@Wormold This is a port of a game that were released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2014. And it had multiplayer on those console. So this is a port of a five year old game, that is missing key features, quite embarrasing...

I love Ubi’s open-world games! Especially Far Cry, both 4 and 5 are some of my favourite games from current generation. Haven’t played New Dawn yet, but looking forward to it

I hope Switch will get some Far Cry games too.

I’m playing Monster Hunter World on Xbox One X, and The Messenger on Switch.

@Scollurio It is a different game. DOOM 64 was an original game, not a port.

Interesting that Doom 1 and 3 made the list, but not Doom 2.

Interesting that it is an 8 button arcade stick, when Neo Geo only has 4 buttons.
I wonder if this means it will be compatible as a controller with other consoles or PC, or if it will include built in arcade games from other companies... or maybe the extra buttons can be used for combinations of other buttons, like one button is A+B, one is B+C etc.

Edit: also, I hate how they don’t use the original Neo Geo button laytout for the ABCD buttons...

@retro_player_22 That is no proof at all, since Inti has nothing to do with the publishing of this collection, it is solely up to Capcom which systems this is released on.

Mixed feelings here. The game collections for this thing seems fantastic, but the system itself looks terrible...

Played this on Xbox a couple of years ago. Fun game, I enjoyed it

Isn’t the original Super Monkey Ball for Gamecube pretty much the only game in the series that anybody actually liked? Weird choice to go with Banana Blitz instead of that one.

@CapricornDavid I love musou games, and I have played A LOT of them, and I do think that HW is indeed the best one.

I get the feeling it will be DOOM related since they were talking about the 25th anniversary of that game. Maybe the original DOOM and DOOM II are coming to Switch?

AC3 tho... I played it on the 360 back in 2012, and I remember getting through it felt like a chore.

Yes, achievements makes me get more out of games on Xbox, and I would love to see achievements on Nintendos platforms. Unlocking achievements feels good, and there’s few things as satifying as unlocking 100% of the achievements in a game.

I’m looking forward to this, especially Bloodlines which I’ve never played before. I hope there will be a Castlevania Anniversary Collection part 2 with more Castlevania goodness.

I was a bit intrigued until I remembered that the 3DS isn’t region free.

Is the Switch version handled by Machine Games themselves or is it ported by someone else, like Panic Button?

I hope the Switch version sells well since it seems like a very well made port that is utilising the functions of the Switch in a great way, and so that Ubisoft wants to release more Assassin’s Creed goodness on Switch.
... I just wish that it wasn’t AC3, because that is frankly a pretty boring entry in the series, and now I’m afraid that many Nintendo players are gonna pick this up as their first AC game, and judge the series based on this.

@AlphaElite I think Assassin’s Creed 1 is much better than 3. I’ve played most games in the series, and for me AC3 is the second worst, after Bloodlines. I haven’t played Unity, tho, and many seem to hate that one so I suppose that could be worse than 3 also.

I played Sniper Elite 3 on Xbox One a couple of years ago, and I really enjoyed it. Great fun!

I’ve never played V2, but the setting looks pretty dull in comparison. But as long as the gameplay is fun, it should be good too.

Looking into my crystal ball, I see a near future where Capcom has just announced DMC HD Collection for Switch. Europe is getting it digital only, while North America is getting a physical copy with only DMC 1 on card and a download voucher for 2 and 3.

@Neofan99 No Guilty Gear games were released on Neo Geo. The original was a PS1 exclusive. The sequel, Guilty Gear X, came out on Dreamcast, PS2 and in the arcades, but on the Naomi platform, not Neo Geo.

I much prefer the look of the GBA/DS versions. I will get this collection nontheless, probably for Xbox One.
I hope there will be a second collection with Apollo, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice.

I’ve just started playing Far Cry 5 on Xbox One X. Seems very good so far.

@WaveBoy It seems to depend on the game, I’ve never had any problems with lag/latency on the 2D platformers I’ve used it for. However, one time I didn’t bother to change controller when I switched over from Owlboy to Monster Hunter GU (I usually use my Pro Controller for 3D games). And the latency was crazy, probably like half a second or more!
I tried switching over to the Pro Controller, and it was fine again, switched back to the SF30Pro and th latency was back. As an experiment, I tried starting Monster Hunter with the SF30Pro a couple of times more, and the latency was always there, and always really bad. But like I said, that is the only game where I’ve noticed latency with that controller, and that is a game where I rather use the Pro Controller to begin with.

@BenGrimm No, the 8bitdo controllers do not support amiibo.
I wouldn’t recommend getting an 8bitdo controller INSTEAD of a Pro Controller, but I absolutely recommend getting one ASWELL as a Pro Controller, because they are good for different types of games.
The Pro Controller is fantastic for 3D games, probably one of the best. But because of it’s very poor d-pad, it’s not very good for 2D games. That is why I think it is essential to also have an 8bitdo controller, because there are TONS of fantastic 2D platformers for Switch.

@Cobalt The crappy d-pad of the pro controller combined with the many, many excellent 2D platformers on Switch makes an 8bitdo controller pretty much essential. I have an SF30Pro and I am very happy with it.

@NicolausCamp Agreed, and also the Wii games usually look a little bit better when played on a Wii U. So yeah, definitely Wii U > Wii.

We got a lot of Warriors games on Switch now, and I hope we’ll also get a port of Samurai Warriors 4.

I can’t see how this is something to be upset about. If they kept these elements they would have had to change the rating of the entire game just for the sake of a few DLC tables. And seriously, are you really going to enjoy the game any less because of a couple of missing cigars and beer cans?

Huh, it’s only 12 different characters now? I’m pretty sure they’ve said that there would be characters from 12 different shows, and since each announced show so far has more than one character, the character total should be way more than 12.

Wow, I have to get this on Xbox! And maybe Switch if it gets a physical release in english.

@menzo1986 There is no chance the gameplay will be as good as Mario Kart. This is a budget title made by a company most known for shovelware, so quality and gameplay wise, this won’t be anywhere near Mario Kart. There’s still a chance this will be a decent, good and fun kart racer and I really look forward to trying it out, but if you’re expecting the same quality as Mario Kart you’re gonna be very disappointed.

The graphics look pretty terrible, but that’s not the most important thing at the end of the day. I love TMNT and kart racing games, so I’m looking forward to trying this out. At least it can’t be worse than All-Star Fruit Racing...

I’m not very fond of the arcade version of Rygar. I love the NES version on the other hand, and i really hope to see a remaster or remake of that one day.

I hope 2 and 3 will also find their way to Switch, eventually.

@judaspete None of these game have been announced for the 40th Anniversary Collection. I think the collection will consist of pre-Neo Geo titles only.
But I totally agree that most of these games have better sequels, and the only two games I would recommend buying from this sale are Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown. Unless someone is going for a complete ACA NEOGEO collection on their Switch.

Why didn’t they just port over KOF XIV instead of this sexist BS game

I really didn’t like Bastion, the presentation (especially the narrator) and gameplay just didn’t click with me.

I’m glad they waited until all expansions are released, I will definitely get this since Shovel Knight is one of my favourite games ever
