunch of probes in oblivia and got a few cool party members. That's about it. Hopefully can really dig in this weekend

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

Judal27

@nhSnork that's funny cause as far as I remember that was a trade off for choosing to play on a switch. On the go play at the expense of nearly everything else taking a hit. Graphics, loading times, fps, etc. So no, it doesn't matter if you played 20 hrs or 5 minutes (which is kinda hard to believe when the busy man Sakurai himself had time to play hundreds of games on his ps5 lol) of a game on ps or an xbox or pc. It is still a better experience on those platforms than on a switch. And frankly in the year 2025, it also loses its on the go angle now that pc handhelds exists. How anybody with one, can look at the ports they showed today and be excited, when they can literally already play them on a handheld rn and cheaper (and with similar capabilities of a pc like mods and free online) is beyond me. The only thing that makes remotely any sense is if you only own a Nintendo then I could see how all those ports are any good

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

Judal27

5/10. None of the hardware features appealed to me in the slightest. None of the 3rd party ports do anything for me since there are literally better ways to experience those games. So all that was left was exclusives. The fromsoft game was confirmed to be a multi-player game so my interest has dropped utterly lol. Mario kart looks nice but the real kart racer star for me was Kirby Air Riders. And I hate the awful DK redesign and was hoping for a new 3d Mario instead so this one while cool didn't exactly wow me. So yea it was pretty timid. But that doesn't mean my fire emblems and xenoblades aren't coming in the future so I look forward to that

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition?

Judal27

Still not really far in but now having got a taste of skell gameplay, id say it's an 8.5 to a 9 so far. The story is interesting, characters are decent. Music is great if a little repetitive. Combat is as fun as ever. I will say I'm not that keen on the enemy variety. I feel like I see the same spiders or apes over and over all around the map just with different names. Exploration also gets a little repetitive but I'm having fun marking off the map. I just wish the yellow squares on the map actually led to decent loot. It's a really solid game, I'm loving it a lot

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (29th March)

Judal27

Some more MH Wilds, I think I'm finally at the endgame. And I don't think the game has been as easy as it was made out to be. LR for sure but HR had just the right amount of difficulty and open ended-ness which I loved. Can't wait to really start messing with decos and gear and for TU1 to finally arrive

And also more Xenoblade X. Finally got my skell. I love this game so much. It can get a little overwhelming with the huge amount of quests it throws at you, most of it filler. But it's been fun riding around Mira and completing them. Fighting and leveling up. Doing the story which has still been so interesting. And just filling out the map and clearing out all the objectives. Music is getting a little repetitive now. But what's been there has been great. I hope to hear some new tracks tho

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)

Judal27

Still on MH Wilds. About to reach HR 30 and doing every optional quest I see. I don't mind how linear the story was but HR is way more fun with how open ended it is. Seeing an unknown icon running around the map and heading towards it yo see what it could be is so fun

And now that it's officially out, Xenoblade X DE. I'm on Ch.5, I'm loving the story and characters so far. Nothing amazing but it beats the start of XC3. The Sawano music during the world building cutscenes was fantastic and peak anime lol. I'm determined to get to my skell this weekend

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Switch) - An Underrated Gem Transforms Into The Series' Best

Judal27

@themightyant @BTB20 I checked too early cause it was at a 90 and even then it's not far off from it atm. So it could go up as more come in which is crazy for what literally was considered the black sheep of the family before DE was even announced. And not just by reviewers literally fans of the series. I still remember so much of the criticisms thrown at it. But now its a misunderstood masterpiece lol. Tho I've never played the original so I can't say how significant these gameplay and story changes are, it should still largely be the same game

Either way I'm loving it so far. I've wanted to play it for ages now even after all the things I'd heard about it

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th March)

Judal27

On ps5, Monster Hunter Wilds. Just started high rank and the forest looks absolutely gorgeous. I love this game so much

On pc, I'm playing Xenoblade X Definitive Edition. (Couldn't wait lol) So far I'm loving it

These 2 games are probably going to keep me busy for a good chunk of the year. And I'm fine with it cause they're 2 of my favorite series

