@JaxonH that last statement from your 1st paragraph is such a double standard way of thinking though. Apparently 10/10s can exist because it's not judgment from a technical level and it doesn't mean its a perfect game, yet 0/10s aren't allowed because suddenly it is a score based on the technicality of the game and it means the game is unplayable. If someone can rate a flawed game a 10/10 because it was based on their enjoyment with the game, then someone else should be able to rate a working game a 0/10 because they may have found literally 0 enjoyment out of said game.
But that's besides the point, if someone is blatantly admitting they're only posting 10s because of the 0s or just talking about the review bombing instead of talking about the game they scored, then they were literally bothered by the fact that it was getting 0s. And there literally are 10s on there saying these things instead of actually reviewing the game. Also no, the last time I used metacritic was when I made one to rate nioh a 10/10 lol. I'm just more surprised that metacritic would actually do something for once but instead of trying to make a fair score, they decided to just delete the 0s. And again, meanwhile other games like the SMT series are still bombed. But no one's throwing fits for that cause at this point metacritic is a joke of a system.
@JaxonH right cause these 10/10 reviews claiming they're only there to counter the 0s or talking about the butthurt sony fanboys, totally aren't salty enough to actually post fake 10s as well. Clearly their reviews were on topic about the game at hand and totally deserve to stay posted.
Let it be known that Nintendo fanboys got so butthurt over a number they managed to get metacritic off their lazy asses and only remove 0s, meanwhile almost all SMT games are still review bombed and probably won't change lol.
I'm hoping for more JRPGs to show up sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I'll complete Metroid and maybe breath of fire. And I'll fiddle around in mario, Zelda, and Yoshi.
I'm playing through final fantasy adventure and I'm still in love with it as I was back then. I'm so glad I got the collection of mana physically cause it's a great collection. Just wish it had the other games as well.
@ricklongo oh wow I didn't even see that post on push square. But nah, I still think it's whichever sells most 1st week, stays the best selling version. Another example for both platforms is super robot wars on PS4 and chocobos mystery dungeon on switch.
All the trailers I've seen, but I'm still not convinced on getting it. It still just looks like any other platinum games action game. That doesn't necessarily make it bad especially since their games play really good most of the time. But it doesn't look interesting enough for me to want to play it over Bayonetta or Nier Automata.
@ricklongo which chart did you see for dqb2 sales cause I saw it sell most on switch from the start.
And from what I've seen, which ever sold most 1st week, will almost always sell better from then on. Kill la kill, the Atelier games, and that doa game come to mind for PS4, while that olympics game and Attack on Titan 2 sold more on switch and remained that way the following weeks.
Yea i tried the demo, but I'm holding off on purchasing the full game until we get a definite answer on whether or not the extra content goes on other platforms. It's too blurry and pixelated. So many things pop in and out of the screen. You have to be really close to any object you want to see or else it'll fade away. So you can't stand far away and marvel at some of the scenery. I don't think I want to play this game with so many drawbacks so I'm going to be playing so many other games, that I'm hoping by the time I'm done, we get answer about the other platforms.
As for the game itself, it was an absolute blast. One annoying thing is how slow the camera is even though I have it set to 10. Also when you're running but need to turn, the mc goes extremely slow. But I like turn based combat so that was fun. I really liked the design of heliodor (I just wish I can experience it in all its full HD glory sometime in the future) and overall just seems like a solid JRPG.
@Ludovsky That's the thing though. Why is it a rumour? I don't think any company including Ninty have had an issue with a statement being made on whether they helped fund a project or not. Like with Bayonetta 2 and 3. They could have said whether Ninty helped with funds on this version the moment they were asked if the extra content is going to other platforms.
@Ludovsky I know it's not a guaranteed thing and I'm definitely expecting it to release in 1 to 2 years time if ever at all. But the possibility is most certainly still there based on Square's own words. They could have said the usual "we currently have no plans" and that would have easily spelled out not coming. But they said they were currently undecided. The fact that they even have a choice to decide tells me they can definitely bring this stuff over despite being published by Ninty here. But of course, there is also the possibility that they have already come to a decision to not bring it over and have yet to tell us. Either way I'm still going to wait for a definite answer cause I really would like to experience this game in the best possible form.
