Re: Soapbox: It's Time To Normalise Giving Up On Games Early

Judal27

Can't speak for everyone, but i think that piece about not finishing BotW was surprising because iirc you said you were literally right there at the entrance to the final boss and you just didn't fight it? It was just odd cause you were already there lol. And not really about it being not normal to finish games. And there shouldn't be any need to "normalize" it anyway. You paid with your money so do whatever you want with the game. Play it for 1 hour, finish the whole game or just keep it sealed on your shelf for all i care

Personally i try to do everything possible in a game to get my money's worth. Most times i can chug through tedious parts and do everything possible. But if not, I'm satisfied with at least finishing the main game. I dont think I've ever played a game so bad that i couldn't bring myself to play it anymore. Any game i stopped playing was most likely just cause another game caught my interest at the time

Re: Video: Pokémon Fan "Fixes" Diamond And Pearl Remakes With This Slick Concept Trailer

Judal27

@TheLightSpirit they couldn't possibly make a game like that whether they were working on legends or not. They're incompetent

@Dr_Lugae lmao they didn't even have traditional catching mechanics. They're spin offs. Although pokemon games at that time still had more heart put into it than they do now. The gamecube games were a glimpse at what it would actually be like to have fully realized 3d pokemon game. I'd imagine if they were put to work on a mainline game, it'd be something else. But i didn't know about the staff movement. What a waste, shame.

And iirc their dungeons definitely had interactivity on the same level as mainline games. Baby puzzles like figuring out which switch opens what. Not only that the towns still had secrets hidden around them.

Re: Feature: The 10 Best SNES RPGs

Judal27

Seiken densetsu 3 is a million times better than secret of mana. Hell, final fantasy adventure is million times better than secret of mana. Too bad its a gameboy game

Re: Atlus Wants To Know What Games You Want Ported To Switch

Judal27

@Kr96 I'm not saying it sold poorly if that's what you mightve been thinking. Just that half of those sales were on ps4.

That ratio should definitely be more skewered in favor of switch considering SMT has been exclusive to ninty for a while now so it's fans are on ninty consoles. Nocturne is more newer for ninty fans, it got a Direct spotlight, and there's basically double the amount of switches out there than ps4 in japan

All of that and yet half of it's sales still came from ps4. I don't doubt SMTV will outsell this HD remaster but clearly SMT still has a fanbase on other platforms. And considering it's trying to get out of Persona's shadow, its definitely missing out when potentially half of it's playerbase won't be able to buy it

Also i find it ridiculous that Royal sales are considered underwhelming in japan when it kept pace with the ps4 version of P5. As you said, japan doesn't take too well with remasters. It makes no sense that a remaster selling almost as good as the original should be considered underwhelming unless sega's expectations are just super high

Re: Atlus Wants To Know What Games You Want Ported To Switch

Judal27

Great more port begging. Please atlus just port all your games on every platform.

Because if there's one series thats losing out on money being stuck on 1 platform, it's SMT. Considering Nocturne hd only sold 5k more on switch than on ps4, smt is losing more or less half of it's potential sales being exclusive and that's not even counting pc

Re: Introducing Pokémon Legends: Arceus, An Open-World Prequel To Diamond And Pearl

Judal27

@Kirgo funny cause this very article starts off with a guy being cautious about a series that's let him down and another guy calls him entitled for thinking sword and shield are bad games lmao

Oh and another 1 where we're called haters and to stop "hating" for not showering gf in praise over finally getting their **** together for once even if just a little

And another guy saying we're absolutely hopeless for criticizing early footage when that didn't change the fact that final sword and shield footage looked exactly the same as early footage lol and there's nothing wrong with pointing out the bad stuff in a trailer that you might be wary of

Re: Introducing Pokémon Legends: Arceus, An Open-World Prequel To Diamond And Pearl

Judal27

This still looks like complete crap from a company that makes millions. Where does all the money go from all the milking that was in the beginning of this direct?

That said this is still a bigger step in the right direction than lets go and Sw/Sh ever were. The way they were catching pokemon was something out of my dreams. I will definitely keep an eye on this

Re: Sakurai To Host Pyra/Mythra Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Presentation Next Week

Judal27

Even tho i wanted more xenoblade and not smash, i still ended up buying the 2nd pass because of this reveal (altho i still find it hypocritical how this is seemingly getting off lighter despite still being censorship)

Also I really like how half of the dlc characters have been JRPG characters from games that I've enjoyed lmao. I know it'll get some people mad, but i still hope one of the last 2 characters is another JRPG one

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Sells Out In Japan Following Pyra and Mythra's Smash Announcement

Judal27

Better late than never i guess. Id much rather see this top charts than that abomination of a JRPG known as pokemon. Its probably the one switch game that made me think "boy am I glad I got a switch"

That said, it's still very much one of the weaker xeno games. The 1st xenoblade is better in almost every way except the location designs. XB2 has gorgeous locations when you can actually see it through the low resolution

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Tops "Best Seller" Chart On Amazon, As Pre-Orders Sell Out

Judal27

This was the only thing that really caught my attention in that bore of a direct and that's because I've never played it and I'm really itching for a new actual zelda experience after the sour taste BotW left in my mouth

But that pricing is a huge rip off so i won't be buying it right away if at all. So i guess I'll just continue to pirate their 3ds games, and see if any of their switch games go down in price. But if it doesn't oh well, I'm used to my switch collecting dust anyway

Edit: oh yeah ill likely even be able to sell my switch at full price or more in the future, considering ninty fans are ok with being ripped off lmao

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2021 Nintendo Direct

Judal27

@COVIDberry lmao actually i wasn't expecting anything at all. I only hoped to see a tease from monolith's next work which is why that very 1st trailer is such a letdown, and a bit more of smtv

