Re: Eiji Aonuma Explains Why Tingle is Such a Peculiar Character

HopeNForever

Wasn't it already established that Tingle is into women when the character shown some interest in the equally odd Pinkle from Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland? Although, to be fair, she did look a little masculine, and her outfit works nicely for a drag queen. Still, she was a woman all right.

Re: Curve Studios Talks About The Future Of The Hydroventure Series

HopeNForever

I personally got both instalments of Fluidity, albeit I technically did not buy either one - managed to get them during periodic Club Nintendo give-aways. I really enjoyed both titles, but I would not have been aware of it and how awesome it is if Nintendo hasn't originally released a demo version of the first game on WiiWare.

Re: Video: Shigeru Miyamoto Outlines Online Sharing and Rankings for Mario Maker Creations

HopeNForever

Am I the only person bothered by the fact that iJustine acted like a typical Xbox/PlayStation gamer getting all giddy about notable Nintendo products that she should know about as a gaming journalist? Quite frankly, I even question her journalistic credibility especially since some of her questions towards a busy man like Miyamoto felt very trivial. We may have gotten a few good points, but it still does not change the fact it was a horridly performed interview.

I suspect this interview wouldn't have happened if Nintendo didn't make such a huge mind-blowing impression at the recent Game Awards ceremony.

Re: The New Nintendo 3DS Doesn't Come With An Internet Filter In Australia

HopeNForever

@mr12calvin You would be able to login the same Nintendo Network ID account you have just fine on the new console if you successfully did the System Transfer correctly in the System Settings, and the new console will also be able to read all the games and save files you have on your SD card, even if you transferred all data from a regular SD card to a Micro one, as long as you managed the System Transfer to the new console.

By the way, I just learned from someone that apparently the New Nintendo 3DS cannot be registered on Club Nintendo, either manually (like on older consoles) or digitally (like on the Wii U). I don't know if the situation would be different in the European release, but for now people cannot register the console on Club Nintendo anyway, not in Australia or Japan.

Re: Video: GameStop Shows How It Faked 'Karissa the Destroyer' at Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Event

HopeNForever

Huh! A gaming retail chain can do stuff like that? I have not heard of such things before.

@seb5049 You do realise the ESRB rated this game as E10+ for North American audiences, which made the the ten-year-old girl legitimately eligible to play this game, and be featured on a solicited company's video, if she was actually "playing" it. Of course, there are many people who do not usually care for age ratings, but age ratings should be there anyway as it is legally required in many countries now.

Re: The 3DS Proves to Be a Popular Music Player in Japan

HopeNForever

In the earlier days with my Nintendo 3DS, I used to use it a lot like a portable music player. Unfortunately, I cannot place too many MP3 files on my SD card nowadays as I need more space for downloadable games and apps, since I'm now starting to purchase more of them overtime.

Re: The New Nintendo 3DS Doesn't Come With An Internet Filter In Australia

HopeNForever

@mr12calvin Flipnote Studio 3D is an eShop app that remains Japan-exclusive to this day, and releasing the New Nintendo 3DS will not affect that. If the app were to be available, it would have been available for ALL Nintendo 3DS owners anyway.

Any Nintendo hardware released in Australia is technically completely identical to any Nintendo hardware released in Europe. This is why games bought in either regions are cross-compatible, and both regions share the same eShop and Nintendo Network servers. If you happen to buy a console from Australia, and change its country settings to the Netherlands, it will work as normally as any console bought locally (language settings to Dutch should be there as well). The only real difference between buying from Europe and Australia is the packaging, where the console serial codes and Club Nintendo PINs are not cross-region compatible unfortunately. You might also have problems with the official customer service support in that department if need be, as your Australian-console would legally be an 'import', despite compatibility.

Re: "The Sky Is The Limit" For amiibo, As Nintendo Considers Future Third-Party And Indie Support

HopeNForever

I'm thinking there could still be a chance Ubisoft may actually have their own amiibo support for some of their older titles such as Rayman Legends, just like how it was demonstrated in the 2012 leaked concept trailer for the game! If applying amiibo support for older titles just require an update patch, then it could actually be done, and the Wii U version of the game can become unique once again, if not exclusive.

Re: Eon Ticket StreetPass Relay Announced for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire in the UK

HopeNForever

Why is this article hinting that the Eon Ticket is the only method of getting either legendary Eon Pokémon? This may have been the case in the original games, but now players can meet and capture a version exclusive Eon Pokémon via normal gameplay without any special items. This time around the Eon Ticket is only an in-game method of getting the other Eon Pokémon from the version exclusive.

Nintendo Life! Look at all the sad, confused oblivious people commenting here! I AM DISAPPOINT!

