@Bret I guess I meant "another Direct"... the first was fine as an announcement... I don't remember the second... but now the movie is well known and releasing soon.
@KayFiOS Apple TV+ is a streaming service available on many/most hardware devices.
I am not a huge fan of Apple products and don't own any... but I do subscribe to Apple TV+ and they have a very high consistency of quality, despite not a ton of quantity.
@Hordak "Alternatively, the game does allow for solo players to experience it; you can use the left analogue stick to control one character, and the right to control the other, with the bumper buttons mapped to the other in-game mechanics."
I am so glad that the modern distribution system and marketplace allow games like this to exist. I will definitely check it out. And thanks Nintendo Life for making me aware of it.
Now... how do we get Unfinished Swan on the Switch?
The DS Lite was my first handheld since the Game Gear... great design. DS and 3DS were great for portability, but the resolution and controls diminished the experience.
The Switch is fantastic for home console quality in a portable device, but it's certainly not pocketable.
A device with the portability of 3DS and graphic power of Switch will be the pinnacle.
@TruthisRare I did also... except I don't think anything would ever have been Pro exclusive, would have decimated software sales... just Pro enhanced like the PS4 did.
And if we are at all correct, COVID definitely had something to do with it... Switch sales skyrocketed, software development slowed to a crawl, and parts became difficult to source... so we got the OLED model instead.
Ok... I'm intrigued. Although I would like to see the actual gameplay.
Something like this might have been awesome on WiiU with the Gamepad screen being an underwater view... or radar... something like Affordable Space Adventures.
Glad to see them expanding... I received Dig essentially for free as part of a Humble Bundle... had no interest in it, but played it and it was so great that I bought Heist.
SteamWorld Heist was also a wonderful surprise... and Dig 2 was also obviously great.
Would like to see a Heist 2, but not sure what they could do better.
@ZonaiResearcher Sending to Nintendo for repair is one option... but it is a hassle, you will be without your controller for a while, and it will likely break again over time.
If this really is a better part that essentially eliminates the problem... it is a better option for some people.
I love my Switch, but it's definitely time. I was pretty convinced that a Pro model was coming, but COVID issues plus a sales boom turned that into just the OLED upgrade.
If it's not backwards compatible, I will be stunned and will probably not buy one for a while.
I'd bet it will launch around the same time as Metroid Prime 4.
Highly doubt it will be announced until after BOTW2 releases.
@BrintaPap You can get a silicone cover with "bumps" on the back for less than $20... It makes the Switch far better to hold and it will still fit in most carrying cases.
I use one made by JEtech, but there are lots of options.
Now get rid of Blue Shells on the 3rd lap... And 3 Red Shells should probably not exist. Then remove the Blooper and the Plant and the game may be about perfect!
The only other change I have always thought would be good... if you have 10 coins, you can't get a coin from the Item Box, guarantee at least a banana.

Re: Review: Dredge - A Haunting Lovecraftian Fishing Sim That Reels You In
Demo was great... Bought the Deluxe edition at full price.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th March (North America)
Dredge is awesome... And should be in the Highlights.
Re: Review: Have A Nice Death - Delightfully Dark, Brutally Tough Roguelite Action
Not for me... but glad it's good.
Re: Hands On: Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! - A Warm, Cuddly Return (Except For The Space Invaders)
Interesting release... does seem more like a $20 download unless it is more extensive than it seems.
Too bad it doesn't include a collection of the old games?
Re: Best Deals And Cheapest Games In The 3DS & Wii U eShop Sales
The 3 SteamWorld games (Dig, Dig 2, Heist) are incredible and play great on 3DS.
Shovel Knight on WiiU for $6 is also great, but no one probably still plays WiiU.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch DLC
Delicious Last Course... DLC... get it?
Re: Countdown: Wii U eShop Spotlight - Year Walk
That is a shame... it is a very interesting game... my wife and I have played through it a few times with various friends and family.
Maybe it will get ported to Switch... but probably not.
Re: Mini Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 - The Brand-New Track Is An All-Time Great
"Visuals have received a much-needed boost"
Is this implying that previously released tracks have received a visual boost? Or just this pack?
Re: Stealth Platformer The Library Of Babel Sneaks Onto Switch Next Month
Looks really neat... reminds me of a lot of other enjoyable games.
Always a question of how well these ports will run on Switch.
Re: Review: Blanc - A Perfectly Pleasant Co-op Experience With Gorgeous Visuals
Charming art style, but the game is pretty simple and a little buggy. Not sorry I got it, but was hoping for better.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 Launches Next Week
Good News: I haven't played 4 of these
Bad News: 3 of them are from Tour
And DK Summit just seems like a worse version of Mount Wario.
Still... more MK8 tracks are always welcome.
Re: Countdown: Wii U eShop Spotlight - Star Fox Guard
It's unbelievable that this was included as a physical pack-in with Star Fox Zero.
Re: Video: Splatoon 3's Inkopolis Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & Wii U)
Yep... it looks better.
Re: Video: 3 Great Switch Games You Might Have Missed In February 2023
Blanc - Yes!
Onion Assault - Yes!
7 Days - Never heard of it...
Re: Nintendo Is Officially Skipping E3 2023
E3 was not necessary as soon as the internet became what it is... COVID was just the excuse to pull the plug.
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd February (North America)
Bit.Trip Collection is good to see... but still no Runner2 on Switch.
Re: EVO Reveals Its Fighting Roster For 2023
Smash was fun to watch... and Injustice... maybe SF is still fun.
Did I miss it, or does the article not mention the dates for this event?
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie Nintendo Direct Announced For 9th March, Will Debut 'Final Trailer'
@Bret I guess I meant "another Direct"... the first was fine as an announcement... I don't remember the second... but now the movie is well known and releasing soon.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie Nintendo Direct Announced For 9th March, Will Debut 'Final Trailer'
@Bunkerneath The vast majority of animated movies, and comedies, are about 90 minutes.
Yes, I wish it were longer... but it's quite normal.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie Nintendo Direct Announced For 9th March, Will Debut 'Final Trailer'
A Direct for a movie doesn't seem necessary? Unless there is a surprise game announcement??? Probably just a movie tie-in bundle...
And I never watch trailers for any movie... they are way too spoiler-y.

