Re: Looks Like Nintendo's Familiar Red And White Branding Is Back For Good

HopeNForever

Nintendo of America have been releasing every Wii U Mario game in red cases since late 2013, and then there's the new retail displays that have been appearing among major U.S. retailers since September 2015: http://nintendonews.com/news/general/retailers-display-classic-red-nintendo-logo-banners/

It seems Nintendo are indeed gradually prepping for a new branding for the upcoming generation.

Re: The Nintendo DSi Shop Shuts Down Next Year

HopeNForever

The vast majority of DSiWare titles are already available on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS, but I think some people are gonna miss those very few apps that didn't make it yet. Additionally, the people who still use the Nintendo DSi (XL) console and haven't upgraded yet to the next generation for some reason are gonna lose out by then. I knew a few of those people!

Losing the original Nintendo DSi Shop means losing out on the very few apps that featured fun stuff even the Nintendo 3DS family actually lacks!

I doubt Nintendo may plan to close the Wii Shop Channel anytime soon, as it is still functional on Wii U consoles, and WiiWare games are still stuck to it for the time being. Not to mention the much bigger library of older Wii Virtual Console titles is also tied to the Wii Shop Channel.

Re: Video: Here's How Much Those Data Packs for Xenoblade Chronicles X Speed Things Up

HopeNForever

I am not sure why these data packs are such a big deal, considering PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners have to install much larger data bases for some of their newer games on the consoles' native hard disks. And although these consoles offer so much space in comparison, they sorta use it up so quickly!

One of the strengths of the Wii U, Nintendo's eight generation console, is that people can still play games directly from disc-reading rather than installing huge chunks of base data, and of course, as useful as those data packs are for Xenoblade Chronicles X, they are still completely optional!

Re: Nintendo Expecting Mobile Business To Eclipse Wii And DS Era Profits In Three Years

HopeNForever

Eight languages could be the usual European five (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish) as well as Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. 100 countries could refer to all the territories that have major support from both the App Store and Google Play.

In regards to the bold claims by Nintendo's new president and CEO, I really do believe Nintendo can do its best to grasp at so much financial stability from its mobile business in the coming years, if at least not reach to Wii and Nintendo DS levels of success. People often forget that Nintendo isn't some small company, and has been around for more than a century and a quarter!

Re: Totaka's Song is in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

HopeNForever

Whilst it hasn't been proven that "Totaka's Song" is available on every game the sound designer worked on, it should become pretty standard for the song to appear in every major Animal Crossing title considering it is one of K.K. Slider's usual songs, and we all know what his Japanese name とたけけ (Totakeke) is based on you-know-who.

Re: Pokémon Shuffle Rolls Out on iOS in North America and Europe

HopeNForever

I just tried this app on my super-outdated iPhone 4, which is still technically superior to the Nintendo 3DS, and the app's animations are freakishly sluggish! I'm still sticking to the Nintendo 3DS version for many other reasons though, chief among them is how far I managed to progress. I cannot believe the Great Ball cost 3500 coins in the iOS version, instead of 2500 coins like on the Nintendo 3DS! Additionally, why is the audio so terrible on the iOS version?

Re: Feature: The Unexpected Legacy of Wii Music

HopeNForever

I managed to snag a copy of Wii Music from a bargain bin just a couple of years ago. I didn't know what to expect at the time, but I heard good things about this game, as well as disappointing things.

While I am not tone deaf, I do have issues making good music, despite having supposedly mainstream software for such a task - I totally stink at it! But the game was a breath of fresh air in its approach towards anyone being able to play music. Whilst it is not really the same, I admit, I could not help but enjoy my moments playing around with most game modes at my own leisure without much thought to it. The game even helped me understand a bit of music theory. Okay, so I still am terrible with making my own music, but I would gladly take on Wii Music at any time.

Re: Terraria Is Coming To The 3DS And Wii U, But Not Until Next Year

HopeNForever

What's with 505 Games releasing games on Nintendo's consoles without any online support whatsoever?! The Nintendo 3DS version's online multiplayer should be integral to the experience. I am suspicious of the fact there is no Nintendo Network logo on that Wii U cover.

In addition, will there be a cross-save support for both versions?

Re: Anniversary: The Virtual Boy Is 20 Years Old Today

HopeNForever

For some reason, I always felt the Virtual Boy's 3D depth of field is actually a lot better than the Nintendo 3DS. I wonder if this has to do with the fact that the console has specialised eye visors, whilst the Nintendo 3DS simply depends on a parallax screen technology, which is not as effective for a visually "popping" 3D effect.

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55

Upon reading the title, it took my mind several minutes to process this statement out of the shock. Oh my gosh!

For me, this is beyond mind-boggling, and I am thinking what will happen to the company in the long run. Great condolences to his family though. May he rest in peace.
