Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch

Judal27

@RiasGremory 1 singular rom is not worth 20. Capcom knows this, square knows this, hell even sega and konami know this. Even the most egregious example being the megaman bn collection that got a bit of flak for being 60. Still included every version of the games that were split, new unlockables, and added online. And now goes on sale for the same exact $20 so often it might as well be its actual retail price. This 1 singular rom literally doesn't even have multiple languages to choose from, you have to buy it separately. It does not have online play, and as far as the description on the eshop goes, has added absolutely nothing else to it besides a function for Home. But yes I agree your examples are just as much of a scam

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 5 Pokémon?

Judal27

Personally many of the designs are ugly but I still loved this gen so much. It was an incredible experience. And it has my 2nd favorite legendary reshiram so thats my pick lol. There's just something majestic about it and it's shiny form is subtle but adds so much to an already amazing design

Re: 13 Switch Emulators Hit By Latest Wave Of Nintendo Takedowns

Judal27

Genuinely doesn't matter when they're already out there

And I always get a kick out of people making this a moral fight. As long as we have the files of the game stored in our pcs able to be played at any time, that's literally preservation. Couldn't care less if that's correct or unjust, piracy, legal or illegal especially in the age where youre literally being told ur renting a license, not buying a game lol. They're being preserved on my pc and that's what matters to me. Being able to do it for recent games, still being sold, does not change that. But already there's more than enough reason to do so, seeing as people have been begging for switch 2 patches for the xenoblade games when they've been playable at higher frames and resolution thru emulators for a while now lol

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (14th February)

Judal27

Nioh 3, I adore this game so much. It's open world absolutely works and each time I find a new area I look forward to exploring just as much as I do the combat. Finding the maze like level designs of 1 and 2 while out exploring cemented that I knew I was gonna love this game

I'm also playing MH Stories 1 alongside. The demo for 3 really got me excited to finally get into this series, having had this 1st game in my backlog for years lol. So far you can really tell it's a 3ds game 😂. But it's really fun. Just taking my sweet time completing quests, hatching new mons, and progressing the game

And last, still slowly but surely chugging away at DK Bananza. I feel like im about halfway done but I can't say for sure. This new layer I'm in has a really fun level gimmick tho so I'm enjoying it a lot

Re: Preview: Dizzying Detail, Fluctuating Frames - A Good Look At 'Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection'

Judal27

@Pillowpants that it doesn't have the convenience of digital while having almost none of the boons of physical beyond being able to pass it on. And while that's a plus, it's not one that people who have an issue with key cards in the 1st place can really take advantage of. So in a way, a key card has no positives whatsoever. Basically that there's a lot of reason to not go physical when it comes to key cards anymore and that it makes sense if someone says they'll buy a digital copy, be it from any of the 4 platforms, cause the game is a key card

Re: Preview: Dizzying Detail, Fluctuating Frames - A Good Look At 'Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection'

Judal27

@Pillowpants I doubt the vast majority, if not all, of the people that have an issue with key cards are looking to sell them in the 1st place. The issues stem from being a fake physical that functions more like a digital copy but without its convenience. It requires an internet download to even function the 1st time and for any time you have to redownload it, and takes up storage regardless vs an actual cartridge

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations

Judal27

Genuinely how is selling faster than your previous game not meeting your expectations, get a grip Sega or don't use paramount ips

As for the whole sonic vs mario. I've actually been enjoying mkw more than I was in the beginning. But between it, sonic and kirby. Sonic crossworlds is still easily my favorite one. Drifting just does not feel as good in mario kart. I hate the long arch it does while in sonic it's quick and snappy. Tracks are more fun, the music is so underrated but being able to race with songs from the series is legendary

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (31st January)

Judal27

Mopping up side quests in the original Trails in the Sky before continuing on chapter 3. Im pretty close to the end it seems and its been every bit of a masterpiece that Zero was, idk which I like more

Also making progress in the Nioh 3 demo. The series has not let me down and so far between the demos, 3 isn't stopping that trend. I'm very excited to see the full games open areas. Still not super keen on splitting up samurai and ninja but I'm getting used to it