@Lando_ No monitor, unfortunately. Just a regular old flat screen TV. But I'm not sure what kind. I figured I'd have to upgrade if I want to make it look as clear as possible but it's kinda annoying especially since I don't have to do this with my PS4.
@BlackenedHalo I'd imagine it's going to differ from person to person. There are people that are saying they had some framedrops but I haven't experienced that, yet at least. So far it plays really good but looks really ugly to me.
Also, I just never liked the blurriness of these switch ports. People like the Bethesda ports but I find them very blurry.
Wow, I'm trying it out now. And it is very blurry and pixelated. The MC's face gets very pixelated to the point he almost looks like squall did in ff8 lol. And some things pop in and fade out it's a little irksome. At least textures don't take forever to come in like in XC2. I'll just wait a while to see if this extra content comes to other platforms, afterall they haven't downright denied this come with them saying they are undecided at the moment. But if not guess I'll have no choice but to deal with these issues and buy it on switch.
Meh, these tourney events would be a bit better if they'd do something similar to what smash 4 did or make it like a splatfest. All it's really doing is limiting the characters you can use. Even getting exclusive jpegs through spirit board events was better than this.
Since there doesn't seem to be a physical release then it's almost no different than emulating it so I'll stick with that for now. Not to mention this "HD" makeover makes it look really ugly.
I like regional versions of Pokemon but these looked terrible. I'm ok with the new pokemon and it's other form even if it's just the Pikachu copy. The rivals looked far more interesting than any of the characters shown thus far. Team yell is by far the stupidest "bad team" yet. Everything else still looks bland and ugly.
The game itself seems to already have better combat than botw so there's that. And despite the world looking interesting, I'm having a hard time believing it won't be a huge empty world like botw was especially with it being a mobile game too. Either way I'm keeping my eye on it. Poor PS4.
Oh man, I have to decide whether I want to play this with a broken controller or pass on it for now till I can get a new controller, then wait more to finally get the game.
Of course this won't be too much of an issue if I can get my joy cons fixed on time so here's hoping cause this looks like another great fire emblem. It's a shame I spoiled myself on certain cutscenes cause this seems like it'll be a wild ride and would've loved to see those cutscenes through playing the game itself.
Lmao this problem really brought out all the shills that are so afraid of any criticism their precious company gets.
At this point there really isn't much of a reason for this to be said, but my joy cons have experienced drift about a month or 2 after I got my switch. All my other consoles' controllers have been working perfectly except I had to buy another PS4 controller recently after having it for 3 years now. I'm happy I'll be able to get to use the joy cons again without having to paying a single penny to have them repaired.
But I also agree that they needed to do more. They need to actually fix the problem so if anyone wants to buy joy cons in the future, they won't have to live in fear that they'll drift so soon after purchase.
The only ones that interest me are fire emblem and panzer dragoon. Astral chain and daemon x Machina are in between getting it or pass. They both look a little on the boring side. Quite frankly, the majority of the games platinum games makes, play the same. They get very repetitive. And DxM was honestly boring to play but it was a demo so I want to reserve judgment for now.
Every 3rd party there, I already have and/or I'm getting it on my PS4.
@graysoncharles Except you know full well not every person that is criticizing the game is doing it the same way as each other. Not to mention the same amount of people defending the game claiming that we're whining, that we're selfish and entitled. They're acting as though we want the games to not exist anymore when what we want is a far better product from a company that makes millions times more money than most other companies. It's not one sided.
It doesn't matter if we're not being forced to buy it. They are still advertising this product to us, the consumers, to give judgment and decide whether we want it or not. Whether you like how people pass their judgment is an entirely different matter, but critiques are warranted especially when they claim they couldn't get all pokemon to work on improving the graphics and animation, then proceed to show us graphics that look generations behind with animations like NPCs still moving like robots, and you've probably seen all the other stuff as well like Charizard shooting fire out the side of his head, etc.