I was surprised by the decent amount of JRPG advertising, it's just a shame not much of it is has me particularly excited and/or is coming to other platforms so I'd play elsewhere

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2021 Nintendo Direct

Judal27

As a JRPG fan, this direct was pretty boring. I think I wouldve preferred an actual xenoblade 2 sequel like i thought it was at 1st over it just being a dlc for a fighting game i rarely play anymore

I'm not too optimistic about triangle strategy considering how generic or just downright bad the story and writing was in octopath. But the style of the game at least fits an SRPG better over an actual JRPG

Legend of mana was neat, can't wait to play a decades old game if it has a physical copy otherwise I'll emulate it

Oh yeah i forgot the most important thing, no smt 5. My most anticipated switch JRPG wasn't even mentioned or teased lol

Re: Video: Ahead Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2, We Discuss What Makes The Original So Special

Judal27

As a huge zelda fan, BotW was a pretty huge disappointment. Combat is extremely basic and the weapon durability is horrible. Weapons are clearly made of plastic because they break so fast. And it's even more lame that most of the weapons enemies have are low tier weapons because the game also lacks a variety of enemies. You're almost always fighting bokoblins and reskins of them

Music is also extremely underwhelming with barely any for "ambience" and what little is there is horrible. The music when you fight mini bosses sounds like someone hitting random piano notes.

There's a lot more issues this game has, especially with how repetitive exploring gets and how little reward it gives for exploring, but even so the Zelda fan in me still hopes BotW 2 can fix the many mistakes it made despite it just looking more of the same. At least ganondorf looks way cooler now

Re: Capcom To Share "Brand-New Information" About Monster Hunter Rise This Month

Judal27

@JaxonH unfortunately can't call myself a big MH fan but I've played almost all the demos they've released for the series and loved them all. Just never got around to actually buying them for some reason lol. For sure World is another amazing entry into the series, i do plan to play it once Im done with all the 3ds games.

The trailers for rise have been amazing so far. It looks really nice and clean but that's what I thought about the DQ11 trailers, but the demo didn't look nearly the same. All the scenery fading in and out, from trees and barrels to the actual textures and windows on houses depending on how close you were to it, really put me off the switch version. That doesn't happen on the PS4 version of S

Everything else looks so good though, that i don't see myself not ever playing it, be it switch or pc or any other place. I'm really hoping khezu and gigginox get the update treatment. Its a shame they didn't for world

Re: Capcom To Share "Brand-New Information" About Monster Hunter Rise This Month

Judal27

@JaxonH the leaks are pretty much why I'm not holding my breath. But i don't mind holding off for a pretty long while considering I've got about four games worth of MH to get through on 3ds. And still haven't even played MHW plus the expansion

Im gonna need to try the demo to see for myself how it looks cause I just don't like how pixelated and blurry games look on switch. It's why I never bought DQ11 on it cause I played the demo on both switch and ps4 and the improvements were very noticeable. At least with the 3ds games, theyre on a pure handheld thats extremely weak compared to switch by default. If by then, nothing's announced or talked about ill just get it on switch. That's what i bought the switch for. For any and all exclusives that interest me

Plus Rise looks like another amazing MH. I hope the demo has hidden monsters to fight aside from the 3 hunts like the demos for MHW

Re: Capcom To Share "Brand-New Information" About Monster Hunter Rise This Month

Judal27

Haven't touched my switch since like the beginning of the year. Can't wait to dust it off to try the demo. I recently hacked my 3ds and have been going through MH3U, it's been amazing.

But with Rise and stories 2 coming to pc, im gonna hold off on purchasing the game to see where it'll land. I'm hoping it might land on ps5 eventually but i won't hold my breath

Re: Nintendo Wants To Know Whether You Prefer 2D Or 3D Zelda Games

Judal27

I love both but lean a little more towards 3d just because they actually try more in telling an engaging story to go along with the fun puzzle solving in intricate dungeons and exploring the overworld

Too bad BotW barely has any semblance of what made those 3d games fun so I've been dying to play another good 3d zelda since TP , but I hope 2 makes up for it. Ganon in the trailer lit a small fire of hope in me

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #56 - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Judal27

The Japanese one is an explosion of characters all over the place and not in a good way. Take out the crowd at the bottom and maybe it'll be passable. It makes sense why they were put, but it's hardly relevant and just makes it so messy

And that actually leaves more space for the more important characters hiding in the corners of the map

Re: Monolith Soft Took Care To Avoid Impacting Its New Game While Working On Xenoblade Remaster

Judal27

@BlackenedHalo I don't hate it, I just think it's one of the weaker xeno titles. And that's mainly due to the story being very generic especially during the 1st half where it's tropes and cliches straight out of a shounen like fairy tail.

There's issues with it's gameplay mechanics as well but overall, I still liked it enough for it to be one of my favorite games on the switch so far. But the superior XC1 is almost out anyway lol

Re: How Well Do You Know The Legend Of Zelda?

Judal27

10/10. It's the only acceptable outcome when Zelda is one of my favorite series of all time

Gotta be honest though, I guessed on that last one lol. I remember seeing his last name before but it isn't like I'm gonna go out of my way to remember something so unimportant

Re: Japanese Charts: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Surpasses 4 Million Boxed Sales In Japan Alone

Judal27

What's hilarious is that people think 3.5 million in 3 days is bad when they even made a post about it to celebrate. And the number is only going to grow lmao. Doesn't matter how big you thought the hype was, JRPGs don't sell like crazy especially in Japan of all places. The only ones that do that there is dragon quest and pokemon

JRPGs have been doing so much better in recent times, but they'll likely never attract the casuals that go buy Fifa and animal crossing in droves