And lastly making more progress in DK Bananza. I've now 100%'d around 8 layers. And my opinion mostly remains the same, it's so good when it wants to be smart about how you go getting bananas. But for a lot of them, it goes the Odyssey route and simply puts them in easy spots with not much platforming, puzzle solving, and just having an actual objective to get to it beyond smashing rocks for literally the millionth time lol

Re: Japanese Charts: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Emerges Victorious In A Quiet Week

Judal27

@JTurner it hasnt sold out in Japan and you can see it in this very chart that shows you how much stock is left so they also didnt make too little physical

And this comparison between the ps5 and switch 2 versions is very flawed when you consider just how many factors the ps5 version had going against it. Some which you have pointed out in your 2nd post, but is still downplaying the huge difference in installbases. The ps5 version also went on to get a new edition thats priced similarly to the switch 2 version and sold a further 14k+, which in this weeks chart, would place it at number 1 too. As far as i can tell from the internet, japan still favors physical for nintendo, so personally these sales are ok at best. The switch 2 had the bigger potential to sell more and ended up selling 3k more than a port that sold for $60 to a significantly smaller base, that had other ways to access intergrade beyond just straight up buying the ps5 port

Re: Nintendo Switch 2025 'Year In Review' Is Available Now

Judal27

Lol 68 hours and most of it coming from pokemon unite. It was honestly just collecting dust for ages now. This year tho will have way more time as I've already put in hours into Bananza and gonna keep going. I plan to get Air Riders and if it's as good as the original I will be putting an ungodly amount of hours into that 😂. I'm gonna play some Mario kart here and there. Finish off Totk for good. And im hoping to do a replay of Mario Odyssey and finish more routes in FE 3 Houses. All that should put my Switch 2 to good use for the year not counting upcoming titles like the next FE if it turns out as good as 3H

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (10th January)

Judal27

I picked up DK Bananza early in the week and so far I've been enjoying it a lot and also getting overwhelmed by it. Now that I'm on the 2nd layer tho, I have a better understanding of what to look for. But in the 1st layer I spent a huge amount of time just smashing rocks thinking there might be something to collect lol. I am really loving this game, the few areas I've been look gorgeous and finding bananas can be really fun especially the really well hidden ones. Music's decent so far. Honestly I really look forward to getting further in. But so far it also feels like it has the same issues Odyssey had. When the bananas are put in fun challenges or hidden areas, it's awesome. But so far many of them are just sorta there, I think I've got like 70 of them now and a good chunk of those have been found at random with no puzzles, no challenge or anything. I'm hoping that's just cause it's early game still. Either way I look forward to making progress

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th December)

Judal27

Got a hefty target gift card as a present and since I already had a good amount of leftovers just sitting in my account, I just went and bought a switch 2 lol. In a way the fomo for prices got to me but yea I got the mkw bundle

Tried mkw out and so far I can't get too into it but I think that's cuz I have 200 hrs in sonic racing. The controls feel super off, and the open world is pretty but I'm just mindlessly driving around until I find a p switch. This definitely feels like a play for 10 mins a day type of game. Honestly I was a bit bummed how awful totk looks without the patch. It looks even more blurry and pixelated than on switch 1. So I bought the patch and it's a pretty significant change. I mean the world still has the ugly fog covering it but the resolution and 60 fps makes it so much better. Still baffling how awful the game looked without the paid patch tho. And lastly I tried out the bananza demo and that is 100% gonna be my next purchase. Keep going back to it just to smash things:P

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th December)

Judal27

Continuing on Tales of Graces F, the game has opened up a lot now with plenty of events and side stuff to find in older areas. I love the writing and combat so it's been fun exploring every single thing

And I also restarted Sonic Frontiers. When i 1st played this I wasn't really in the mood to play games, so I think it negatively affected my view on the game and also never finished it. But on this 2nd try, things are going so differently I'm shocked lol. It's such a wonderful game. I adore all the mini platforming segments sprawling around this open free zone to run around in when i used to think they were randomly thrown all around the map with no rhythm. And it helps that sonic actually feels great to control. I remember feeling like it had some jank to it but this time I don't feel it at all. Great music as usual, tons of collectibles, fun open areas to explore. Stages are short but sweet. Combat has also been fun with plenty of options. Easily one of my favorite modern Sonic games

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)