Re: Nintendo Confirms GameCube Controller Adapter Will Have More Use Than Just Super Smash Bros.

HopeNForever

@Sakura Twilight Princess was originally being developed for the GameCube, but apparently Nintendo left out any traces of the traditional control from the Wii version so that people were obliged to try out the newly released motion controls which drove the crazy sales of the Wii at the time. They even mirrored the whole game to make Link right-handed like the player majority. The controls were okay, but felt pretty much "thrown-in" in that case. I'm personally so glad I finished the GameCube version first - the game is so awesome, and I didn't want the awkward Wii Remote controls to ruin my first game experience.

Nintendo, however, tailored Skyward Sword specifically around Wii Remote and Nunchuk control handling, and also requiring Wii MotionPlus for the extra accuracy of movements (highly recommended to use a Wii Remote Plus instead of Wii MotionPlus attachment). When you play the game, you will realise how much different and intuitive it is from the controls of the Wii version of Twilight Princess. It takes a while to get used to it, but once you're there you will be loving the control style of this game!

Re: Nintendo Confirms GameCube Controller Adapter Will Have More Use Than Just Super Smash Bros.

HopeNForever

Since the current Virtual Console titles already support those traditional Wii/Wii U game pads, it is very likely they will all support the GameCube controller as well. This doesn't really indicate that Nintendo will re-release GameCube games soon, but it is a step in the right direction and we will be prepared for it.

@Sakura Nintendo developed The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to specifically work with the Wii MotionPlus technology and demonstrate its potential in a "hardcore" game, and it heavily depends on it. In fact, the gameplay style and set-up makes it impossible for the game to work with traditional controls.

Re: SEGA Announces Sand-Based Arcade Game, Probably Not Coming to Wii U

HopeNForever

Shame on you, Mr. Whitehead, for shamelessly plugging a totally off-topic article, about a new type of kids' Sega-made arcade cabinet that is never even leaving Japan, with a "probably not coming to Wii U" phrase.

If you wanted to express your love for Sega, and the sand-like substance that produces interactive wacky coloured lights, you could have honestly said so, and we would have forgiven you since the promo video looks so cute.

Re: Project CARS Wii U Delay Was To Ensure It's As Good As Other Versions, Says Dev

HopeNForever

I believe whatever delayed of the Wii U version prompted the developers to cancel the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions in favour of their respective successors, which actually are technically closer to a contemporary PC-like structural environment than their predecessors.

I'm no engineer, but I have a feeling the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are really ported from the PC version development, and easily optimised for each hardware, whilst the Wii U version remains a ground-up, independent development from the other versions, especially attributing to its more unique hardware elements like the GamePad. Also, keep in mind while the game is still coming to PC in November, it won't be SteamOS-ready yet, which was also delayed alongside the Wii U release.

Re: The Console Wars Live On As Night Trap Remake Team Holds a Grudge Against Nintendo

HopeNForever

I would never trust the mindset of a bunch of a development group who can simply misspell the title of the Mortal Kombat franchise - a really big series nowadays. They even called it "Nintendo's", which is weird considering Nintendo censored the first game, and Sega's Mortal Kombat ports were more popular, I believe. These people obviously haven't seen Miyamoto's Project Guard demo at E3 2014.

Re: Legendary Actor and Comedian Robin Williams Has Died at 63

HopeNForever

I was really stunned when the news broke. He was one the few actors I knew by name at a really early stage of my childhood, albeit I probably didn't know he was the Genie in Disney's Aladdin at the time, one of my favourite childhood films.

It's strange how our local movie channel suddenly changed their schedules as tribute to the man, only to broadcast his less prominent roles in the films Fathers' Day, The Fisher King, and Insomnia. Seriously!? There are far better films that represent the man's best works.

Re: Project CARS Limited Edition & Pre-Order Bonus Revealed

HopeNForever

@Kyloctopus Bandai Namco Games is not the legal publisher of this game, but rather the distribution partner. It really helps to have a big company like Bandai Namco assist you in getting your game all around, especially the European region, since they provide this service as well as to many other developers and small-time publishers based in the United States. If you read the FAQ, Slightly Mad Studios are self-publishing the game all right.

Re: Wii U Owners Finally Get The Nuketown 2025 Map For Call Of Duty: Black Ops II

HopeNForever

@eaglebob345 @Ootfan98 Actually, if you looked in the eShop hard enough, you'll notice that not a single Activision-published retail title is available on the eShop, not even their licensed games! In fact, Activision, and probably 505 Games as well, are the only two publishers who has not bothered releasing any retail game on the Nintendo eShop on either Wii U or even the Nintendo 3DS!