Re: Poll: What's The Best Xenoblade Game? Rate Your Favourite For Our Upcoming Ranking

Judal27

Xenoblade 1 is a 10. Gorgeous world and music, combat is fun. The story is very engrossing and the characters are great. Oh yea and pretty great voice acting

Xenoblade 2 is maybe an 8 or a 9. Vastly improved locations and exploration even with the annoying gacha implementation. Combat is even more interesting and fun. The story is pretty weak especially in the beginning but when it hits towards the end, it hits hard. And the ost is phenomenal

Xenoblade 3 is probably my least liked out of any Xeno game I've played in general and is probably a 6 to 7. I can recognize that it's a well made game. But the story is so underwhelming, the characters are easily the weakest, the locations are a downgrade. Most of the music wasnt memorable and for some reason combat just felt more tedious here. Maybe it was the way it placed so much importance on chain attacks but they take years to finish.

I'm looking forward to starting the dlcs and additional contents for all three main games and eagerly await XCX

Re: Talking Point: Just How Damaging Is This Big Pokémon Leak?

Judal27

It's shown me that the dev writers clearly want to be a lot more closer with pokemon than to just catch and battle with them lmao

As for the new game. I find it hilarious the leaker is saying he isn't gonna leak anything of it then proceeds to do just that but in small bites. Hes the obnoxious attention seeking type alright

Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?

Judal27

I would normally say i prefer TotK mainly cause overall it has more than BotW and makes BotW look and feel even more like a tech demo than it already felt. But because I played BotW first, a lot of it just felt too samey and ultimately felt repetitive faster. So I ended up not even finishing TotK and I haven't gotten the motivation to continue it since the month it dropped

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 30th)

Judal27

Didn't think I was gonna spend the end of 2023 on my switch but here I am still going with SMT V lol. I'm in the final stretch. And it's been a pretty great experience overall. I just wish it wasn't so held back by the switch. The 3rd and last areas have been absolute headaches to run around in. And the story is once again underdeveloped

Other than that great gameplay, exploring can be fun, music is mostly very good, demon designs are as great as ever

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 16th)

Judal27

Dusted off the switch to give SMTV a try since it was $20. So far so good. The gameplay is good old smt/persona fun. I'm really liking how explorable the world is atm. It has the most verticality, and just big areas that aren't hallways, in an atlus game to date it seems. But camera, framerate, and resolution are pretty iffy so sometimes it feels like a headache going through the ruined buildings to find stuff

Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2023' Stats Are Available Now

Judal27

2 games for a total of 120 hours
TotK: 102 hrs
Monster Hunter GU: 17 hrs

Not bad I was expecting way lower cause I rarely use my switch. But MHGU is definitely getting way more hours in next year once I really get into the meat of the game. Can't wait especially since MH Wilds is getting closer and closer

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Judal27

No where near done with it but it's being put on hold indefinitely cause FFXVI is coming out in literally just a few days

The plan was to keep going until FF released but the demo blew me away so much so that I haven't felt like playing anything at all. Just been watching vids on FFXVI since the demo dropped. But once I'm done with it I'll probably come back to finish Zelda

Re: Zelda: TOTK Playtimes Start To Appear, And Some People Haven't Been Getting A Lot Of Sleep

Judal27

45 hours. I said I was gonna rush to 100% so I can be free for FFXVI but it seems my version of rushing is different if people are already hitting 60+ hours with multiple dungeons done lmao

Ive literally only done like 30 shrines, and lit up a bit of the underground. I managed to find the Hero's Clothes I wanted tho so now I can play the rest of the game in the iconic green clothes he used to wear back in the good old days

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Judal27

Still pretty early but so far a solid 8. I'm having great fun, a lot more than I ever did with BotW and honestly this is what that game should've been from the start. It's insane to see people complimenting TotK by saying it makes BotW look like a tech demo. Almost like the people that didn't love BotW have been saying that for years lol. It was nothing more than a glorified tech demo. It makes me wish I hadn't played BotW at all so I could enjoy TotK that much more. As it is, Im enjoying the TotK parts of TotK a lot, but the BotW retreads I'm less enthusiastic about