Judal27

Finished Kirby and the Forgotten Land. There are fun great moments but then there are some stages that tend to be overly long but the gameplay is too repetitive for that, so it tends to drag. It's also kinda too easy, only the true final boss poses any real challenge. But abilities are awesome, and it has a variety of neat little things to do which I like. And it managed to sate my hunger for a platformer lol

And I also started up Tales of Graces F. Been wanting to play this one forever and it does not disappoint. Absolutely love the characters and the dialogue. Story starts off pretty troupey but there's never a dull moment yet at least. And the style of the game is gorgeous

Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me

Judal27

It being kart racers with battling items, I expect and want tons of chaos. Mario kart is fun in very short bursts made slightly longer when I play with friends, but it is the most vanilla kart racer I've ever played and seen. And no where near enough people give it flak for making being 1st place, the most boring experience ever. All you ever get while in 1st is coins, and the very rare occasional banana, green shell, or 1 mushroom

Crossworlds in comparison is pure chaos in most of the right ways. It can get a little annoying if ur hit with like 3 items back to back. But that goes for anyone and there's a ton of different fun options to circumvent that, and as you learn the tracks they become easier to avoid. It just feels faster, more strategic, and competitive. The only other kart racer that had a similar feel for me was Kirby air ride lol. Here's hoping air riders follows

Re: Anniversary: Celebrate Unova As Pokémon Black & White Turns 15

Judal27

A remake would be cool if done right but they haven't been doing them right such as BDSP so yea... Not to mention that part of what made B&W so good was the neat use of 2.5D for the graphics of the game. It'd basically lose that charm being fully 3d now unless they make some kind of HD2D remake like Squares doing

Re: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Charges Onto Switch 2 In 2026

Judal27

Not feeling the character designs yet again but they're certainly a step above Engages. And with it seemingly being connected to 3H, then I'm sure I can expect the story and writing to not take a backseat like in Engage too. Definitely looking forward to seeing more

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Judal27

I do not have a single bit of FOMO for not owning one yet which I did have for the original Switch. So i guess that tells you what I think of the 4 meager exclusives out so far, and the 3rd parties I can or have already played elsewhere and are key cards. Just waiting on FE and whatever Monolith cooks be it Xenoblade or new IP

Re: Poll: So, Did You Order A Nintendo Switch 2?

Judal27

Nope another Nintendo console launch that just feels like an afterthought. The only other being wii u. But at least in this case I'm mildly interested in upgrading my switch. So maybe at some point down the line with the inevitable revision, I'll consider it

Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

Judal27

How much do they take off for having stick drift on the left joy con that is purely Nintendos fault?

I wasn't planning on getting a 2 any time soon if at all but if I could trade in my switch plus some controllers I never use, maybe it'll be worth an upgrade at whatever reduced price that is. Assuming I can just casually walk into a gamestop to do it. I'm not gonna be rushing and struggling to pre order one

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (19th April)

Judal27

Finally playing The Last of Us for the 1st time. Idk why it took me so long but it's been pretty good so far. One of my favorite implementations of stealth gameplay. Never too slow but you also don't breeze past clickers, making it all pointless. The story's been a little cliche but the character interactions have been great

And more Xenoblade X. Took me a while but got to ch.9, what a chapter 8 was. I'm really liking the story beats but getting to the actual story means going thru a bunch of side quests, affinity missions, and fighting a bunch of mobs to level up. It can be pretty exhausting at times. But when it clicks, it clicks. I'm still enjoying it and can't wait to get further into the story

Re: Mario Kart World's 'Free Roam' Is Much More Than Mindless Open World Driving

Judal27

By this logic no open world is just mindless running or driving or swimming or flying around, man. There's always something to do in any of them. But mindlessly driving around pressing switches and collecting coins does not scream $80 lol. I'm shocked they showed almost nothing else to do in its open world

Wake me up when Kirby Air Riders gets a trailer. I'm sure even if it's not open world. It'd still make way more use of its city trial map than whatever this was

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

Judal27

@Zuljaras you mean the little check that happens right when you actually click on the app to play? I'm definitely not a fan of that yea. Especially cause I forgot to set my switch to primary console one time, and it literally wouldn't let me play even my switch 1 cartridges offline lol. I can't imagine how frustrating this will be with these game key cards 😂
