Re: Huge Miitomo Update Promises Direct Messages, Room Customisation And Sidekick Miis

HopeNForever

Miitomo officially remains limited to only 20 countries thus far, whilst Nintendo Account/My Nintendo is available in 39 countries at this point. Although, keep in mind the app initially launched in only 16 countries, only increasing the roster with every big update.

Nintendo claims they are releasing Super Mario Run in over 150 countries this December, around the same time as the major Miitomo update. Additionally, Super Mario Run supposedly works with Nintendo Account, basically adding the same friend list as on Miitomo, and probably a little more than that.

I am wondering whether it is coincidence that December will see Nintendo expanding their mobile strategies into so many new territories, possibly even in countries not acknowledged on the Nintendo 3DS settings.

Re: Live-Action Pokémon Movie Talk Gains Momentum Following GO Success

HopeNForever

I'm not sure if any average joe can really pull off an actual live-action film based on Pokémon. I mean, did anyone ever make any working live-action films based on any even more "grown up" or "realistic" video game series before? In fact, has nobody learned anything from the horrific Pokémon Apokélypse parody trailer that was released a few years back?

Re: Head of Sonic Team Explains Why Dr. Robotnik Started Going by "Eggman"

HopeNForever

Although, they justified the name for Western audiences with the release of the original Sonic Adventure, solidified it further with Sonic Adventure 2 (which sort of retconned in the name "Robotnik" for the Japanese audience as well), and had since officially used "Dr. Eggman" as the character's name in English localisations onwards, I highly doubt those who grew up with the series will be able to fully accept the "Eggman" moniker, especially with the older games still using it, and not to mention that Archie Comics' writers phased in using both names in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics depending on the context, with the "Eggman" being pretty casually used.

Re: E3 2016: Hideki Kamiya Has "Spent A Lot Of Time" Thinking About Bayonetta 3

HopeNForever

Unfortunately, it is not necessarily up to PlatinumGames to decide when to make a proper sequel to Ōkami, since the IP is owned by Capcom. Likewise for the Bayonetta series, an IP technically owned by Sega. (Which is why adding the character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U as the likely consumer choice at the ballots, since the developers were already working with Sega.)

Re: SurveyMonkey Intelligence Breaks Down the Declining Usage of Miitomo

HopeNForever

I must admit, the app itself is really bare-bones in some aspects, but I'm personally still pretty active on it though, probably because I was lucky enough to find a lot of people using the app and they remaining active even to this day!

I guess the appeal of Miitomo is the same as the point of it - if you don't have a lot of friends using it with you, then the app won't work out for you. The best part of it that it is like a Facebook or a Twitter, away from both the real things!

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Shakes Up E3 With No NX and a Focus on Legend of Zelda

HopeNForever

Isn't anyone considering Nintendo might be trying to revive the Space World concept, also known as Nintendo World in later small iterations, traditionally held as a summer-based Nintendo reveal event? They unveiled the GameCube in Space World 2000 this way. So, who knows how Nintendo are going to approach revealing their next platform this year between July and December.

Re: The Super Famicom New 3DS XL Edition Has Amazing Box Art

For the people who never seen, or don't remember what the original Super Famicom console box art looked like, here is a photo of the original print:

Additionally, this isn't the first time Nintendo Co., Ltd. repeated the retro box art design. They also used it for the box art of the Club Nintendo-exclusive Super Famicom Classic Controller for the Wii:

Re: Rumour: More Claims Made For New Legend of Zelda on Wii U and NX, Gender Choice For Playable Character

HopeNForever

I personally find these rumours rather dubious. All these details feel like all the conjecture the English-speaking internet people has been incubating for years about prospective future Legend of Zelda titles. Pipe dreams which fans have been wishing for their favourite series to become, something which Nintendo isn't exactly known for.

Additionally, I cannot see a potential "Linkle" in this game. The Linkle from Hyrule Warriors (Legends) has a completely different combat style from Link, and Link himself has been quite a gender ambiguous pretty boy of sorts for a long time after the original release of Ocarina of Time. Many people still mistake him for a girl (although calling him "Zelda" is just an old ignorance.)

I really cannot see Nintendo actually pushing a budget for real voice acting, especially as they need to finish a game with extensive dialogue for multiple regions in multiple languages. I know Nintendo is no stranger to games with full voice-acting, like in the Star Fox series, Kid Icarus: Uprsing, and Code Name S.T.E.A.M. However, this is expected to be a huge title considering, and seeing Nintendo placing it in this game is so unlikely. They're not exactly like their colleagues at other AAA companies, after all.

Plus, I find it ridiculously nonsensical how easily so many people accept this title is getting a dual-platform release like another "Twilight Princess", especially as we know nothing about the upcoming codename NX platform and its technical architecture. It's like in 2011 when everyone thought Skyward Sword is coming to the Wii U just because Nintendo officially announced the console earlier that same year, and we all know this new Legend of Zelda title is being built from the ground up specifically for the Wii U hardware.

Re: Monolith Productions Job Listing Sparks NX Chatter

HopeNForever

"It's been a long time since this developer went anywhere near Nintendo hardware..."

Total understatement! The only time Monolith Productions ever made something for a Nintendo platform was the Game Boy Advance version of Tron 2.0, a licensed video game released in 2003.