Yea, they are a really small company that doesn't rake in anywhere near the amount of cash gamefreak does. I'd rather they work on making their games the best they can possibly be.
And it's sad to see that devs have to make positive statements about the switch and/or port their games to it or else they're branded as "switch haters." It's pathetic.
@graysoncharles Just cause there are far worse problems doesn't mean we shouldn't be criticizing this. It is our right as consumers being sold a product. By the logic you guys are using, I could tell you to not waste $60 on a kid's game and instead give it to things that really matter like charity. So, we can very well criticize this game and Gamefreak has most certainly given us plenty to criticize.
Meh, with how much the Witcher 3 poured into its $20 dollar expansion, I'll never ever see these types of dlc as worth it. A few characters and some missions isn't worth $20 when the Witcher practically gives you a whole other game through blood and wine alone for the same price.
Same reason I never bothered with BotW's dlc which was mainly just a bunch of items and "story" content that should've been in the game to begin with.
@Henmii yeah, that's the sad reality. But the good thing is that this is literally just a worse product so I have no need to change my switch to a lite. If they had announced a "pro" version then I would have become worried that they'd make a few games exclusive to the pro switch like what they did with new 3ds.
The pirate warriors games are by far the best musou games out there. Although Persona 5 Scramble could top pirate warriors 3 if it includes characters from past persona games. My 2 characters that I want are most likely going to be in anyways but I still hope we get confirmation of Reiju and Katakuri making it in.
@Galenmereth whether the designs of the Pokemon are good or not has nothing to do with whether or not what they are doing with this game was worth removing content. I've also played all their games aside from XY, and the ruby/sapphire remakes. And none of them have ever added things to make the games feel different from one another. Again, it's alot like cod and fifa where they give you a different place and fight different things but you do it in a very similar way as the past titles. I highly doubt this will be the game to break the formula they've been doing since the beginning.
@JaxonH your 2nd paragraph could have been true if not for the fact that a lot of the posts next to the ones I mentioned were also downvoted a lot. I highly doubt people just happened to miss the 1st post of all things as well. And in your 1st paragraph, you're basically saying what I just said. The downvoted posts came off in a negative way despite still saying the same thing as the 1st post and #13. It's that simple.
@uximal I'd imagine they'd do it similarly to Labyrinth of Refrain. Not everyone was really into the way the map worked there, but it did its job well enough in my opinion. But, they could also tweak it a bit. Either way I'm definitely excited for the next etrian.
@JaxonH Of course it's a straight forward post. When I say came off, i'm not saying they had some hidden meaning to their words. But even a straight forward post can have a negative or positive tone. Again, they probably didn't intend for it to come off the way it did, but clearly it was the former if they got many downvotes as opposed to the 2 posts I mentioned who also share similar straight forward thinking. Which you've yet to answer as to why they didn't receive the same amount of downvotes.
I never backtracked, you misunderstood my post as me talking about the money Atlus makes, when I was talking about how Atlus is already using resources to make games for switch and will continue to do so.
The 2nd paragraph of my 2nd post was about the people misunderstanding the article as Atlus being in a rough patch for the net loss when they explained why and then went on to say their recent games have exceeded expectations. And it was also about the ones that thought they deserve to be in financial problems because of 1 game.
@Galenmereth I don't understand how you could even think about it as a change rather than a removal of content. Are you so certain they'll add anything of note that could have potential cost the time to add in all pokemon? Cause based on their track record, I'm certain they won't. They already revealed one of this game's gimmicks. And it's literally just a resized battle. This is exactly like the PlayStation pr guy on the removal of content for censorship, where he said if every game was the same why buy the next.
Nobody is saying they should hire tons of people to the point that each section of the team is in disagreement on the development of the game. Gamefreak is clearly saying they are struggling to "update" the graphics while also adding in all the other mons. Hiring more help for either side of these 2 would almost certainly help the game instead of hinder them.
There's no reason a development team that makes more or less than $10 million with each installment, should have less staff members than Monolith that just barely managed to get a game to sell 2 million copies, other than greed. Be it from gamefreak, the pokemon company, or nintendo.
