Finally dusted off the switch since who knows how long it's been since I used it. Gonna be playing through Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Still can't believe they ok'd all of these characters designs but I still managed to thoroughly enjoy xb2 despite how awful rex was so I'm sure I'll get thru 3 just fine. Looking forward to see how it all concludes

Skellige did have way too many in comparison to the rest of the world but i still had such a great time going through it especially the quests which is what Witcher 3 is obviously known for excelling in

As for botw, its definitely more empty with a lot less meaningful stuff to do. And the people going botw has you finding things more organically, lol. You'd have to be entranced by the completely redundant and often useless mechanics like "oh you can make winds by burning grass!" "holding a flame sword in the cold makes your temp go down", to not see that exploring by spotting obvious out of the ordinary things like a group of trees in between masses of empty lands, a rock on top of a hill, etc. becomes extremely repetitive itself no different than going through a checklist. Especially when the reward for even doing any of that is utterly meaningless which is one of botw's biggest problems. BotW is literally "See that mountain of there? You can climb it, but there's absolutely nothing there." The "journey" itself wasn't anything rewarding that's for sure and definitely gets repetitive but the reward itself wastes my time too? Geez... But maybe this isn't the place to ramble about how massively overrated botw is lol

I don't think I want another look at the characters. They're really ugly this time especially the orange scarf dude lol. Its a shame some of those 7th party member heroes have some decent designs but you can only choose 1

The weakest engage the enemy track yet but still sounds really good. And I imagine it'll sound even better with the set pieces it'll be used with. Looking forward to that. Seeing uraya like that hurts tho

Looks good but pretty repetitive tbh. So long as the music is just as good. But too bad you'll still have to run around the whole 100+ hours as those awful character designs

@Bailey5000 I looked forward to that one but I dunno. The game play loop itself looks very repetitive. And I'd rather not buy what looks like a prototype game. If they're gonna use what they made in legends Arceus, and build and improve upon it. Then I'd probably be better off waiting for that game instead. And I'm hoping this upcoming gen finally churns out that game

I'm glad most other companies haven't tried to copy it, at least not yet. Personally I find it downright ugly especially in Octopath. While the DQ3 remake looks pretty good so far at least, it's still a shame that Square's the one who seems to be going all in on this style

I'd have to say the pirate warriors games are the best. One piece and Zelda are two of my favorite franchises but for some reason I couldn't get into the Zelda musous while I adore the pirate warriors series. The 1st Zelda warriors was pretty fun but gets mundane fast and all the little objectives everywhere don't serve to give the game more variety. It's just downright tedious to do. Pirate warriors is more of the usual straight forward gameplay but the maps kinda go by fast so it never gets too repetitive too quickly and the characters are just a ton of fun to control

Lol it's permanently available to download. But I've played a little bit of it just because it's a port on a 3ds of all things. But it's awful. Still keeping it cause it cost me nothing except storage space I guess

I really hope you can stay in those duo transformations for as long as possible so I don't have to look at the dude with the orange scarf. Can't believe that's a design that's come out of the xeno series. And it sounds like I'm playing this with Japanese dub again

Urayas insides were quite beautiful. Sad to see it wounded by a sword that's pretty damn ugly lol

I can't really be disappointed when they've shown almost nothing from the game so far and what little they did show just looked like more of the 1st game which I'm not really fond of

I thought gen 8's starters already looked hilariously bad enough but somehow they surpassed them. Idk what it is but the lighting and colors of the world just stand out a little more than gen 8's so that's good I guess

Also they showed off the hanging clothes moving as if there was a breeze yet the trees are all static lmao

So hyped especially since the dude said it's gonna tie the worlds of both blade 1 and 2 together. But dear lord, these are some of the blandest character designs I've ever seen. I thought it was a knockoff Xenoblade game at 1st before realizing, it's an actual Xenoblade

Probably Zelda 2. It feels very aimless, I don't like the 2d side scrolling especially for a Zelda game, and the art is ugly as sin

But BotW is pretty much just as much of a disappointment

Definitely fire emblem, and hopefully as a collection with path of radiance one day. Almost every single fire emblem deserves a second chance

Never would've guessed at the time, that it would be the last good 3d Zelda game I'd play until skyward swords rerelease

Nice, links awakening remake shouldve also had the ugly art style as a con. And so should the advance wars remake so that maybe theres a sliver of a chance that they stop with these ugly toy designs

@Kr96 Yea I know, I played nocturne and IV and enjoyed them a lot but I was hoping V would give you more of a reason to go through the barren wastelands for 100+ hours so I'm not really in a rush to drop $60 on it anytime soon

Also I've heard one of the early smts had a good story, but I can't remember if it was 1 or 2. Either way I'm playing them both cause it's a very fun series. All it needs is an actual story and characters to go along with it

Not anytime soon, from what I've read, it seems like it'll yet again have an extremely barebones story with the blandest characters imaginable. I'll probably play all the earlier smts and persona 6 by the time I actually get to this game. Hopefully it'll be on sale by then cause the demons and combat itself look fantastic

Not hard to do when you take into account all the factors against the original release like needing that stupid motion plus thing that prevented me from buying all these years, and releasing at the end of the Wiis lifespan

Only reason I bought it was cause Ive never played it and being a huge Zelda fan, I was dying for a new Zelda game that actually played like a Zelda. But I don't regret spending $50 on it like I did the $60 for BotW, it was great

Honestly I was just using this for the free 1 week trials of NSO. They were handing them out like every other week but it's been a while since the last one. Was hoping to use Sora online but I'm not paying ninty for the awful service

@Bizzyb I mean he came with 2 of the best songs in the entire game and was then remedied with sephiroths inclusion which added even more of the best songs in the game

Meanwhile 2 of KHs songs are from the gummi ship missions in a series that has some of the best boss fight tracks ever lol. Weird omissions I guess

Kinda disappointing tbh, the music list is underwhelming. There are far better songs in the series than those. And I'm not feeling Sora's slow and floaty combat. I'll have to play some more to get a better feel though

Despite not really being in love with Ultimate, I bought both fighter passes cause this is most definitely going to be the last game for a long while that'll have all these characters in one game

Sakurai himself already said not to expect the next smash bros, if it'll happen, to have all these characters. So yeah, I'm willing to bet characters like Sora and Joker are a one time deal until the next "everybody's here"

The main things that interested me about the trailers were the roaming Pokemon and the little interactions they showed like how you catch them and them potentially hurting you even if their presentation was as usual downright atrocious for a company that makes millions

The landscapes they showed off tho were some of the most mundane id ever seen, so I don't really care if they're expansive areas like Xenoblade or an actual open world