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th February (North America)
I got Blanc earlier this week... can't wait to play it.

Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison
@CazSonOfCaz If anything, the Steam Deck would be more motivation for Nintendo to release upgraded hardware.
If there ever was a Switch Pro planned, and it got scrapped, I would bet a lot that it was supply chain/manufacturing issues.
Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison
@HalBailman I never said that MP4 would have been ready in 2020/2021... just that it would have been Pro enhanced.
Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison
@TruthisRare If you think that not being able to go into the office/hq didn't de-rail development, you're crazy.
Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison

Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison
@StarPoint Probably the Prime 4 engine?
Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison
Prime 4 in 2024... on Switch 2?
Otherwise, I would assume Prime 4 looks like the Remaster... maybe a dual release like BOTW.
I really think Tears of the Kingdom and Prime 4 were intended for the Switch Pro that never happened due to COVID.
Re: 'The Master's Pupil' Is An Upcoming Puzzler Set Inside... Monet's Eyeball?
Reminds me of And Yet It Moves... and Gorogoa.
Definitely on the list.
Re: 'Dredge' Reels A Sinister Fishing Adventure Onto Switch Next Month
Ok... I'm intrigued. Although I would like to see the actual gameplay.
Something like this might have been awesome on WiiU with the Gamepad screen being an underwater view... or radar... something like Affordable Space Adventures.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd February (North America)
I also hope Pathless runs well on Switch and I will probably get it on sale some day.
Re: Nintendo, Sony And Xbox Reportedly Skipping E3 2023
E3 had a pretty good run for over 20 years... it is now a relic of the "old days".
With web sites, YouTube, Twitch, etc. in our pocket, we really don't need it. I will miss it, but only a little bit.
Re: Random: You Can Use Your Switch Joy-Cons As A Replacement Wii Sensor Bar
Because it is in no way a "Sensor Bar"... it is two LED lights.
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th January (North America)
Onion Assault is the only game I even recognize on that list...
And if I wasn't already aware of it, I would not have realized that is a legitimate game.
Re: Video: We've Played SteamWorld Build - Is It Any Good?
Glad to see them expanding... I received Dig essentially for free as part of a Humble Bundle... had no interest in it, but played it and it was so great that I bought Heist.
SteamWorld Heist was also a wonderful surprise... and Dig 2 was also obviously great.
Would like to see a Heist 2, but not sure what they could do better.
Re: Random: Pocket Card Jockey Director Is 'Sad' About The 3DS eShop Closure
Port it to Switch... or make a sequel.
Maybe Switch 2 will have a second screen that flips up?
Re: Review: Onion Assault - A Bold, Breezy Homage To Super Mario Bros. 2
Will definitely give this a go based on previous games.
Re: Gulikit's 'Hall Joystick' Promises To Eliminate Drifing For Your Switch Joy-Con
@ZonaiResearcher Sending to Nintendo for repair is one option... but it is a hassle, you will be without your controller for a while, and it will likely break again over time.
If this really is a better part that essentially eliminates the problem... it is a better option for some people.
Re: Thunderful's SteamWorld Teaser Was Just Another Announcement Tease
Dig, Dig 2, and Heist are all great... If you haven't played them, they get super cheap on the eShop at times.
Re: Quiz: Which Of These Games Is On Switch?
I was 100% until the Overwatch trick... then I stopped caring.
Re: New Super Mario Galaxy 2 Speedrun World Record Set In Thrilling Live Race
That stinks for the other runners...
I'm still so sad that SMG2 wasn't included in 3D All Stars... makes no sense... belongs there more than Sunshine.
Re: Talking Point: So, When Will Nintendo Announce Its Next Console?
And hopefully there will be some backwards benefit to run games like BOTW at solid 1080/30... or maybe even 60.
Re: Talking Point: So, When Will Nintendo Announce Its Next Console?

Re: Here Are Metacritic's Highest-Rated Switch Games Of 2022
Portal for Switch should really include the DLC that was designed specifically for PS Move... it was called Portal 2 In Motion.
Should work great with JoyCon.
Re: PSA: Lightning No Longer Cancels Your Glider In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
@lighteningbolt79 That doesn't help with basic online play.