@graysoncharles but I think they are reading comments. Maybe not this site but they are reading the comments on the internet hence why they thought to even make this silly statement in the 1st place.
@JaxonH That has no correlation to what I said at all. Not to mention it's wrong, otherwise these so called "fanboys" would have downvoted the 1st post and post #13 just as much as the post you brought up, as these posts are clearly for Atlus to support the Switch. But they're not as downvoted. Why is that? Clearly it had something to do with how post #8 (a some other posts as well) came off and not just cause they disagree with the post entirely.
@Galenmereth When companies like Monolith Soft want to hire more people to put out better games, it really says a lot about gamefreak that makes almost $10 million with each installment and still chooses to remain understaffed and forced to make cuts to their game and then lies about why they had to make cuts to their games.
And it most certainly does sell just based on the brand. There are literally comments on this article saying they're disappointed with this and that they don't like this pr talk, but they'll still end up buying it. This is no different than the people who constantly buy the cod games and fifa.
@JaxonH you literally said "people were massively down voting Ralizah for hoping they make games for Switch", and "When a person downvotes a post saying “I want Atlus support on Switch.”
I'm telling you that person didn't say that at all. They said, "They'd make even more money if they actually put more resources into developing games for the Switch." I can't speak for anyone else, but my problem lies with: "if they actually put more resources into developing games for the Switch." They probably didn't mean any ill will, but it does come across that way.
You would have known that was my "issue" with it, if you'd even bothered to read the middle sentences of my 1st paragraph where I gave an example of how Atlus is already and is going to continue to put resources into making switch games.
And it's not just that comment and this website. There are other places where people seem to think Atlus doesn't want to or isn't supporting Nintendo enough and it mainly started showing up when a certain game stayed exclusive to another console. Again I ask why? Cause of that 1 game?
@Galenmereth no, Gamefreak is lazy and their argument fell flat the moment they brought up that they're not adding in all pokemon because they're "upgrading" the graphics. No indie dev can tell me they're anywhere near in the same situation as gamefreak. Because again, gamefreak isn't some indie dev. And with each installment, they've been making more money than the vast majority of indie devs do their entire time on the market. I would never believe gamefreak isn't capable of recruiting more people and taking the time to actually make a game with these so called "upgraded" graphics.
@JaxonH are you being serious right now? No where in my post even implies that that was where the "issue" lies. But you're right I'm not gonna argue with someone that couldn't even read my post correctly.
@JaxonH that's not what it says at all. They're saying atlus would make money if they actually spent resources on making games for the switch almost as if implying they aren't or won't. 2 of their 3 long running franchises are prominent on Nintendo. It's almost certain there will be another Etrian game and that it will be on switch as an exclusive along with smtv. It makes me wonder how anyone can believe atlus isn't supporting Nintendo enough and that they should start using resources on switch as if they weren't.
Then there's some comments acting as though they're struggling (when it literally says sales for their recent games exceeded goals) and some claiming they deserve to struggle and for what? Because they didn't port over 1 game? This just paints switch owners in a bad light.
@Galenmereth @coolaggro it's almost as if people want to play with their old pokemon in a new region to "explore", following a "new" plotline, battling against new pokemon, while simultaneously raising their old pokemon with new pokemon if they'll even keep features from the past games like feeding and grooming.
This is the same exact thing almost all developers say when trying to save face after receiving backlash. It's a load of BS. And doesn't this basically confirm that they won't or can't add pokemon through updates? Gamefreak is literally one of the most incompetent developers I've ever seen. So much for pouring their hearts into this.
They took out pokemon because apparently they're working on "upgrading" the graphics. Yet the "open world" area looks like it came straight out of an N64 game. It's completely pathetic that a franchise that sell millions looks far worse than countless other jrpgs with way smaller budgets yet we're supposed to believe they're upgrading them?
