Re: Capcom Reportedly Adds Two New Members To Its Mega Man Dev Team

@SirCarbs As long as we get pixel graphics I would be equally as happy for either the classic sprites and style from the 8-bit or 16-bit eras, or brand new pixel art.

Mega Man 11 is a great game, I’ve just never been a fan of 2D gameplay with 3D graphics, something just feels a little off for me.

Europe wins this one for me. The US and JP boxes are cute, but I I like that the background art of the European box is consistent with the Wario in the front, and shows off more of what the game is about.

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate For Paper Mario: TTYD On Switch?

JoakimZ

My opinion is the same for this as it was for Tales of Symphonia and Pikmin 1 and 2; releasing ”remasters” of 20 year old games, running at half the framerate of the original versions is totally unacceptable and an absolute dealbreaker for me.

It makes these releases feel like cheap cashgrabs with not enough love and work put into them.

I normally love remasters, it’s great for game preservation and to make modern adjustments to games that can sometimes feel a little outdated, but it need to be done properly.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (SNES)

The NA and EU covers should not have been lumped together for this one. The european version have those iconic Konami silver boxes that they used for a lot of their NES and SNES titles, which makes the EU box superior over the NA box

I had this game as a kid and I really loved it back then. I even prefered it to Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I haven’t played it for probably 25 years tho, so I don’t know if it holds up today 🐢

@JohnnyMind ”considering it would be on the same system as the original”

No systems were named in this listing. It could still be Switch exclusive as you say, but it could also be an enhanced version for Xbox/Playstation and not coming to Switch, or it could even be for Switch 2 for all we know. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Re: Talking Point: Which Other Mega Man Games Could Come To Switch?

JoakimZ

Don’t forget about the Game Boy games! One can mistake them for NES ports, but they are completely stand alone titles only borrowing robot masters and some music from the NES games.

Especially Mega Man 3-5 on Game Boy are wonderful games!

Maybe they could release a ”Mega Man Portable Collection” or something?

One such collection could include some or all of these;

  • Mega Man 1-5 (Game Boy)
  • Mega Man (Game Gear)
  • Mega Man & Bass (GBA)
  • Mega Man Powered Up (PSP)
  • Rockman & Forte: Mirai kara no chousencha (WonderSwan)
  • Rockman Battle & Fighters (NeoGeo Pocket Color)
  • Mega Man Xtreme 1&2 (GBC)
  • Maverick Hunter X (PSP)
  • Battlechip Challenge (GBA)
  • Rockman EXE WS (WonderSwan Color)

And they could throw in a translated SNES version of Mega Man & Bass as a bonus, since it’s much better than the zoomed in GBA version.

Re: Retro-Bit Gaming Reveals A Game Boy Player-Inspired GameCube Controller

JoakimZ

@Bunkerneath It did not come with the Gameboy player, though. It was a separate purchase, and I think it was only released in japan. I imported one of those back when they were new, and I wish they would have gone with a different button layout, because the GC layout is horrible for Gameboy games. At least the d-pad was way better than the tiny one on the GC controller.