Apparently they butchered Charlotte in the translation. So I'll definitely wait for a huge sale since I can play this for free and with a better translation at any point in time
The corgi has a terrible color scheme making it look a little weird. And the imp just looks downright stupid. For now I'll just stick with wooloo and corviknight.
@Jokerwolf I still think it's ridiculous considering we're talking about pixel sprites. It's still work yes, but they're not exactly full 3d models like the new super Mario Bros style. Not to mention this sequel has so far just been about adding on top of the 1st one. Even if it's a small team, they're not working from scratch like with the 1st game.

Re: Nihon Falcom Lacks The Ability To Release More Games On Switch, Says President
Re: We've Re-Translated That Pokémon Sword and Shield Interview Quote
@graysoncharles Just cause there are far worse problems doesn't mean we shouldn't be criticizing this. It is our right as consumers being sold a product. By the logic you guys are using, I could tell you to not waste $60 on a kid's game and instead give it to things that really matter like charity. So, we can very well criticize this game and Gamefreak has most certainly given us plenty to criticize.
Re: The DLC Packs For Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Won't Be Sold Individually
Meh, with how much the Witcher 3 poured into its $20 dollar expansion, I'll never ever see these types of dlc as worth it. A few characters and some missions isn't worth $20 when the Witcher practically gives you a whole other game through blood and wine alone for the same price.
Same reason I never bothered with BotW's dlc which was mainly just a bunch of items and "story" content that should've been in the game to begin with.
Re: Video: Latest Japanese Sword And Shield Commerical Shows New Pokémon In Action
Charizard isn't even shooting the flame from his mouth. I'm seriously wondering if gamefreak is even trying at this point.
Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed, Launches This September
@Henmii yeah, that's the sad reality. But the good thing is that this is literally just a worse product so I have no need to change my switch to a lite. If they had announced a "pro" version then I would have become worried that they'd make a few games exclusive to the pro switch like what they did with new 3ds.
Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed, Launches This September
This trailer was hilarious. It was all, "let me show you all the features we removed."
Re: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Sails Onto Nintendo Switch Next Year
The pirate warriors games are by far the best musou games out there. Although Persona 5 Scramble could top pirate warriors 3 if it includes characters from past persona games. My 2 characters that I want are most likely going to be in anyways but I still hope we get confirmation of Reiju and Katakuri making it in.
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Statement About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Statement About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Statement About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Statement About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
@JaxonH are you being serious right now? No where in my post even implies that that was where the "issue" lies. But you're right I'm not gonna argue with someone that couldn't even read my post correctly.
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Statement About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
@Galenmereth @coolaggro it's almost as if people want to play with their old pokemon in a new region to "explore", following a "new" plotline, battling against new pokemon, while simultaneously raising their old pokemon with new pokemon if they'll even keep features from the past games like feeding and grooming.
Re: Atlus Exceeded Its Sales Target For The Previous Fiscal Year, Despite Net Loss Of 904 Million Yen
@LunarFlame17 they are. Smtv is still going to switch. And I bet the next etrian will also go on switch.
It's great to see atlus happy with the sales of all those games. Can't wait to see p5 royal help boost these sales up too.
Re: Junichi Masuda Releases Official Message About Limiting Sword And Shield's Pokédex
Re: Soapbox: Why Sword And Shield's Pokémon Purge Will Benefit Everyone
They took out pokemon because apparently they're working on "upgrading" the graphics. Yet the "open world" area looks like it came straight out of an N64 game. It's completely pathetic that a franchise that sell millions looks far worse than countless other jrpgs with way smaller budgets yet we're supposed to believe they're upgrading them?
Re: Review: Collection of Mana - Expensive, But Ultimately Worth Every Penny
Apparently they butchered Charlotte in the translation. So I'll definitely wait for a huge sale since I can play this for free and with a better translation at any point in time
Re: Nintendo E3 Demo Reveals Brand New Pokémon For Sword And Shield
The corgi has a terrible color scheme making it look a little weird. And the imp just looks downright stupid. For now I'll just stick with wooloo and corviknight.
Re: Super Mario Maker 2 Will Let You Play Online With Friends After Update, Nintendo Confirms
